I've asked what exactly these were in chat before, however something came up that made the answers I received make no sense.
What I am asking is: What exactly are these? How do you go about getting what you did classified as an outstanding accomplishment? What are some things people have done in the past?
I have gotten answers like taking over entire villages, but uh... someone mentioned on chat earlier that to become a Spec. Jounin, you need 3 outstanding accomplishments. No Chuunin can take over a village. Not alone.
If these cannot be CLEARLY and EASILY defined, I think we should implement a different system to go by. Because I KNOW that the point of this system is to make sure good RPers are the ones who become higher ranks, but even more so, I get the impression that it is to be sure the person is dedicated and can earn the trust to get the rank up, and NOT get it after a week or two.
What I suggest is a merit system. Similar, yet different. Ranks would require a certain amount of Merit Points (plus the EXP requirements and such that are already there) which can be awarded for many things. They can include, but are not limited to:
Recruiting members
Hitting milestones in post count
Prior accomplishments with other characters
Hitting milestones in word count for both entire topics and single posts
Winning events
Hitting milestones for number of RP topics participated in
There can be much more and you can even create a topic where members can suggest things. And remember, I am not trying to implement a new system here if the current one is not broken, but if these "outstanding accomplishments" cannot be clearly defined, I think they need to be replaced with something better.
EDIT: One more thing. If these ARE as drastic as taking over entire villages, shouldn't the number of outstanding accomplishments be lowered? I mean... that's some drastic ish.
