Mission: Catch That Cat!

Objective: It seems that a little noble girl, by the name of Kimi, has lost her oh-so-sweet Mister snugglywugglycuddlypoofy-kins. The long haired cat has been spotted across the village, sighted by multiple people. Her parents have posted a nice reward for bringing the cat back.

One thing. The cat is an escape artist. No matter your rank he will escape from you at least twice, clawing your arms and shoulders up getting away. The second time he escapes he will flee up a rather tall acorn tree, taking pleasure in knocking the acorns off onto your face and head. After a few minutes the cat will realise that he is stuck in the tree, and you'll have to get him back down.

If the feline is harmed in anyway you have failed the mission, and you will not get your pay.

It was a beautiful day... Or at least it had been until Niernen went and decided he felt the need to take a mission. And that's just what he did... The best part about it, the mission he had chosen seemed pretty damn easy, and even paid more than the others he had spotted. The only question in his mind, why in the hell would someone pay 20k just for someone to catch their damn cat.. Oh well, their poor decision would be his pay-day.

So mission in mind, and nothing better to do at the moment the blonde Genin made way to the address specified. Walking through the crowds a crooked grin made itself known upon Niernen's face, causing civilians and even some shinobi to give him a wide birth. Arriving at the location Niernen knocked heavily upon the door, quickly growing impatient as he waited for the owner to answer.

A little girl answered; presumably Kimi, the one who owned the cat, she seemed quite upset before perking up as she saw Niernen.

"Are yew dah mister that's gunna bring Mister snugglywugglycuddlypoofy-kins home?" The little girl asked excitedly before taking off to get her father before Niernen could even answer her. The girls father soon approached, eyeing Niernen all the while.

"Another to catch the kids cat huh? You sure you have what it takes boy?" The man questioned in a stern voice. Niernen simply raised a brow as his grin grew, splitting his face before briefly erupting into some slightly manic laughter... This caused the Kimi's father to take a step back before eyeing Niernen nervously.

"So yah got a cat for me to catch huh? Heh.. I'll have it back in no time.. mhmm.. Not time at all.. kekekeke" Niernen broke into laughter towards the end of his words before making too leave as Kimi's father's voice broke the sudden silence..

"Best not harm the cat boy! If you do, yah don't get paid, got it!"

Niernen simply shrugged before dashing off into the streets. First stop.. A shop with some candy.. Which was quickly accomplished before taking off in search of the cat, and any leads. It wasn't long before he had heard someone shouting about a cat stealing their fish. Dashing off Niernen reached the spot the voice came from, spotting a furious woman. Quickly asking which way it went Niernen was pointed towards a nearby park.

Setting off once again it wasn't long before Niernen came upon the park... Yet no blasted feline in sight! Spending nearly twenty minutes looking around the park Niernen was ready to give up when he spotted it... The cat was being chased around the park by a few kids... *smack* Face met palm as Niernen realized he had missed that so easily.

Grinning he set out to cut off the feline, quickly using the Bunshin no Jutsu to create a couple clones to distract it. The clones closed in on the cat before it realized they were there.. Darting to the side the cat leapt over the clones as they dove for it, colliding with each other and dispersing. A cloud of smoke later the cat was revealed to be struggling in the real Niernen's arms, he having caught it in mid air as the clones burst into smoke.

Claw's dug in, tearing cloth and dragging along flesh over and over as the feline struggled to make its way up, and finally over Niernen's shoulders before escaping... Niernen, ignoring the pain in favour of complaining about his ruined cloak, gritted his teeth, swearing vengeance upon the damn cat..

Seething with righteous fury, in his eyes, Niernen darted of in pursuit of the blasted cat. Brown fur blurred down the streets, darting through legs, before making way into an ally-way, which Niernen was quick to follow it into. Spotting that the ally was a deadend Niernen was about to enjoy his success when...

Claws sunk into flesh, drawing blood as the cat used Niernen as leverage to jump up onto a nearby low wall, before then using that wall to leap up to the rooftops once again getting away from Niernen... A frustrated yell echoed throughout the streets, several Shinobi recognizing it from their own experiences with catching the cat as a Genin... Some even cringing at the memory.

Temporarily wrapped up in the burning pain and itching the ran along his back Niernen had lost site of the cat, causing even more frustration to mount. He was quickly wishing he could kill the damned bastard... But alas, harm the cat, fail the mission... And as much as he wanted too... He needed the money.

Thus Niernen was once again off searching for the feline. Unknown to him it had returned to the park, making itself comfortable in an acorn tree. Minutes turned into half an hour, before that became two hours... A tiring Niernen slowly made way to the park, set on relaxing against a tree before setting off in search yet again.


*conk, thud, conk* Niernen's eye twitched, once, twice, thrice! As acorns fell from above, landing dead center on his head. Growling the blonde was on his feet in seconds before *smack* an acorn smoked him in the face... "Dah fuck!" He roared, spotting the cat up in the tree. "Oi! Cat! Get the hell down here!"

The cat only seemed to snicker before launching a few more acorns at Niernen, this time though the blonde Genin saw them coming and dodged with ease. This continued for a few moments until... A gentle meow replaced falling acorns. While pelting Niernen with acorns it had come to a realization... It couldn't get down.. Thus the meowing. Snickering to himself Niernen looked at the cat, a vicious glint in his eye. "Ohhoho! Little kitty can't get down huh!? kekeke Maybe I should leave yah there!" The cat's reply was another desperate meow...

Sighing to himself Niernen reached up to the cat, grabbing it, but not before threatening to stuff it back in the tree if it ran off again. The cat seemed to shrink into itself as Niernen made way for its home, the only thing on his mind, training, and getting a new cloak.. Damn cat...

Getting back to the house Niernen was greeted by Kimi's loud squeal as she rushed to grab the feline from him. The cat's resulting panicked meow was quite rewarding and caused Niernen to grin almost evilly at it, causing Kimi's father to sweat a wee bit. Approaching the man Niernen spoke up, "Caught your damn demon cat... Bastard ruined my cloak... my precious cloak..." This just caused the man to sweat some more as he handed the Genin a note stating the missions completion. "Thanks for bringing it back.. Kimi really missed the poor thing." The father voiced, only to get a shrug from Niernen as he turned and walked away. He hoped to never see the cat again.. But knew it likely wouldn't be so.
