Affiliation: Kusamuragakure (The Jungle Village)

Element: Lightning, Water, Wind
Specialization: Bukijutsu, Ninjutsu, Taijutsu
Personality: Cocky and arrogant, Shin is an excessivly proud young man, relying on himself and no one else. Shin is not weak, and he knows it, and often he gets himself into trouble with his ego. Plain and simple, he doesnt know when to stop talking. And even when he is already in hot water, his ego demands that he keep going, keep pushing the limits, to find out just what he can do, both through being allowed and through what he can take.
Shin does not do well with authority, a part of his ego. He hears an order and his first instinct, the first order of his ego is to go the other direction, to completely ignore it. He always thinks he is right, even in the face of over whelming evidence, even when he knows himself he is wrong, he will refuse to admit his error and will stubbornly argue the point. On top of this, Shin has an extremely short temper, and can be very childish in his actions and how he takes things.
Despite his ego, Shin can sometimes display a side of himself that is......not quite likeable, but maybe a bit less hateable, especiaslly when doing something he enjoys like listening to music or just hanging out. Shin is very much a typical young adult, arrogant, prideful, and capable of moments of impressive amd admirable behavior. Some times anyway.
Likes: Shin really likes listening to opera music and can often be seen with a pair of headphones on, listening to classical opera music. He wont go near some stuff though, for a reason he wont share.. He also enjoys energy drinks, though even he couldn't tell you why, and he has a fascination with machines, his room is full of disassembled, and partially reassembled, items like radios televisions.
Dislikes: Shin has a big head, and so when someone starts talking down tohim or underestimating him, he gets very aggressive. He also has an extreme dislike of carrots. And broccoli. And cucumbers.....in fact, he hates all vegetables. He is a self proclaimed carnivore and only eats vegetables when he has to, usually having been made by his grandfather.
Motivation: Shin has a strong desire to prove himself, to show everyone just how great of a ninja he is. He will often step over friends and put himself in incredibly dangerous positions, just to prove his own worth, as much to himself as to others. He also holds a strong loyalty to his village though, a healthy check that keeps his need for approval from forcing him across a line.
Fears: Shin is terrified of three main things. The first one is easy to figure out, he is afraid that when he dies, no one will remember anything, and everything he did will be forgotten. His second fear is a bit of an odd one, for someone from te jungle. Shin is scared of rodents, especially mice. His third real fear is his mother. She scares the crap out of him.
Masutomi Clan Bloodline Name: Raiton Taiga Jutsu
Bloodline Ability: TheRaiton Taiga style centers around specialized Masutomi weapons, long claw like gauntlets. Each ninja rank has its own specialized weapon and special jutsu for that weapon. Also, the clan shares the common element of lightning.
Location: Kusamuragakure
Clan History: The Masutomi clan is an old clan from the hidden jungle village, with its founding members among the first to live in the village. Their unique claw weapons and fiery red hair have for a long time singled them out on the battle field, and for this they have had to become very proficient in battle. Originally the clan used swords instead of the claws, until the great Reshindo Masutomi first introduced the claw to the clans armory, as an agreement with the entity Raiton Taiga, a powerful tiger spirit. Many years ago, Kuramuragakure was on the brink of destruction. In desperation, Reshindo turned to the spirit world seeking aid, and came in contact with Raiton Taiga in the form of a massive tiger with a golden crown. Raiton Taiga agreed to lend Reshindo his power to defend his beloved home, in exchange for dedicating his clan to the teachings of the mighty Storm Tiger. Reshindo readily accepted.
From that day, the Masutomi have shared a common element, lightning, a gift from Raiton Taiga, and have trained hard to master the claws that were given to them, as a show of fealty and respect for their clan spirit.
The Masutomi have served as guardians for the jungle village for generations, wether the village wanted them to or not, and more than once they have found themselves at odds with the leaders of the village. Twice the clan has been forced out, though always welcomed back whenever trouble arises. Currently the clan is on reasonable terms with the village head, but that can often change.
History: Shin was the first grandchild born to the current clan head, Sanguir Masutomi. He was born outside of the jungle on a routine patrol mission that his mother refused to be left out of. Shin was born two months early however, and the mission was cut short in order to rush the mother, and the very weak, newborn Shin, to the hospital.
Shin ended up spending six years as a weak, sickly child, while his parents were sent on a mission to another village, and most of the clan came to assume that he would not have a future as a ninja, due to his poor health. However, Sanguir Masutomi refused to believe that his grandson, the supposed third in line for his own position, should be given up on so easily. And so Sanguir took it upon himself to personally train Shin, and began a rigorous diet and work out regime, often taking Shin out with him on private, one-on-one missions in the jungle where he personally saw to Shin's training. The intense training paid off. Shin's health and strength began to improve at a rapid rate, and soon, to the approval of his clan and grandfather, Shin began to show true strength, and the ability for being a ninja.
Soon, Sanguir started taking his grandson on more difficult, and more dangerous, missions, holding off on Shin's enrollment into the official ninja school until he could guarantee Shin's strength and preparation. After all, he doubted that Shin's poor health had been kept strictly within the Masutomi clan, despite his express orders. Sanguir took great pride in his grandsons excellent improvement, and even started Shin on the path to creating his own jutsu.
Once Shin was enrolled properly, he excelled in his classes, even if he was a fair bit older than the others enrollies. And, as his grandfather had suspected, news of his illness had not been kept secret. Shin met with would be challengers all over the place, newbie ninjas who thought that by defeating a member of the Masutomi clan, they could give themselves a bit of a reputation. Shin had been for warned by his grandfather however about the young, but daring, ninjas he would face however, and he put each of them down with relative ease, making himself a reputation instead. He left the academy and joined the genin ranks with high marks, and was awarded his genin claws by his grandfather with pride, and he is now on his way to meet his new instructor.......
RP Sample: Shin sat quietly in a tree, watching as a large boar lumbered by. The boar was not a natural inhabitant of these lands, it had wandered in from the south, and it hadproven itself to be quite the nuisance, with so few natural predators around. It had been allowed to live by the other creatures of the jungle and had now become a true threat to the jungle. The Masutomi clan had been asked to deal with this porky pest and Sanguir himself had accepted the mission, taking his grandson along with him. Shin had only graduated yesterday, and this was his grandfathers final hurrah with him, the last hunting trip they would share for some time. Shin would savor it.
He waited patiently for boar to wander by, letting it wander further into the trap he and his grandfather had laid. They doubted this creature could be a true threat to either of them, but they were not about to take the chance of being wrong. Shin grinned as he spotted his grandfather across the way, holding the other end of a line. A line of kunai, buried just under the dirt. Sanguir held most of the line, with several other kunai, and Shin held the short end. The plan was simple. Once the boar was in position, Shin would take off with the line, while Sanguir fed itout, letting the line gut the boar like a chainsaw.
Shin grinned even broader as his grandfather gave the signal, and Shin took up, leaping into a tree and taking off, so that the line of kunai would be yanked up into the pigs belly, and then dragged across the boars belly, the small knives easily digging in to the soft underbelly and tearing the flesh away. The boar let out an ear splitting squeal and instinctively charged, catching the line with his hind legs. Sanguir saw this and was able to letgo. Shin did not however, and was no match for the massive boars sheer power, and he was subsequently torn from his tree., to come crashing down into the brush. He stubbornly refused to letgo however, and was dragged for a few dozen feet, before the sheer blood loss finally stopped the boar.
When he finally righted himself, he saw his grandfather laughing hystericly as he sat on the huge hump of the pig. "Well, perhaps you aren't as ready as I thought, if a single pig can outsmart you." the large, seemingly ancient man said before bursting into another fit of giggles. "Come, lets get this porkster back to the clan. Tonight, we eat like kings!"
