Personality: Genkaku generally prefers to be alone, and is more introverted than most. He dislikes large crowds of people (more than fifty), and is quite scared of being suffocated in huge crowds. He is also fairly claustrophobic, and is even a little nervous inside of buildings, unless they are quite large. He literally cannot go underground, for fear of a collapse.
Genkaku is a very religious Buddhist, due to his history, though he will generally not try to force his religion onto others. He does insist, however, that others should follow a set of ethical guidelines that can only be broken under the most extreme circumstances. Genkaku's own guidelines include not eating meat, not killing without good reason, not stealing, and not lying. As a result, Genkaku has learned to dislike people who do these things, and has even learned to tell whether or not a person is lying by their body language and speech.
The genin has a little bit of a "god complex", in that he thinks that karma happens in the form of a person judiciously punishing someone who has committed a "sin". Although most other Buddhists do not share this belief, Genkaku will insist that it is true, and that he must therefore "punish" all people who commit sins. This devout religious nature has left Genkaku an outcast among most other people, and especially most other ninja, who are usually not devout in any way.

Likes:His hobbies include writing poetry, confusing people in some way or another, and chastising others for their "sins". Genkaku's favorite foods are sushi and steamed rice. He enjoys spending time in temples, monasteries, and other places that might be deemed "holy", as he feels a certain, almost puritanical happiness in these places.

Dislikes: Genkaku hates people who enjoy killing, and "sinful" activities that he deems unforgivable, such as eating meats, touching a dead body, suicide, and murdering someone when there is a chance that they don't need to be killed, and desecrating a place that is sacred. Genkaku outright refuses to eat any red meats, although he will partake of chicken, pork, and fish. He generally dislikes perverts and murderous thugs, and he dislikes spending any amount of time in a brothel, although if he is forced to, he will merely pretend that it is an inn (though he will complain endlessly).

Motivation: Genkaku is motivated to find the killer of his parents and destroy him/her. While he does not know much about the killer, he does know that it was a Kusamuragakure ninja, and by most accounts, it was a male ninja. With only this information, he hopes to infiltrate Kusamuragakure's ninja ranks to weed out the murderer and make him pay.

Fears: Genkaku is severely afraid of being crushed or running out of oxygen. For this reason, any amount of enclosed spaces makes him nervous, and in extreme cases, forces his mind to revert to an almost child-like state. Large crowds of people and being inside of a small living area makes Genkaku nervous, and being underground will make him even more so, even causing mild panic attacks.

History: Genkaku Zeppou was born to two outlying members of Kusamuragakure, ex-ninja, who lived near a Buddhist temple. At first, the two ex-shinobi were still fully loyal to the village, but after a few years living close to the peaceful monks, the parents had changed their minds and were positive that their son would not become a ninja, and instead would be a peace-loving monk. As a result, Genkaku was brought to the temple as soon as they would accept him, and immediately began teaching the young infant about the Buddhist teachings and keeping him in the temple. It is because of this upbringing that Genkaku has become so devout concerning Buddhism. However, Kusamuragakure was not happy about these arrangements...

Although Genkaku lived in the temple and hardly ever ventured out into the world when he was younger, he was allowed to visit his parents often enough to see that they were slowly changing. It was not an obvious change at first, and Genkaku did not understand the changes or what the changes were exactly. When Genkaku had been given his Buddhist robes and had his head shaved to become a Buddhist monk for all his life, his parents had attended, and on this day, they had changed most of all. The next day, Genkaku received word that his parents had been killed by someone who wore only black, save for a headband with the Kusamuragakure symbol. Genkaku remembered how his parents' had told him once or twice about their old village, about the people who could kill their targets deep inside the forest in such a way that their bodies would never be found. He remembered how his parents' own eyes had always been shifting, and how they had jumped at shadows and kept their home bright all the time. The way they had changed was obvious to Genkaku now: they had been afraid.

After a few years of studying scripts at the Buddhist temple and thinking of the deaths of his parents, listening to his teachers tell him not to worry, and that karma would pay the killer in kind for their deaths, Genkaku decided that he would be the karma that would bring justice to his parents' killer. But first, he had to become one of them. For this reason, Genkaku left the Buddhist temple and traveled to the Hidden Village that his parents had been from: Kusamuragakure. He was going to infiltrate their very system and find the one ninja who had killed his parents.
Although Genkaku was new to the idea of using chakra, he learned quickly, though he could only do his best to catch up with the other students, who had lived around other ninja their whole lives. This only made him try harder to learn how to use chakra. This was the type of training that Genkaku dreaded; he had to train his body to keep up with his mind, when his mind was always the leader and his body the follower. However, he found that he had an affinity for both fuuinjutsu and weaponry, and used both to become the greatest student he could manage, though he could only get an average grade.

After a few more years, Genkaku finally managed to graduate from the Kusamuragakure ninja academy. He was well on his way to finding his parents' killer. And so Genkaku's true journey of justice began.

RP Sample: Kashaku stops suddenly in front of Stein, the same breeze that revealed the ninja's stitches also revealing the black clothing Kashaku wore underneath his black coat and some of the medium-length hair blowing out of his face to reveal a determined and slightly angered face. "My father was killed by a man he was interrogating. My mother killed herself because my father died. They were both weak..." He thinks for a moment, his own mind one of analysis because of his father's early teachings. Raising his hands inside his coat, he left the sleeves as they were when the wind dies down, allowing the sleeves to hang as if the arms were still inside. "I do not know if I can trust that you are who you say you are... But if you are, then I suppose I have no reason to deny you seeing the kage. And even if you are not who you say you are... Well, the kage is not kage for no reason at all." With that said, Kashaku continues walking to the kage's office, his hands held in the handseal as he readies his chakra for a genjutsu, just in case he needs to get away. "I know better than to trust anyone... Especially someone who looks like they can speak their mind."
