| This was a horrible sight; it felt like Virtue had been gone for centuries. The village was completely crushed and the only thing ahead of him, the only thing that he could see were the ruins of Nadaregakure. He jumped off the leveled building that he was currently standing on and landed back onto the ground. With every step that he took forward, he stood on the materials of the buildings, it was difficult to walk around the ruins. Virtue quickly shook off the thought of him getting old and focused back onto the mission. He looked from right, to left, over his shoulder and back forwards. It was indeed true. The only thing that he saw were ruins, but nowhere was the Forbidden City, Zijin Cheng. This tallest mountain had a great overview over the mountain country, but even so, he couldn't locate the city. Perhaps the city was further away than the naked eye could see.
Virtue continued walking forwards, the sun shining brighter than before and the clouds that showed signs of rain had disappeared from his sight and had gotten a pure white hue. While walking to the edge of the mountain, he stared at the ground attempting to look for anything that could resemble that of a Forbidden City, trying to find something that matched the descriptions given by the researcher. Something that seemed ancient. However, he already reached the edge of the mountain before he could find anything that might have gotten him further in this mission. He wasn't really fond about returning to the researcher and asking for more information, but if the rest of the search assignment went this way, he had no other choice. For now, he would just scavenge the entire mountain country for clues.
He jumped off the edge of the mountain and ran down from its side by focusing chakra to his feet. A trail of dust got left behind by him as he made his way back to the ground, at the bottom of the mountain, but he didn't stop there. As soon as both of his feet touched the ground beneath the mountain, he dashed forwards and moved himself swiftly across the multiple mountains that had gotten in his path. He had no time to lose; hesitation would lead to death. Even though there was no sign of hostility within these areas, he should not be off-guard any longer. After all these years, Virtue had finally taken on a mission and immediately started off with a dangerous one. Perhaps he took this mission to see if his skills hadn't whittered away. It seemed, however, that his agility hadn't whittered away in the least. Once stumbling upon yet another mountain, he didn't hesitate to run up that one as well and stand on top of it, overlooking everything on his left, right, front and back. His form didn't show any sign of exhaustion, even after all that running. His crimson eyes carefully scanned each and every mountain to look for a sign of the Forbidden City, but no luck yet.
In an instant, he jumped off the top of the mountain and slid down, all the way back to the ground before dashing off yet again into the direction he had been going all this time. The Forbidden City apparently wasn't able to be found on the ground, nor on higher grounds. Where could this city possibly be? Virtue began thinking that maybe the researcher had been playing tricks on him; telling a lie. But why would anyone lie about something like this? He decided to continue to look a little bit longer before returning. The sun got once again blocked by the clouds, covering the world completely in shadows and the temperature rapidly dropping. He didn't seem bothered by it. The running had warmed up his body perfectly, although he wasn't even sweating yet.
This time, he slowed down his pace and patiently walked through the area, carefully looking into each and every direction with each second that passed. Maybe he was passing things too quickly for his eyes to see and actually passed the forbidden city on his way through the mountain area. Could it be that the forbidden city was actually undergrounds? It seemed unbelievable, but then again, Virtue had witnessed stranger things than cities underground. He stopped in his path, looking into each and every direction once again, but this time with his eyes narrowed. He didn't locate any sort of passageway that led underground, but now he knew that that might be something he had to pay attention to as well. He took any sort of possibility as an option, even if it seemed too good to be true. He continued his walking; this time he had three things to pay attention to; higher grounds, lowering grounds, underground. It seemed like an annoying task, but Virtue wasn't just ready to give up just yet.
Another mountain; this one seemed taller than the previous one, but just slightly smaller than the one that had Nadaregakure on top of it. He jumped on top of the side of the mountain and made sure that his chakra prevented him from falling down. With the same pace that he walked, he walked up the mountain and looked around with every step that he took, eventually reaching the top of the mountain. He had both ran and walked a long distance. The tallest mountain was very far away from him, he could barely see it. He looked up at the sky, giving out a sigh, giving in. He should return to the researcher for more information, that would be the best. Anything to continue this mission.
Virtue slid down the side of the mountain and landed back onto the ground, walking into the direction of Boufuugakure, to search yet again for the researcher. Maybe he actually had found more information right now than that he previously had. Lets hope so.
