Personality: Being in her early teens, Miyuki is still in the process of discovering who she is. But that’s not to say that she’s entirely without personality. She is an intelligent child who is generally quick to grasp concepts but will still work hard to make sure that she has things down pat. She is creative and curious; always willing to push the boundaries of her own abilities just to see for herself what she can and can’t do. This can cause problems as it leads her to poke things that it might be best weren’t poked. Luckily she’s willing and able to learn from her mistakes. She can be rather hard on herself due to some perfectionist qualities and has a tendency to get really frustrated when something she’s trying to do (especially a new jutsu or move she’s trying to learn or invent) just doesn’t work time and time again.
Like many girls her age she’s rather dramatic but rather than manufacture or exaggerate personal crises, she simply tends to act a bit over the top and downright theatrical. That’s not to say that she doesn’t take things seriously nor that she is unable to be inconspicuous and reserved; merely that she seems to think that her life comes complete with its own mini spotlight, stage, and audience. She’s a friendly sort although she has no problem being in her own company.
She does have a temper and a bit of a viscous streak but she does work to sit on them and is trying to keep them down to mere flashes that are usually acted on. At this time, she is not always successful but when she does give in to her uglier emotions the fits are relatively brief. It also should be noted that she’s under the impression that body modesty is something that happens to other people. That’s not to say that she goes around (half) naked when the situation doesn’t call for it; she just doesn’t seem to care if the company she’s in is mixed or not. Perhaps this attitude will change as she grows older and finishes going through puberty, but only time will tell.

Likes: While there are many things that Miyuki likes, she does a few things that she is rather partial to. She enjoys keeping busy and improving herself, folk tales and mythology, pretty things, tea, and ginger. Her hobbies include a number of different crafts like knitting, embroidery, calligraphy, ikebana, and writing.

Dislikes:  Willful ignorance, learned helplessness, people who think that just because they’re shinobi (especially those in long established clans) they’re above others, and failing (especially in regards to her personal projects)  are things that really get her goat. After a particular incident when she was an academy student (which was totally not her fault) she really dislikes bees, wasps, and hornets. And while she’ll eat practically anything she just can’t stand umeboshi.

Motivation:  Miyuki has basically two goals in life. The first is to invent a lethal genjutsu where it is the genjutsu itself (rather than the environment or a physical attack) that kills. The second is to essentially have her cake and eat it too by being a wife and mother without having to give up being a ninja.

Fears:  While she has had her share of childhood bug-a-boos and has faced a few rather scary situations, she does have a couple of deep seated fears. One fear is to grow old and die alone and unloved; and what she might be tempted to do to avoid such a fate. Another fear is to be forced by circumstances to lose everything that makes her, her; to have to change every little thing about her in order for her to fit in. Then there’s the thing with the full grown whales that walk on land to chase her, but that’s more of a reoccurring nightmare than anything else.

Bloodline Name: Shiton

Bloodline Ability: Shiton’s abilities are more passive than active although they can be used to great effect both offensively and defensively. As with all bloodline abilities the more chakra a user has, the longer a user can go and the greater the range that can be achieved.
Cold/heat resistance: Those possessing shiton have the ability to comfortably withstand a wider range of temperatures than ‘normal’ people by lowering their internal body temperature to either mitigate relatively high heat (think Arizona/Nevada/Texas/Mexico in the middle of an average summer) or to equalize body and room temperatures in relatively low cold (just about Arctic). They’re pretty much immune to hypothermia and frostbite, somewhat immune to heat stroke (or at least experience a delayed onset of it), but are not immune from dehydration, sunburn, regular burns, and in an extend high heat situation are more vulnerable to chakra exhaustion since they’re using their chakra to regulate their body temperature. The baseline temperature for a shiton user is about two degrees below that of an average person (being roughly 96.2 – 98.2 rather than 98.2 – 100.2 in terms of core body temperature.
Metabolic suspension: By lowering their body temperature to about 90 degrees Fahrenheit or bellow, a shiton user is able to suspend their metabolic functions without the loss of consciousness. They do not breath, their hearts don’t beat, and they don’t hunger or thirst. In this state, they can feel pain and they can be killed – so long as one takes into account their lack of breathing and circulation (breaking the neck, immolation, crushing, and electrocution will work; suffocation, bleeding out, and poisoning however aren’t all that effective so long as the shiton user can find a qualified medic before they have to resume their metabolic functions). Despite the lack of breath they can still talk, and staying in this state is draining on their chakra reserves so they can’t maintain such a state indefinitely. This is not an automatic reaction to the lowering of the temperature but rather has to be consciously activated
Cold/frost radiation: By lowering their body temperature to any point below the ambient temperature, a shiton user can radiate a zone of coldness starting from mere inches away from their body to about ten feet away from them carrying all the effects that said temperatures would normally generate. The temperatures within this zone is not constant; the farther away from the shiton user it is, the closer to ambient the temperature is and the warmer the shiton user is, the smaller the circumference of the zone will be. In an enclosed space the shiton user will have the effect similar to that of an air conditioner with the zone conforming to the dimensions of the room but outside of an enclosed space, the zone will take the form of a sphere. Hypothermia, frostbite, ice, and the appearance of frost will occur as is natural for the temperature conditions.

Clan History:  The unfortunate reality is that with all the war and strife inherent in the world, the true history of the shiton has become lost as the clan was destroyed and scattered. Certainly Miyuki is unaware of this as she inherited her bloodline from her mother’s side of the family, her mother died when she was a baby, and her father rarely speaks of his first wife beyond the fact that she was a civilian when they met and married. Due to the effects of the shiton, it is entirely possible that the bloodline is the basis for the legend of the yukionna which would make it a rather old bloodline. Being the currently only known person to posses the shiton, the clan is being named after Miyuki. Of course, should any record of the shiton appear that lists the original (or at the very least, older) clan name that will be used instead.


History:  Miyuki came to Boufuugakure as a baby with her father, Fumio, and step-mother (her mother having died shortly after she was born), Junko, as refugees. Her father works as a clerk for a textile merchant while her step-mother is a house wife who occasionally picks up a bit of extra cash sewing things. Despite the fact that both her father and step-mother are still relatively young, they have yet to have any children between themselves. They may not be rich but they lead a comfortable life.

Her kekkei genkai manifested itself shortly after her birth – much to the panic of her father as what new father wouldn’t panic when their child suddenly stopped breathing and grew deathly cold. As there had been no history of such things cropping up in her father’s family’s history (not even so much as a mention of a rape or too starry eyed young girl), and that while she thought of Junko as her mother the facts remained that Junko was still just her step-mother which meant that any shinobi blood that the woman might or might not have had was basically irrelevant, it can only be assumed that Miyuki’s kekkei genkai came from her mother’s family since the only other alternative is that her kekkei genkai’s actually some random mutation which would put her as the originator for it (which is quite silly when you think of it as everyone knows mutations like that only exist in anime and manga).
Thanks to her having a kekkei genkai, it was only natural that she begin attending the ninja academy once she was old enough. Despite being raised in a civilian household, she showed none of the aversions that many children from civilian families had to the life of a ninja (stealing, spying, killing; you know the kinds of things that pretty much all ninja do but is generally discouraged in the population at large). She fairly thrived in the academy; soaking up all that her teachers had to offer and putting in the hard work needed to perfect the lessons to the best of her ability. She never did reach the ‘coveted’ position of top kunoichi in her class (that spot was held by a girl who’s family had been shinobi for as long as such things had existed), but she did manage to consistently place in the top tenth percentile when it came to her grades. Thus when the time came she managed to easily pass the graduation test offered by the academy.
Tomorrow she gets her team assignment and finds out who she will be primarily working with for the foreseeable future.


RP Sample:  The man, her target, stank of stale piss, sweat, and sake and Miyuki was loathe to go any closer to him than she absolutely had to. Akai Te no Shou was just as repulsive as his reputation suggested, and the men under his leadership were little better themselves. Which is where she and her team came in (although the rest of her team was waiting in hiding; Shou was a right paranoid bastard – he had reason to be given how many wanted his head on a pike – and had the devil’s own luck so far when it came to avoiding assassination. In order for the mission to be a success Shou had to be dead, dead, dead and that couldn’t be left to the whims of a long range attack or taking him in a battle). Delicate, and carefully dressed to accentuate the curves that she didn’t have in the slightly smudged finery that told of one who might not soon be missed and had been wandering the forest where Shou and his men had taken up residence, she trembled as the man neared her; part artifice, part true nerves. This was going to be the first time she had killed a man after all, even if it was what she had spent her short life studying and if the man was better off dead than alive as far as the world was concerned.
She was the trap. And he took the bait. A rough hand clumsily caressed her face as fetid breath spilled out of a mouth missing altogether too many of its teeth when it split into a grin. As if on cue her teammates jumped out of the brush, kunai and shuriken at the ready. As expected Shou, the coward, grabbed her to use as a human shield and ordering the bandits to take out the ninja they outnumbered by at least ten to one. As her teammates tried to bargain for Shou to set her free rather than have him kill her (all the while treating her as if she wasn’t a competent kunoichi; all the better to keep up their ruse), she went limp. Show time.
Breathing stilled as she went into the opening stages of her kekkei genkai and the kunai she had stashed up the sleeve of her kimono fell neatly into her hand. Quick as lightning the kunai buried itself in Shou’s generous gut, slicing across the belly as she turned. Before Shou could react or even fully realize what had happened to him, Miyuki dragged the kunai up towards his ribs, out, and then across his throat to nick the jugular vein as well as bisect the trachea. Now it was Shou who went limp, only he was not going to be getting up anytime soon.
Her teammates were holding their own with Shou’s men, who had advanced the attack on what they had thought had been a pair of hapless teens but were soon learning were otherwise. Now that Shou was down though, some of them were redirecting their attacks on the one who had felled him; coming at Miyuki with nearly rusted swords, chipped clubs, and undisciplined fists. Dodging the blows that were aimed at her with more brute power than actual skill, Miyuki caught the short sword that one of her teammates had tossed to her and the battle was met. The poor bastards didn’t stand a chance.

Face Claim: Iple House’s Asa

In the specializations: You don't need to state that you can combine Taijutsu and Genjutsu. It is not a specialization but really anyone can use Taijutsu during a genjutsu, so take that stuff out.

Also, for the Bukijutsu: At this time, just place this in there - Bukijutsu (General Knowledge). This will be an indicator that your character will have general knowledge of all weaponry.

Your history needs to be at least 400 words for the rank of Genin.

Your frost release needs to be placed in the clan area to be approved, but just to let you know, it is too close name-wise to the Ice release so be a bit more creative with it. Or use Japanese variations since they are generally more diverse than when in the English language.

Can I have a bit of clarification about the bloodline name thing? Which part of it is too close to the Ice release? The Japanese (shiton) or the English translation (Frost release)?

Shiton is fine. It just cannot have any relation to the Ice release, hence why I was saying that the English "Frost release" is too similar to "Ice."

So the needed changes have now been made, as well as the minor one of switching the village since after talking to some of the other muns on here I've decided that the 'new' village is a better fit for my character. If there's anything else that needs changed/worked on please let me know.
