The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

The moonlight lit up the blood-stained walls of Pallas' cozy home. He had been indulging himself in deep conversation with the Seven Tails for the last seven hours. It seemed as if he and the beast were finally coming to even ground. They had both decided that if they were going to be stuck with each other for such a long period of time, it is best if they do what is beneficial for both parties. At this moment, it was simply getting along.
"The moon, the moon, the moon. Shining into the room, the room, the room. Sign of impending doom, doom, doom...." The Seven Tails recited a thousand year old poem into the mind of Pallas. "I like that one. Who wrote it?" The beast scoffed, seemingly shocked by Pallas' ignorance. "I did, of course. How could you mistake my great words for someone else's?" Pallas smiled. Not one week ago, these two beings despised each other. Now, here they were, upholding a conversation. Having.... fun? Yes, that was it. This emotion Pallas was feeling.... It's the only time he has ever had fun.
"Listen, ignorant-boy. We're going to be stuck together for a long time.... Probably until you die. I think it's best if I teach you a few things." Pallas was shocked and his expression showed as much. This was the first time that anyone has ever offered him help... ever. "W-What do you mean?" Seven Tails sighed heavily. Is this kid an idiot? he thought to himself. "I mean I'm going to let you tap into my chakra. Before you get too excited, I'm not going to let you access all of it. No, not even half of it. Just a bit so you can protect yourself.... and more importantly, protect me. Listen closely, ignorant-kun. To access my power, you have to focus. We must meet some sort of equilibrium. When it is reached, a faint cloak will envelope your body. I'll let you try it out now. Just focus!"
Pallas nodded as he listened deeply to the resonating words of the Seven Tails. He stood up and relaxed as best as he could, bringing his hands together in front of the center of his chest, open palm to open palm. He focused for five minutes.... Then ten... Then fifteen. Nothing was happening. What was he doing wrong? It wouldn't be much longer before Seven Tails broke the silence that had previously enveloped the room. "You're too tense. Loosen up or we'll never be able to do this." Pallas nodded and resumed his stance.
There he stood. This time he breathed easy, letting his body's natural movements be the only ones he made. Not ten seconds had passed before a black cloak had begun covering his entire body. "You've done it, you idiot! You actually did it! Keep focusing. Soon enough, a tail or two will begin to sprout from your behind. That is a good sign, don't freak out."
Pallas continued focusing, and just as Seven Tails had predicted, a tail had sprouted.... Then another.... Then another. "We'll stop there. That is more than enough at this point in time. Do not abuse my chakra or use it recklessly, or I'll take it back just as quick as I had given it to you."
With that, Pallas went to bed. He was happy. He had finally made a friend, though he didn't know if Seven Tails felt the same way about him. Nonetheless, that didn't matter to him. He was reaching a new point in his life that would surely change it forever.

It had been a week since Pallas had learned how to tap into his inner demon's chakra supply. When he awoke on the morning of the following week, Seven Tails was quick to speak to Pallas. Uncharacteristically quick. He wasn't even greeted by a poem, as per usual. Instead, he was greeted by a harsh, demanding tone. "You take things too slow, ignorant-boy. Today, and for the rest of the week, I will teach you the art of Snapping Turtle Fighting. This fighting style requires tremendous strength and emphasis on technique. You will need to pay close attention to my verbal instruction."
What had gotten into Seven Tails lately? He had gone from complete silence and ignoring of Pallas all together to trying to help him? What the hell? Regardless, Pallas wasn't going to turn down the opportunity to improve. He wasn't fighting for himself anymore. He was fighting for the sake of Seven Tails as well, his new and only friend. "Where are we off to?" Seven Tails laughed. "Why, to the water, of course! Where else would a turtle be?"
Pallas headed out quickly to the nearest lake. He skipped breakfast and almost forgot to get changed. "Now, the first thing you must learn is stance discipline. Crouch your knees. Power comes from the legs, ignorant-boy." Pallas crouched his knees, staying low to the ground. "Good. When attacking, you must explode from your knees up. Remember that. This is a defensive style, composed of many counters to ensure self-safety."
Pallas trained hard for the rest of the week, nothing short of mastering the technique with the help of Seven Tails.
