Bloodline Name: Sumi no Chi-e (Blood Ink-Picture)

Elements: They don't have a set element affiliated with them, but there are more people with water affinities than the rest.

Specialization: Taijutsu and kenjutsu; Ninjutsu (for usage of the clan's ability)

Physical Traits: Those born in the Sumichi clan have silver or gold flecks in their eyes. They also have reddish-brown hair, but they change their appearance often due to their occupation.

Location: They were born in Tsukigakure, but they are scattered throughout the world.

Clan History: It is not known how the Sumichi clan came to be, and even its older members have no idea how their bloodline started. Some say it was because of a freak accident involving lightning; others say the one who founded the clan helped a god, who in turn gave him the power of creation. In any case, the Sumichi clan has grown into a clan that specializes in assassination and spying. They are people who do not tolerate failure, and people who fail missions are usually never heard of again. The scariest part about the Sumichi clan is their ability to kill their own family without any hesitation or regret.

Over time, they developed a system that helped them get customers from all the hidden villages. They split themselves up into smaller branches and made themselves infamous, though no one would actually be able to identify a Sumichi clan member just by appearance since they changed it so much. Their Main House is unknown to everyone but the people who remained in it. Their memories of the Main House's location were wiped, so that the people who were in a branch clan wouldn't be able to give up its whereabouts. However, the leader of the Branch House would still be able to remember the Main House's location, and if ever a Branch clan member wanted to visit the main house, all he or she would have to do is submit a report to the branch house's leader. Once evaluated, the leader will send a letter to the Main House and ask them to send someone to take the branch clan member to the main house. Once the Branch House member returned, their memories of the Main House would be wiped again.

The Sumichi clan starts training their children in the assassination arts once they have graduated to Genin. Usually, children who are born in the Branch House are sent back to the Main House once they have reached genin stage, giving the village's the excuse that they are moving away. Although, there have been certain cases in which kids remain in the Branch House and is trained by their Branch's leader. In the Main House, the children are trained harshly with nearly no breaks. The training is so exhausting that during the first few weeks, it was the norm to pass out right in the middle of it. Some children who are weaker than others can even die from it. However, those who excel at it grow up to be powerful ninja.

Bloodline Ability Description: The Kekkei Genkai of the Sumichi clan is the ability to create or transform using their blood. Mostly, the Sumichi clan use this ability to transform into animals or create weapons. Their blood is a special kind, quite similar to ink, and they are able to use it to draw shapes on their skin and bring it to life. Some have even described this strange trait of theirs as 'The Ink of Creation'. It basically works like this: first, the user of the ability must make a small wound on him/herself and draw a shape of the weapon or animal he/she wants to create or transform into. The drawing must be precise and detailed, or the the quality of what is produced will lower significantly. The user must clearly imagine the object or animal drawn on the skin and then focus chakra into the blood, pushing it out. The blood on the user's skin will then do either two things, depending on the user's intent. If the user wants to create something, the blood will peel off of the user's skin and transform into the weapon drawn on the skin. If the user intends to transform, the blood will be reabsorbed into the skin, and the user will transform into an animal. Chakra is not used to maintain the form of the user or weapon.

There is another way of getting around the need of having to redraw the same image over and over again, and that is by tattooing the blood into the skin. It is mixed with a special type of substance and tattooed inside with the help of chakra. After the user dematerializes the weapon, the blood flows back into the skin, but the user needs to use additional chakra to place it back as it was before. For transformations, its basic principle is the same, except the user only needs to use chakra to make the blood-ink mixture go back to wherever the tattoo was placed.

Drawbacks: There are quite a few drawbacks to using this kekkei genkai, being:

1) The blood of the Sumichi clan is unable to clot.

Self-explanatory- it means that the a member of the Sumichi clan can die of a tiny scratch if left unattended.

2) The user is unable to create animals and give them life.

Though it would have been convenient, the Sumichi clan is unable to do that. The most the could create is a stuffed doll, or for more advanced users, dead corpses of animals. Those who try to give life to their creations often end up ding in the process. The only time a person can give life to something non-living is when they transform into weapons.

3) The ability uses up a lot of chakra

A member of the Sumichi clan can only use their special ability 4-5 times per day due to the amount of chakra it consumes, and that is if they want to stay standing afterwards. The ability of creation is a great gift that comes with a great price. The amount of chakra used, however, depends on what the user is creating. If it is something small and not very detailed, the amount of chakra is significantly a lot less than if the object is large and very detailed.

4) If a person has used their ability once, they are unable to use it again until they dematerialize their weapon or transform back into human form.

5) Those who get tattoos must remember to shift them back into their proper places when they have finished using them unless they want to die.

The substance used in making tattoos for their kekkei genkai is actually poisonous, but after mixing it with blood, it does not travel around the body and stays in one spot. This is mainly due to the help of the chakra, which binds it to that spot. Think of the chakra as a sort of anchor. However, if one doesn't return it to that 'anchor', the substance will be absorbed into the body and the user will die a horrible, painful death.

5) The ability is limited to your imagination

Imagination plays a key role in this kekkei genkai. If you have a clear drawing, but cannot visualize it, the creation will fail. It's the same vice versa, but only because the drawing acts as a base for the jutsu. The kekkei genkai doesn't limit itself by making the user draw a long weapon (like a bp) to be exactly the same length it is supposed to be, but it does help to make the drawing thicker so there is enough blood in it to make the wood thick.


The Sumichi clan's jutsu don't just center around these, and other jutsu can be created to fit the member's chakra type.

Description: Creating simple objects, such as leaves or sticks; eventually becomes Weapon Creation as ank goes up. The rank increases by how good you do at it, like if you try to make a stick and it ends up being a cylindrical, brown object with the texture of glue, that is D-rank. If the stick is a perfect replica of one found somewhere else, then it is S-rank. This jutsu requires only one hand seal (If someone could tell me the hand seal for focusing chakra- or if there is one at all, that would be appreciated). The amount of chakra used for this jutsu varies. Usually takes one post to charge and one post to cool down.

It is a form that is hard to perfect, as the user needs to have a very, very good control of his kekkei genkai, as well as a good imagination for this to work. Highly encouraged not to attempt until Kage-level or above. Requires two posts to charge up and a 5 post cool down. It needs one hand seal and one is only allowed to maintain it for 3 posts due to the risks (unable to transform back, or eventually killing yourself by losing your mind- literally).
