Element: Bakuton (Katon, Raiton, Doton)
Specialization: Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, Medical Ninjutsu
Personality: "Please, do not mistake my silence for ignorance, my calmness for acceptance, nor my kindness for weakness."
Kairi is a quiet individual, an introverted and reflective soul. He does not speak unless spoken to, nor does he speak without thinking first. The outcome of this patient approach to socializing is often a witty remark, or wise saying. Even then, his responses are short. His voice is soft, almost fragile, as if he is shy. His quietness often sets him apart. His elders often said that he would grow up to be "the strong, silent type". He is a thinker, not in the battle sense, but philosophical, due to the teachings that his parents instilled in him. He’s polite and even gracious, particularly to people who treat him with respect. Those who do not treat him this way or those who insult him should know he will not hesitate to spit words of venom and bile in response and, when necessary, punch out a few teeth.
Training/Combat:
"Remember that guy that gave up? Yea, neither does anybody else."
Kairi takes his training seriously. There have been many a time that he's gone out to train in the morning and not returned until well after sunset. He believes in pushing himself past his limits. He lives by the philosiphy of "If you place limits on yourself, then they will spread over into the rest of your life. There are no limits; hard work pays off -- you get what you put in. So why stop?" Kairi will try his best to train with multiple partners, just to increase his effectiveness in battle against different styles. He often practices jutsu and taijutsu combinations for hours on end, simply because he wishes to use them to thier most effective potential i.e, practicing a jutsu to the point that he no longer needs to speak the jutsu's name to use it.
"Be polite. Be professional. Have a plan to kill everyone you meet."
In combat, Kairi tends to remain silent under the motto 'I'm not here to talk with you. If I am sent to the front line, then my orders are clear: I am to end your life by any means necesary, even if it costs me my own." In his eyes, the people who boast in battle annoy him greatly, often to the point of him breaking his code of silence to scream at them to shut up and let thier skills do the talking. In battle, he often forgos speaking a jutsu's name, just to throw his opponent's off balance or even weaving false hand seals to confuse an opponent.
Likes: "What... is that delicious smell?!"
Kairi loves food. He's willing to try any dish once, and will be forever hooked on it if he likes it. His favorite thing to do while on his days 'off' is to wander around the village and browse the food stalls, sampling and trying thier dishes. He's so well known that the food vendors often ask him to try out thier latest creations. With this being said, he's an avid cook himself, expirementing with different tastes that he likes, and serving them to family and friends.
"I'll take this, this, oh and this..."
Kairi is a habitual collector. He can and will collect anything he can, ranging from small oddly colored rocks to collections of entire books series. Not that he's a ninja, and therefor has a source of income, he wishes to become a weapons collector, wether through purchasing them, or lifting them off enemies. Despite his status as missing nin, he thinks nothing of sneaking into a village to browse the local market.
"People.. never cease to amaze me."
Kairi is a bit of a people watcher. Often after visiting the local food vendors, he takes a plate of whatever dish he scored that day, and will find a crowded place to sit and just watch the villagers go by. Through doing this, he learned the subtle art of reading people, given thier responses and reactions to others.
Dislikes: "The hell did you just say?"
There are few things that Kairi dislikes in this world. The first and foremost is rudeness. While he himself treats everyone he comes across with the utmost respect, it irks him to see someone spit his kindness back in his face. It's one of the few things that will piss him off immediately, to the point of violence. He believes in the 'golden rule'. With this in mind, anyone who disrespects someone else for no real reason should by all means have no problem with him beating thier ass. Most people will find this odd, given his status as a missing-nin.
"I thought we were supposed to be family?!"
In the same light of people treating others with respect, Kairi particularly despises when another Kessu looks down on him. To him, their words hurt even more than someone not related to him. Naota believes that as family he and his kin should stick together, and help each other rather than putting each other down. It might be a childish mindset, but if you cannot turn to your family for help, then who?
Motivation: "My life is not my own. I live to carry on the dreams of those who came before me so that they become reality for those after me."
Naota's main motivation is one of selfishness; to better himself. This is the reason that he trains constantly, that he pushes himself to go beyond his limits. He wishes to serve himself and his village. He wants to leave a legacy that his children, clan, and friends can be proud of. To this end, will do what it takes to succeed in whatever he decides to pursue.
Fears: "what I hold dear? Well, that's esasy. It everything I'm afraid to lose."
There is nothing that Kairi really fears. With that being said, he has the normal fears that everyone has; the fear of losing people close to him. While many would see this as a normal fear, Kairi takes it to a whole new level; his parents are what keep him grounded. His father is his idol in many ways, urging the boy to better himself. His mother is a voice of reason and wisdom in his life, always offering him bits of advice should he ask. To lose them.. well, he'd rather not think about that. While he would not lack for anything if something should happen to them, he is more worried about what would happen to himself.
"I'm probably the worst thing that will ever happen to myself."
It should go without saying that his worst fear is himself. He knows of his clan's violent past, and strives to pull himself away from that. That isnt to say that he doesnt love his kin; but given their past, Kairi does not wish for himself to fall victim to the cycle.
Kesu Bloodline Name: Explosion Release: Choy-Li fist
Bloodline Ability: In the past Explosion release was a relatively widespread Kekkei Genkai. It is the ability to use earth/advanced nature chakra to create explosive offensive techniques. The Kesu clan specializes in the combination of short range Explosive jutsu’s and their own unique Taijutsu style. When a clan member with the blood line ability is born, they are made to master the Kesu‘s Choy-Li Taijustsu before learning how to control the close quarters Explosion Release techniques.
Physical Traits: Members have no genetically definable traits. There is a consequential aesthetic feature shared within the clan, these being the many scars obtained from the training of Explosion release Jutsu’s and the subsequent debris caused by them.
Due to the clan’s vigorous Taijutsu training, all practitioners of Explosion release: Choy-Li are lithe and athletic in appearance.
Location: Boufuu
Clan History: In the days gone by, the kekkei genkai Explosion release was relatively widespread; there were several lineages capable of using said Explosive techniques. However through time and the hardships of life, many lineages became obsolete. The origin of the Kesu clan comes from the amalgamation of two separate lineages. In the outskirts of Boufuugakure there existed a small and relatively unimportant Clan of taijutsu practitioners, who from an early age were trained in the Choy-Li style, a mixture of hard and soft techniques. Though not a large clan, their style had been acquired through centuries of battles and competitions with other taijutsu practicing clans, giving the Choy-Li style a very strong and honed finish. The other lineage were a clan of nomadic shinobi, years of travelling and disease had decimated their clan, almost eradicating their kekkei genkai (Nature transformation: Explosion release), they settled in the Heat country, not knowing they were far from Boufuugakure or the Choy-Li clan.
The two clans unison was not recorded in any of the Kesu records how it occurred, and it has been often rumored a story made to romanticize the clans history; a young man of the Nomadic people had fallen in love with the chief heiress to the Choy-Li clan. Both had kept this secret from their representative clans, in fear of persecution. However when the heiress became pregnant their love could no-longer be hidden.
The Choy-Li’s headmaster, the heiress’s farther, while hard spirited and rigid in his ways could not help his compassion when he saw the newborn child. The child served as a symbol of unity with the now combined nomadic and Choy-Li clans. As the child grew he was taught both clans lineages of techniques, during his final days of training the now teen prodigy combined a Explosive jutsu with one of the Choy-Li’s taijutsu attacks, the compatibility of the techniques shocked everyone there. The Boy was named Atamanoiiko (Bright child), as time passed and he garnered experience Atamanoiiko was chosen as the new head of the united clans. Upon his appointment declared the disbandment of the clans, in order for a new clan to rise; the new clan was named Kesu, which meant “to improve”.
The Kesu clan remained small and unimportant, and through the centuries it devoted itself to furthering Atamanoiiko’s techniques and style. The explosion release bloodline had no specific requirements for passing down generations, only that the parents bared the Kekkei Genkai before them.
The virtue of the Kesu clan remains as strong as ever, the clan still aims to maintain its stoic and self preservation like nature. As such despite the clans relatively powerful techniques and martial prowess, they are not regarded as an important clan within Boufuugakure.
