Village News
The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

Name: Heartbreaker (Hātoburēkā)
Canon/Custom: Custom
Rank: No idea?
Element: None
Type: Genjutsu

The faster the tempo, the faster the heartbeat. The user must identify how many beats per minute (BPM) the song is; the heart would match the tempo played. The minimum rate rate will be 60 BPM and the maximum will be 120 BPM Lasts 4 posts. 6 post cooldown.

Ok, being as this can really set the heart rate to almost explosive states, and almost drop dead states, this will be a minimal A-rank jutsu. this would also fall under a Genjutsu seemingly, as your tune manipulates the heart rate. Being that it is an A-rank and the massive power it can have, i'm going to limit it to one bpm per use, and a cooldown of 10. This way you can't just flip someone to cocaine speeds, and then throw them down to ambien causing a massive fuck up of their nervous system and everything. Make these edits please.

If I change it to Genjutsu, so that it doesn't truely happen to the person, would it possibly go lower? Also, if I changed the speeds at which the heart rate could go, would the rank also be lowered?

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if I could change it so that it only feels like you're heart's racing or slowing, without the bodily harm, could this be approved at a lower rank?

In fact, i just looked this up, 60-80 bpm is the average heartrate of adult individuals. To bump it to over 120 bpm would mos def. Cause a heart attack/explosion, so the max heart rate i can give you would be 60-120bpm

Before we can get to this we need to establish, what effects happen when the heart rate is increased, or decreased. Obviously keeping it low would slow the user down slightly, but speeding it up to 120bpm could backfire on you, cause the blood would pump spikes of adrenaline from the sheer speed of the heartrate and cause the person to be ridiculously fast.

Okay with the slow hear rate, the person ends up slowing down a bit. Real life side effects of having a low hear rate are lightheadedness, nausea, and pain in the back, neck, and/or stomach. These are the ones I'm going to go with, because some are the same as the fast heart rate.

With the accelerated heart rate, the person ends up using more energy faster, thus becoming tired sooner. They may not speed up per say, but the effects of an accelerated heart rate include burning through energy faster, stress, shortness of breath, weakness, and chest pain.

Those were my resources. Feel free to look at them and maybe choose different side effects.

Well for the sake of anime over reality in some aspects, it'll have to increase the victim's speed slightly in my eyes, that would seem the only plausible way to burn the enrgy faster. The lightheadedness can also be given with the increased heart rate but the speed impulse will have to happen, However, it can be given around a duration of two posts before mass fatique starts settin in. Also, this needs a counter ability if you want it to stay around D-C if that's what you're looking for.
