Personality: Toyomi is extraordinarily shy, especially when compared to other aspiring ninja her age. She's aware that many attended the academy at a far younger age than herself, and in her mind that has given them the advantage. If around those she does not know well, she'll prone to forcing smiles when in uncomfortable situations to make said situations easier on everyone else. Being a bother or burden to others is the last thing she wants.

Those that know her well understand that just under her always smiling face she's actually a very emotional person. The death of her mother when she was nine had a big impact on her and caused her to have a great fear of death, especially when those at risk are close to her.

Likes: Toyomi enjoys sweets and mildly spicy food. She also enjoys helping out her father when she isn't out training, which is another of her pastimes.

Dislikes: Dislikes sour food, and bullies. She also gets irritated if someone purposefully prevents her from training- even if it's for her own good.

Motivation: Protect those around her, so that others don't have to experience what she did.

Fears: Her greatest fear is that she'll somehow cause the death of someone else.


History:
Birth to Age 6:
She was born in Tsukigakure and brought up simply by her mother, Senka, and her father Souji. When she was 5 her mother brought her on a summer trading expedition to a neighboring country, Hyougagakure, with her uncle, Souda, and older cousin, Kameme. As they neared the midpoint, where they would take a ship from a local port, they came under a surprise attack by two bandits who took her hostage in the confusion. They wanted goal take possession of their goods and, with no other choice available to them, her family was forced to comply.

When all the goods had been moved Senra naturally expected the return of the daughter, and approached the men with her arms outstretched to hold her child close to her. Fearing that she meant to attack him, the younger of the thugs who had been holding her lashed out with his knife, resulting in a deep wound in her arm.

Enraged by his sister's injury, Souda suddenly rushed her attacker. The thug who had been keeping her hostage shoved her to the ground and came to his partner's aid, promoting Kameme to grab her hand and rush back to a safe distance where her mother had also retreated.

Once her mother had her, he left to assist his father. But, they were two unarmed civilians against knife-wielding thugs and, after only a few minutes, one of the thugs was able to deal a fatal blow to Kameme, which served as enough of a distraction for the other to do the same to Souda. After that, they retrieved the goods and left, seemingly not having any reason to kill a defenseless woman and child.

Senra, overcome with grief at the loss of her brother and nephew embarked on a long walk home, only pausing to change the makeshift bandages on her arm or to let her daughter rest. She was evasive about answering her daughter's questions, such as 'Why we leave Meme-chan and Ji-chan 'hind mommy?" only replying with things such as, "Toyomi, they can't come with us."

It didn't take long for them to return home, but even with proper medical attention, sepsis had already settled into Senra's wounds casusing her to be extremely ill. Much of the family's funds had been used for the trip in hopes that the profits would be much larger, but now, all that money was gone.

At one point in her feverish confusion, she thought her husband was her brother and babbled on about how sorry she was, and that it was all her fault. Not long after that , Toyomi was no longer allowed to visit her mother. Her father told her she had died.

She had only recently learned what a funeral was, when her uncle and cousin had gone away, and now her mother was going away as well.

Age 6 to Current:

After Senra's passing Souji became sullen and withdrawn, focusing all his efforts into running the family business alone. Toyomi stopped attending the children's school in order to assist him.

As she grew older, she developed nightmares from the deaths she's witnessed, and of the journey home with her mother. She felt responsible for their deaths, as if they wouldn't have died if she hadn't been grabbed.

As a countermeasure to it ever happening again. She began to train, starting with swords. She began with a stick(Well, several actually), mimicking the way actual sword users trained. She saved a bit of money and got an actual practice sword.
