- Spoiler:
First Name: Sheffield
Last Name: Onmyoton
Alias: Enchantress, Witch of Chaos, Diva of Requiems
Gender: Female
Age: 20 yrs old
Height: 5'8''
Weight: 125lbs
Birthday: January 23
Sexuality: Bi-sexual
Relationships: friend of Eden
Affiliation: Ouroboros
Rank: Jounin
Element: Onmyoton, Yoton, Inton
Specialization: Genjutsu, Ninjutsu
Personality: Sheffield has a very destructive nature, she is naturally cynical and trusts very few people. She is shrewd in her decisions and actions; ever calculative of benefits versus failures. She has very little regard for those around her, when she has a goal; she will walk on top of others to achieve it. She speaks her mind when necessary, but keeps her thoughts to herself for the most part- often times she will give the wrong notions to people or subtly hint to ulterior lines of reasoning or judgment to manipulate those around her.
She is not shy nor hesitant when around others, rather she is someone who stands out amongst peers and will impress others with her leadership/motivation skills. She is very patient and understanding despite her lack of regard for those around her, she understands that time is the closest ally and foe- given in time, events can transpire for her benefit or be the demise of someone standing in her way. How loyalty is solely to the one person she chooses to protect; she has no self-value but for the value she can place in others- most people are not worth her time... so when she finds someone to place value in, she dedicates all her thoughts and actions into providing opportunity & success for that person. She will break laws and bend rules/ideals to get what she wants or for the person she wishes to help; being an outcast of common society would not bother her, she would gladly be a martyr for someone she desires to help achieve a greater goal.
She has great confidence in herself and her abilities, varying from her astounding physical features that can lure and deceive nearly any man and some women, to her voice which can take the breathe away from those listening and her imagination which gives her unbridled creativity and intellect. She has a severe god-complex and views most everyone around her as lesser beings who do not deserve her time, thoughts or words- as such, she is often alone and feels lonely. She often sings songs she has written or ones she enjoys listening to; she enjoys singing to such an extent that she has named her jutsus as titles of requiems to her god Chaos.
Likes: Sheffield does not like many things, while this may make her seem simple or uncomplicated this is hardly the case. Of the things she does like, these include strong government structure, her role-model Eden Shinteki, her village, the colors black and purple, sweet foods(such as candy or cake) and solitude(from others)
While she doesn't like the common masses, she can't deny the joy and productive outcome to manipulating them. So while she may dislike large masses of people, she enjoys the benefits of manipulating them to extents such as causing small conflicts, wars and whatever else violent or non-violent actions to accomplish the goals she has set out for.
Dislikes: Sheffield dislikes the common masses of people because of their sheer ignorance. She only stays near them so that she can manipulate them when possible. She also dislikes spicy food, loud people if overly social people.
Spicy foods are repulsive and hard to handle for her, she has a delicate form of tastes and her tummy doesn't take kindly to strong spices.
Loud people are a constant bother to her, they never seem to understand their surroundings or the people around them- this shows how ignorant they really are and how easy it is to manipulate them or know what their intentions are. While she may hate these people, she doesn't fear them because they are that predictable, they pose little threat to her.
Motivation: Sheffield admires her friend Eden and wishes to one day protect her friend and follow her in what decisions she chooses. She wants to see her village grow in power and no longer fear war with other villages.
Sheffield would go as far to become an outlaw and pose a greater threat than the village of Tsukigakure to see that it lasts longer than any other village; though she hates her own clan and has rejected the village, she still cares greatly for her friend Eden and wants to see the cusses of her friend.
Fears: Sheffield fears other people with high intelligence, she is very shrew and careful when dealing with these people. Along with this, she fears having her secrets or schemes revealed and ruined. She fears dying before she can accomplish her goals.
She tries very hard to seem non-complicated and even goes as far as to kill certain people who uncover her secrets. Above all, she fears for her friends to uncover the truth of her intentions and then be rejected by them.
Onmyoton Clan Bloodline Name: Onmyoton(Yin-Yang Release)
Bloodline Ability: Techniques make simultaneous use of Yin Release and Yang Release. Yin relates to one's spiritual energy and Yang relates to one's physical energy and it's necessary to utilize both of these in order to mould chakra for ninjutsu. According to Yamato, the manipulation of Yin and Yang is the source of non-elemental techniques such as the Shadow Imitation Technique, Multi-Size Technique, medical ninjutsu, genjutsu, etc.
The Sage of the Six Paths had such a mastery over the Yin–Yang Release that he used Yin to create form from nothing, and then used Yang to breath life into what he has created. He could even make them come to life.
This ability allows for conjuration of set objects from one's mind and given physical form, size & sentience. Objects can be created through mental thought or Genjutsus itself. Such things include but not limited to non-elemental attacks, golems, weapons, armor, clones & landscape.
Location: Tsukigakure
Clan History: The Onmyoton clan is a very small clan and has been for many many years, they are a secretive clan and will not willingly show their jutsu to others- their jutsu consists of using both light and shadow, they do not specialize in "normal" or "Advanced" elements- every single member of this clan specializes in either light or shadow and the 2nd as a secondary: only the advanced or naturally talented may blend their elements to create the Onmyoton.
Their history is shrouded in mysteries, often they eliminated important people even from within their own village to keep their clan's abilities a secret- only a handful of important people know of their kind of power and those people are well trusted but always being watched. The clan lives like any other ninja in the village, but they go to secret meetings and constantly check up on the members of the clan. Most of the ninja from this clan are assassins, they kill targets who the ruling government wants dead using their unique elemental properties which are hard to combat against.
In older history, it was this clan who assassinated several prominent figures in other villages and eventually caused a ninja war: any news of this was instantly eliminated and the clan blended back into the shadows and light alike.
History: Overview
Sheffield was an only child in her family; her family was one of the most reputed families in the Onmyoton clan and specialized in assassination. Her parent' powers were feared so much that even their own clan conspired against them, for they feared that their secret would be revealed- the clan values secrecy over life itself. Her parent's were assassinated right in front of her very eyes during one of their clan's bi-annual meetings; she was spared because she was just a young girl when this happened and she was adopted by another one of the families, one of the very families that envied her parent' power and assassinated them.
She was not vengeful towards the clan however, she understood that secrecy was the most important aspect of life and understood that her parents threatened to destroy the delicate balance. While growing up, she often saw these kinds of acts within the clan and was used to them; often whole families were "silenced" Thus the reason why the clan is so small and consisting of elite ninjas from several generations. Sheffield focused on her parent's goals of becoming one of the most powerful ninjas, but she vowed that she would not endanger her clan like her parents had- instead she would work behind the scenes most of the time and influence others to do her work.
Yet again another tragedy befell her "family" when her new family was "silenced" and she was spared yet again, this time she had been in the ninja academy and felt remorse for having her second family taken away- this time it was for simple revenge however and she knew the reasons and the perpetrators. From then on, she was old enough to take care of herself and lived on her own. She trained daily in her house left by her rich family and went only to school long enough to learn what was necessary, most of her teachers didn't even know she belonged to the class despite her attendance throughout the years. Her desire was to perfect the art of killing: assassination. She would delve into her elements and find that she was adept in using both elements and even mixing them to create small forms of the Onmyoton, though she never revealed this to anyone.
The clan was very destructive by nature from their constant inner-clan family wars and battles, sometimes the clan leaders would "silence" both families to keep things from getting out of hand: this led to the ever decreasing numbers of families within the clan and they began to disappear from society more and more- now that Sheffield is older, it is even difficult to tell who belongs to the clan because everyone is so secret. Only the heads of the families now attend the bi-annual meetings, of course Sheffield shows up, but always hides in the shadows; so she knows several of the families.
Sheffield stared up at the night sky, it was so clear and cool- the stars were out and shining brightly. Normally one could not see the stars because of all the firelights in the village of Tsukigakure, but Sheffield was far away from the village this evening; she was camping many miles away in a forest by herself. She was on a journey to track a particular man who had abandoned their clan and was setting off to start somewhere else. The elders feared this man would reveal their secrets and had requested her aid in "silencing" this man. Two of the elders of the clan had approached her house during the previous night, it was a great honor and they had come at different hours to avoid suspicions.
They explained to her at length of the man's past dealings and his family that was no more, they expressed their concern for this man who had voiced his opinion on leaving the clan to start out his own destiny. Recently there had been some unrest in the clan because of opposing ideals, this man was one of the people at the heart of the idealism: they hoped that once he was dead and his corpse brought back to serve as a warning, then the unrest would return to peace. She had agreed to the mission and knew that failure would mean death to herself as well: she had taken the mission seriously and had spent the whole next day observing this man- the elders' suspicions were true, the man had spent the whole day collecting traveling materials and setting his house in order for his departure.
Sheffield did not need to pack anything herself, she knew that she would return before she got too far away from the village; the elders had arranged for her return into the village to be a secret when she brought back the corpse of the traitor- she was well on her way to becoming a hunter with her current reputation.. if she could manage this assassination without problems, she was certain she would be well on her way to becoming too valuable an asset to "silence" This man was going to be pronounced as a missing-nin that very evening and surely some hunters would be sent to take the man back alive, dead if necessary- the elders wished to avoid contact with other ninja for fear of revealing their secrets so they had sent Sheffield instead. The mission was not supposed to be easy, the man was at least one generation older than Sheffield, but he did not specialize in assassination: so long as she could get him by surprise, there was no need for worry.
Her campsite was less than a mile away from the man's campsite, he had a fire built and was enjoying a meal: Sheffield ate in darkness with no fire and had her sleeping spot hidden in a hole in a tree where she could monitor the man from a short distance away. Her intent was to get the man while he was sleeping, but the man was somewhat aware that he might be followed; however he had still built his campfire too big and was too relaxed for possible dangers, his errors would be his undoing. She figured that the man would be awake and alert for another couple hours before he drifted off to eternal bliss- her intent was to strike while he was sleeping to avoid direct confrontation or attracting others nearby... if there were others.
She looked at the waning moon, by the time the sun came up- there would be hunters out looking for this man and she intended to be back in her own bed by then. The moved about a little in her hiding spot, it was not the most comfortable hiding place, but it provided her with plenty of weatherization and concealment. The only problem was the she was somewhat taller than the average women her age and her boobs were a bit bigger, her legs were brought up to her chest and pressed against her breasts in the hiding spot so that she was basically in fetal position vertically. She closed her eyes and relaxed for a short light sleep.
She opened her eyes and immediately knew something was wrong, the moon was much lower on the opposite side of the mountain than she had expected, timing as everything in this kind of work and she berated herself for sleeping a little too long. She rolled forward and out onto a tree branch, she gazed at the man who was just now stirring- apparently he had planned to sleep a short period before continuing his escape in the darkness of twilight. Sheffield jumped from tree to tree as she closed in on his position, he had rolled up his sleeping mat and was throwing dirt on top of the coals of his fire. He was so in focus on preventing his fire from being noticed that he did not notice Sheffield close the distance on the open field.
Sheffield had drawn a kunai from her pouch and was preparing to stab the man, she was almost within reach when the man turned around suddenly and saw her; at first he shied away but then realized she was younger than him. Instantly he assumed he could overpower her in a straight-out fight, he guessed she was a assassin since she had been able to track his movements and this situation was favorable to him.
A shame a pretty girl like you will not be able to report back to the elders with my body, instead I'll leave your corpse here for the hunters to find and slow them down. The man pulled out two kunais and threw one of them at her feet while he rushed forwards. Sheffield back flipped backwards and brought her kunai up to bloc the man's lunge, sparks flew off their blades as they clashed and the two ninjas eyes shined with fierce determination. There was a difference in their eyes however, in his eyes there was a wild fired fueled by fear and the desire to flee with haste. In her eyes there was a calm passionate fire, she enjoyed the opportunity to practice her art of killing- anyone could kill silently, but it took a real talented person to master the silent killing AND defeat an enemy in straight-out combat.
The calmness over her personally disturbed the man, he had expected her to be caught off-guard and falter, which would give him the chance to land a quick killing blow. Her composure unnerved him however and he found himself losing the battle of bravery and patience. A quick foot technique caught the man surprised and he stumbled to the side to keep his balance while still holding her weapon at bay, unwillingly, he used his free hand to reach out and steady himself on a nearby tree. This was the moment Sheffield had hoped for, she had been using both of her hands to "repel" his kunai- making the man think that she was far weaker than him, but this was not the case. Sheffield specialized in taijutsu and intermediate use of weapons like senbon, kunai & shurrican; she was more than strong enough to clash blades with a man in battle.
Instantly she drew another kunai from her pouch as she used her free hand, the man watched in horror as in one quick movement, she brought the edge of the blade against his throat and twisted it sideways. She felt his skin tear and blood poured out onto her arm; his strength ebbed away and he fell to his knees and looked up at her helplessly.
Your treason against the clan has caused the calling of your "silence" know that beyond this life, only you are at fault for this. She brought her foot up to his chest and kicked him backwards onto the grass, she wanted his blood to not touch the ground if possible- only to rest on his clothes. The killing blow had been messy and surely there would be a few blood stains on the grass that one might find if they were skilled enough. The man died in silence in only a few seconds, his skin had paled from the loss of blood: when she was certain he was dead, she picked up his body and slung it over her shoulder... he was heavier than she had expected. It would be only an hour or so before sunlight began to bathe the forest by the time she reached the village gates.
She traveled as fast as she dared in her concealed state amongst the forest, carrying the heavy man did nothing but decrease her speed. Sure enough, by the time she reached Tsuki gates, the sun was only an hour from rising- two guards were at the gate. She recognized them immediately as two members of her clan, the elders had managed to switch out the normal guard for two clan members and now she was able to enter the village unnoticed. They nodded their heads in approval and allowed her entrance, she traveled quickly amongst rooftops and alleyways to where the elders always met. The building was a large gathering place for their village and only one light held a candle in the window- a signal for a secret meeting amongst the elders.
Sheffeild swallowed her anticipation and stealthily made her way to the building, a single guard saw her approach with the body and allowed her passage, the elders had notified Kirizan of her coming told him to let her pass. Kirizan was a skilled ninja within the clan who specialized in straight-out combat and left no survivors. Kirizan nodded his head as she walked by. Inside, Sheffield could hear the mumblings of the elders several rooms away: she stopped at the double doors ahead and knocked- instantly the talking stopped and a pause went passed before someone opened the doors.
It was an elderly man who shown his age upon his body, he had a beard down to his waist and very wrinkled skin. He smiled at seeing her and allowed her inside, one elder stood up suddenly and yelled.
What is the young assassin doing here? Sheffield should no-He stopped suddenly when she dropped the body at his feet, this elder had been much younger and more brash: it was suspected that he supported extremist ideas of migrating clans. She intentionally dropped the body at his feet and grinned slightly as he jumped backwards when the corpse' blood splashed on his feet. The two elders who has requested the mission from her(one being the elder who opened the door) winked at her as they approved her action- they disliked this younger elder and now had the opportunity to "silence" him. The elder with the beard turned to the younger elder.
Elder Toriku, Sheffield is here upon our request to return with the body of the many who needed to be silenced of his treason... it is in light now, with proof... that you supported this man with funding and inspired his radical ideals. With no word of command or sign, Sheffield drew a kunai and lunged into the elder; her kunai taking him straight in the heart as her opposite elbow knocked the wind from his lungs to prevent him from screaming or alerting anyone. A couple elders were surprised at Sheffield's action, but the two elders who requested her were not surprised and their composure settled the other elders. Elder Toriku gasped for air and looked down in horror at the blade penetrating his heart, his body fell limp and he died before he dropped lifeless beside the other corpse.
Mission complete, Elder JugoThe old man nodded his approval and dismissed her, she turned and bowed to all the elders and drew her kunai from the fresh corpse and back-stepped into the shadows before she disappeared into the night air. Within minutes, she was back in her own bed and fast asleep. A smile of satisfaction upon her lips, knowing that she had done the right thing for the survival of their clan's secrets.
Ouroboros- Life of duty:
A cold blooded killer, that was what she had been raised to be since a very young age; just like most of the rest of the children in her clan. Their clan had much pride in their secrecy and ideals they instilled into the younger generation of shinobi: their children would grow up to be some of the very best shinobi with truly frightening skills. Sheffield was just an off product of their intentions, but she was a shining beacon for the example of what the elders in her clan strived to be.
After her life had been severed with her real family and was adopted the by different clan members, Sheffield devoted herself to becoming the best new generation possible, survival was the number one directive in her life. Simply failing in a critical mission could cost you your life... not something she planned to do, ever. She had killed anyone the elders asked of her, mostly as a whole circle of elders... but sometimes she took requests from them separately in secrecy. Few children her age were still alive, most of them had been test products for the next generation... so constant surveillance of Sheffield part of her reason why she strived to stay alive.
By completing missions and requests perfectly, ensured that she would retain her life and freedom. Freedom was a misused word though, she was actually trapped in a cycle of death and she couldn't see it until it was too late.
- Betrayal:
All of her life, she had only desired to live by serving the elders; but that in itself, was her downfall. She had once killed an elder in front of the rest of the elders- it had been a solidifying response to ensure her immediate safety. The elders had respected her and seen her as a shining star for which they hoped to achieve with the next generation of children. They let her live a small simple life without interruption except when they requested her assistance; though they always kept her monitored.
That action of killing a clan elder had been a miracle for her, but it had also been a death sentence later in her life. As her talent and "fame" became apparent to all the elders, it became more clear to them that she was a dangerous prodigy- capable of killing the elders themselves without blinking an eye if she was told to. They had created the perfect killer, too perfectly. They grew to fear her and her power, not just her shinobi skills, but her influential powers of speaking straight to the hearts of people when she was required to. On a few requests, Sheffield had spoken to masses to incite certain feelings within them; it had worked like a charm and gotten the response the elders desired.
Now that very skill was what condemned her in their eyes, they feared her too much to take immediate action... but they had planned to deal with her soon.
Sheffield had found her life long talent as a "star" a singer or diva, she sang requiems that she had written; mostly symbolic for her life of strife and death. Her songs had become popular amongst certain citizens of Tsukigakure and beyond, as her fame continued to grow- so did the fear and hatred of her clan elders. They had had enough, it was time to silence this prodigy before it was too late. Had she been raised with other children her age in the same type of environment, she might not have shined so brightly- but you know what they say "Those who shine the brightest, burn the fastest."
It happened on a night right before her great performance at a festival sponsored by the village, the village was promoting trade and merchandise with other villages and would use a festival to incite feelings of grandeur into the potential business partners and buyers. Sheffield had been requested to attend the festival and provide a few songs to instil such desired effects in the market.
The stage had all ben set up and the festival was in full swing, Sheffield was in an unusually cheery mood and had subconsciously lowered her guard. Such was always the case right before she sand or made speeches, she had to get into a mindset where she could "pull in" everyone and aid them in understanding how she felt or thought. She had been monitored for a long time and her elders knew this by now, that was when they sent the six assassins.
The assassins were nothing more than young teenagers, all from her clan- the younger generation. Five females and one male, they gave off a silent puppet-like vibe as they worked together in unison to entwine her in a genjutsu. Sheffield was no novice at illusions, but the power of six shinobi combined working against you... was a truly frightening prospect. They could work in silence and kill you effectively without leaving a hint of damage on your body.
It was a hopeless venture, had Sheffield been guarded, she might have seen them coming and prepared adequately to counter them. Now though, she was powerless and struggled to stay out of any genjutsu for more than a few seconds. The young assassins' goal was to kill her without any mark on her body so that it looked like an accident to the public. The clan elders would smooth things over with the village to ensure peace and silence was kept. Sheffield cursed herself for being so blinded by her clan's vision that she hadn't been able to see how expendable she really was.
Then it happened, it was almost as if in slow motion; between her "waking" consciousness between the genjutsus... it was like slow motion blinking as she stood perfectly still- trying to stay aware as she noted the shadowy robed figure suddenly appeared in front of her and swing some weapon. All six heads rolled off the shoulders of the assassins and blood sprayed upwards over both her and the mysterious savior. The bodies fell to the ground and soaked the earth where they stood.
Sorry, I'm a fan of your songs... I couldn't just let them go and kill my little diva, could I?
Sheffield had difficulty understanding, she was still partially trapped in a genjutsu... or was this the genjutsu itself? The shrouded man wore a black and red cloak and a mask and carried some large weapon- he turned around to face her and stood close. One clean chop to the back of the neck and he tossed her into subconsciousness to dispel the genjutsu. Her life in Tsukigakure was over, whether she wanted it or not. The elders would blame the death of the six assassins on her and a manhunt would be sent out shortly- he planned to be far away with his little idol before then.
- New Life:
Sheffield had little difficulty adjusting to the new life of "nothing" She was an apt girl, capable of thriving in any environment; even if that meant being a nobody all the time, just to survive. The organization that had taken her in, were misfits and rejects like herself mostly; they had monitored her for a long time, possibly just as long as her own clan had?
The difference was that they held a personal interest in her and respected her as an individual- she didn't fear them attempting her life. She no longer cared about being an outcast and felt "at home" with these people, even though they had no place to call their own. They were exiles, outcasts and rejects from all across the land- hunter and persecuted, but only by their appearances, for no one knew their identities yet... or so she assumed.
This was her new life, a life she would accept and let become part of her.
She hadn't needed a lot of convincing, with nothing else to live for; she would try her luck at a new life, one where she controlled from the shadows. Her life had been reborn then, a new life; an Ouroboros life.
RP Sample: Sheffield stared up at the night sky as she lay on a rooftop in Tsukigakure; it was a peaceful night and everyone was enjoying a small festival. She enjoyed watching from a short distance above everyone but not being down there herself. She liked to influence the masses actions and thoughts, but didn't like to be thought of by them unless she intended to so that she could further her goals.
In its own way, it was beautiful to watch the bodies of people, all doing the natural parts of life that proved their existence. Sheffield was not in that spectrum of reality, she was the embodiment of imagination and desire, her clan lived solely for assassination and creating anything from nothingness; they were the personification of everything that humanity wasn't. She often wondered herself if she was really human, or was she just the figment of a mass collection of like-minded thoughts.
Regardless, she pushed those thoughts away and enjoyed the night, right now she was "alive" and lived the life she chose. She wouldn't have t any other way.
Tonight is going to be an interesting night~Indeed it was, she saw a parade headed towards the central plaza where everyone was celebrating. Despite being in the shadows and out of the minds of the people, she would enjoy their smiles, laughter and merriment- the parade was nice at least and managed a small chuckle from the girl on the rooftops.
