Village News
The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

Spoiler:

The black forest. It lived well to its name as the masked individual came to a stop just outside one of the many openings into the forest. He would raise a hand up and let it come to rest on a single tree that was closest to him at the time. His head would slowly raise itself up as he would use his free hand to make sure that the hood of his attire would not fall back too far as he looked up the tree. The bark of the tree's were darker and darker seemingly the further in that he looked, the leaves were no different as everything seemed to be next to dying but that was only in color.

Everything about the forest seemed to be perfectly normal and healthy from any other angle. He would then let his head fall back to look into the jungle of trees. The masked man would turn to look behind him and to the skies and as he had figured, the constant storms could be seen and he was sure that at some point, they would come to find him yet again but the roof of the forest looked actually pretty solid as not even much light from the sun was making its way through. He would then lean forward as he would make his way into the forest, his swords lightly grazing a nearby tree and cutting off a part of the bark and leaving a nice gash from the simple walk by.

Kazuma exhaled and wiped the sweat from his brow. He had spent the better part of his morning practicing his kenjutsu by himself. He really hated when his mother left for extended periods of time, because she always came back and immediately wanted to spar. If his skills weren't at least as sharp as when she left, she would drill him for weeks on training. Yui was a very caring and loving mother, but was ruthless when it came to training. Her standard regimen started before the sun rose and went on till it set. He shivered at the thought and picked up the old, rusted sword he had been training with.

Kazuma looked at the worn blade and let out a sigh. "I suppose that will do for today." he said sheathing the blade and unwrapping a lollipop. He looked around at the quiet clearing that he had become very familiar with. The dense canopy above him was enough to shield him from the elements and the sounds of the forest often kept him company through his training. The young shinobi smiled and started heading back home.

Blood On The Leaves Empty
PostSubject: Re: Blood On The Leaves   Blood On The Leaves EmptySun Mar 16, 2014 1:23 am

As the man continued through the darkened forest, the sounds of rain growing ever closer from the outer bounds of the forest. But that was not the most interesting thing that he heard amongst the brush. It would seem that he was not alone in the dark forest and he would not have thought that in the first place. If it was one thing he noticed was that there was always someone to be found but if that someone was worth finding, that was the real question.

But just where was this individual he would have to wonder, if it was one thing, the forest only got darker the further in that one would go and so with that in mind, just wandering around would prove fruitless if anything else. He did not want to take the chance of getting lost so that left him with few other options. He would slowly let himself lean down and softly remove a few leaves that were on the forest floor till grass appeared beneath it.

He would slowly and softly point at the ground and let his finger place itself onto the ground. He would then close his eyes behind the mask. "Chiton, Kotsuniku." As he spoke, his vision would darken as everything would fade from sight. He would then raise his attention upward as several things began to come to sight in the distance. There were several bird-look objects but looked more like they were made of solid blood but that was simply how the jutsu worked. He would begin to turn his head, looking for what was truly making the sounds that had interested him so and he found it not too far off.

It was then that he raised his finger from the ground and his vision came back to him as he stared in the direction of the body. There were now tree's upon tree's now in his way from his point to the other person but that could be rectified easily with a few quick sword strokes but causing havoc on the way to this person would only serve to show him in a negative light.

So, with that, he would simply begin to move in the direction of the person but not taking too long to finally come into visible sight of the young man, himself coming into sight as well for the man as he would stand there in silence, looking the man over from behind the mask, the first thing he took notice of was the sword on his person which would lead him to believe this was not a waste of time...yet.

PostSubject: Re: Blood On The Leaves   Blood On The Leaves EmptyTue Mar 18, 2014 9:05 pm

The sound of the encroaching storm told Kazuma he would probably have to walk home in the rain. His face broke into a grin. He loved the rain. It was very soothing to listen to and it just made him feel good. Like the world was healing itself. The shinobi reached out and patted a nearby tree, sure that it was also excited by the soon to come moisture. He himself was actually thinking about staying at the edge of the forest to watch the familiar weather pattern when he realized he wasn't alone in the forest. Striding his way was a strange figure who he had never seen in the village. The figure was clad in all black and appeared to have ninja equipment. In addition, it carried a pair of large swords strapped to it's back but it was the mask that held Kazuma's attention. He wondered vaguely what exactly this mysterious ninja was hiding they're identity for. He would have to be cautious here.

He gave a respectful nod to the figure. "Hello there." he called out, making sure to stay near cover in case of an attack. "Nice day for a walk deep into a forest huh?"

The masked man stood with no ill intent but no other motive or will for that matter. What he kept his attention on was the sword at the male's side. When words were spoken, the man would let his mask turn in such a way that the man would surely know that he was being looked at correctly. He would stand there in silence for more than a standard moment before finally speaking "It is. I was not aware that there would another swordsman around." He would then raise his arm up and point at the weapon that was on the other man's person.

"Your sword. That is your blade? May I see it."

The figure appeared to be looking at him and Kazuma looked back. There was a long pause after the words left Kazuma's mouth that seem to almost choke the air. The young shinobi was thinking about repeating himself just to break the awful silence when the figure finally spoke, with a man's voice. The title of swordsman was strange for Kazuma. He understood that he was no longer a novice in sword play, but he knew that he had a lot to learn. Then the man inquired about the sword he carried. He looked down at the weapon and suddenly felt embarrassed by the whole thing. He knew that the old blade wasn't a proper weapon for someone with that title, and the idea of showing it to a stranger felt unsettling. Then he looked at the other man's blades and an idea came across his mind. "Sure. If you don't mind, can I look at one of yours?" he asked moving closer.

The masked man remained motionless in his stance with the other man across from him. He knew that his request could easily be denied but on groundless claims as he would simply wish to look it over, not to hold it himself. A sword was something that its wielder had to take into consideration, one would never know what kinds of miscreants would try something silly and end up dead for the thought of taking another persons weapon.

It was then that a question was released to him  that mimicked his own. Asking about seeing one of his blades as consolation to which he himself would be rude to deny after asking first. The man would nod in agreement "Very well. It would only be fitting for me to share mine first." He would reach over his shoulder and take hold of the more famed weapon, Kubikiribōchō and pulled it over his shoulder, letting it come down slowly and softly to rest its curved tip on the ground below, just enough so that his holding it would not be much of a problem but not enough for him to let it cut into the ground and possibly dirty the pristine blade.

"A blade like no other. The Executioner's Blade." He would then let his attention fall back onto the other, awaiting the revealing of his own weapon of choice.

Kazuma stopped, a bit surprised that he the man actually agreed to his terms. The man then hauled one of the giant blades off his back and offered it up for inspection. Kazuma stared at it thoroughly impressed. The weapon was beautiful, and caused a low whistle to escape from Kazuma. "It is quite a glorious blade." he said with a smile. Then he looked down at his own blade and remembered the other part of the deal. "And as promised," he unsheathed his own blade and held it horizontally across his palms for inspection. He knew that it wasn't nearly as impressive, but a deal was a deal

The masked man held his sword with pride though his outward appearance would hold no signs of this. The sword remained motionless as the other shinobi moved closer to inspect it. He held no thought that this man would attack him but he was ready to switch onto an offensive if such a thing were to happen. He had his sword already drawn so that would only make things quicker for him. The man would let out a whistle at his sword so that meant that he knew either of its preciousness or that by its simple size that it was a worthy weapon.

As he spoke of the glorious appearance of the blade he would then backtrack onto the deal of showing his own sword. The masked man would turn his attention to the weapon as it was presented to him. There was a moment of silence. The mask would surely show that he was looking at the weapon. Surely this was either a keep sake or a memento. This couldn't possibly serve as a means of defense. He would then look back up to the man in the same silence that he held the entire time. He would then use his free hand to take the scabbard at his side and he would pull it out and up toss it out to the man and speak "Do battle with that blade."

To have a sword would mean that one was capable of using one. But to fight against such a rusted thing would mean it was not a fight or even a battle. He would give him the sword that he would never used but that did not mean that it was a weapon was any less than deadly, it could possibly be more than what he was used too but the weight of his weapons is what he prized most of all and this would show.

Kazuma waited as the man looked at the old blade in silence. It seemed to stretch on much longer than necessary and Kazuma was about to break it on his own when the man turned his attention back to him. What followed was even more silence. Kazuma took the opportunity to put his sword back in it's sheathe, if only to grant a small reprieve from the quiet forest. As he did the man threw another sword to him. He stared at the weapon in awe and then registered that there had been a statement tied to the action. "Wait. You want to fight?" he asked glancing at the weapon the man still had held off of the ground. Then he sighed. "What is it with people with big swords wanting to fight me lately?"

The masked man watched as the sword he let move through the air was caught by the man. Who knows how he might have reacted if the weapon was not caught, surely it would have been something of a catastrophe otherwise with nothing less than that brought down upon the forest around them. The sword was taken and all that was put behind them as the man would inquire about the fight that he had demanded.

He would then speak to him about 'big blades' and them wishing to fight him to which he would raise a brow behind his mask. When other weapons were involved, it increased his curious side of things and more so when it came to the sword and size usually meant strength and the possibility of a legendary weapon begin involved. "It is a life lesson that we all must learn. Rest is a luxury that sometimes must be put off." and with that, he would draw his foot back and throw it forward, kicking the blunt side of the large blade, letting it go flying at the man from a low angle that would threaten to cut him in half if not properly blocked or avoided.

Kazuma vaguely wondered what exactly was causing these unwarranted challenges. He shook his head a bit in disbelief at the man's response and saw a movement out of the corner of his eye caught his attention. Turning back around, he saw the foot make contact with the blade swinging it up. Survival instinct caused Kazuma to jump back, out of the blade's path and he placed his hand on the hilt of the sword. "Well, you're very insistent." he said, unsheathing the borrowed blade. It's sound was music to Kazuma's ears. "And here I was sitting here thinking we could get to know each other a little better." the shinobi joked as he held up the sword, ready for combat.

The masked man would let his sword cut up through the air, carving a nice line in the ground as it would miss its mark, something not unforeseen. His blade would continue through the air and slice through the area where the young man once stood. He would let it continue and twist in the air so that when it came down, it would land on his shoulder and with a bit of a bounce, it would rest there comfortably. "Insistent would be taking it lightly but I mean you no real harm."

He was then questioned about them getting to know one another to which he would reply "And we can. What better way to know someone than to know if they are strong or if they have the same interests. I enjoy the sword and you carry one on you. This is no battle to the death but it is better to see anothers skills first hand than to hear how you attack a tree or fight an invisible opponent." The masked man would then raise his hand to take his sword in both hands and throw himself at his foe, aiming to cut in a diagonal motion. "I have no problem with answering what ever questions you have to ask with few exceptions."

Kazuma chuckled at the man's request to test his strength. "Yea you sound exactly like someone else I just met recently." he said recalling his and Chiharu's encounter with Vex Xanadu. "She was pretty insistent as well." He saw the man take his sword in both hands and charged towards him and registered that he had been given permission to ask questions. He laughed again as he himself began to reel backwards from his attacker, activating his Byakugan. He saw the masked man's chakra open up before him. "Well here is one, where is everyone getting these oversized swords from?"

The masked man would watch as his strike would be evaded by a backward leap as he would let his sword come crashing down into the base of a tree, cleaving hard into its wood and sending a strong vibration up its trunk as he would keep his eye on the young man ever still and taking note of one thing that seemed to change. His eyes were...different. At first glance, one would think him blind but he was much to aware for that, even for such storybook feats that many would like to think all disabled individuals had super powers with their ears when they lost there sight.

He would quickly pull his sword straight out of the tree and reply "That is a very good question. Usually I don't see to many besides myself but I assume that people like to think that the larger the sword, the stronger they are..." He would move his sword to his hip as if to hold it in a sheath and in light motion, he would lean forward and water would burst from under his feet, jetting him forward and once within slashing range of his sword, he would quickly pull the sword around, letting it cut into the ground and aiming to come out of it and strike his foe from below as he would continue "...though I would test my blade against any of them to show that they are simple forgeries of masterwork weapons such as mine."

PostSubject: Re: Blood On The Leaves   Blood On The Leaves EmptySat Apr 05, 2014 10:59 pm

This situation wasn't looking too good. Kazuma had dodged the blow but he watched the aftermath as the blade dug itself into the tree and caused the entire tree shake. Well this is gonna be fun. he thought as he took a defensive position a few steps away. The man pulled the blade out of the tree and took a ready position. Suddenly, he surged forward, dragging his sword through the ground. Kazuma brought his sword in front of him to block the blow and braced the blade with his left hand.

The contact caused jarring pain to shoot through the young ninja's arms and the sheer force of the blow lifted him off of his feet. He felt himself fly upwards into space and finally felt his back hit against a tree. He quickly wrapped his arm around a branch and felt his arm in pain as it suspended his body. "You sure you're not trying to kill me?"  Kazuma asked, his smile faltering a bit as he winced in pain. He looked down and realized that he was at least a dozen feet off of the ground and decided to make the best of his situation. He channeled his chakra into his sword and and electricity began to dance along the length of the blade. He took a tighter grip on the sword and pushed off the trunk of the tree, diving down looking to slash across his opponent's chest.

The sword would move through a fluid motion through the ground, cutting it like a warm knife through cool butter. When it finally came into contact with something, that something would be his opponents blade that with the force behind his swing like usual, the impact was fierce. The younger man was lifted off his feet but that would be too simple. He was not only lifted from the ground but he would be sent through the air and up into the nearest tree. He would follow his fellow swordsman sail through the air and take hold of a branch. He was about to take the tree down entirely in fear that this man would take the time to play some sort of game of hide and seek in the tree tops.

But this was not the case as he spoke to the masked man about if he was sure that he was not trying to kill him. "Of course not." He was not able to continue his string of words as his foe would launch from his superior height position and instinctively he would raise his sword but it was not to the full extent that he wished. He wanted to be able to swat him from the sky but his speed was not as fast as the falling swordsman. He was only able to bring the sword up halfway as the sword would slam itself into his own and then he began to feel a tingle of electricity.

"You...are quite the something. I would have no reason to want to kill you. You know just how to hold a sword." He would not aim to distance himself from his foe or activate any jutsu, he would look to his sword as the blade of his was cut into, almost one forth into the metal from the single strike.

Kazuma felt the two blades make contact with each other. He had brought his full force down on his opponent but felt the resistance being put back against him. Just how strong is this guy? he wondered as he felt his feet make contact with the ground again. Then he realized that their blade were actually connected. Kazuma hadn't considered this result from his assault. His first reaction was that he felt bad. He quickly tried to withdraw his blade from the larger one. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to harm your swords. I'll pay for the repairs on them if necessary." he apologized quickly, cursing his brash thinking.

The masked man held his position and not moving from the spot where they had collided. He did not intend on moving himself from the spot unless forced but he was met with unexpected results. Due to the sudden clash of blades and the imbedded weapon in his own, the young man began to apologize for the damage and began to speak about how he would want to pay for the damage of the weapon he had just broke into.

There was a bit of silence as the masked man would look down to the embedded sword in his massive one. He would then turn his attention to the one that held the weapon that was in his sword "This is the Kubikiribōchō which literally translates to Decapitating Carving Knife and is also known as the Seversword. It is one of a set of seven swords known as the Seven Swords of the Sages and is one of a kind. There is no known blacksmith in the world that can replicate these weapons." There was a sudden change in his posture as his hand tightened around the handle of his sword as his bloodline limit kicked in.

"This weapon is not only irreplaceable but priceless beyond measure." His arms began to tighten and seemingly grow just a bit larger with the increased blood in them which would make swinging his weapon even faster and easier. He would raise his free hand and place it onto the sharp blade of the young man's sword as the electric nature began to shock him and cause his arm to begin to numb as he would force the blades to part from one another.

Blood On The Leaves Empty

Kazuma felt like eternity was stretching out before him as his apology was met with silence. When the man finally began to speak, he described the value and rarity of the sword. With every word, Kazuma felt worse and worse. He had no idea how he would be able to make up for the damage that he had done. He hadn't ever produced such results in his training and was just as surprised to see this happen. As he stared at the interlocked blades, he noticed something different in the man's arm. His Byakugan picked up on the surge of chakra as it moved to the masked man's arm. Then, before he could say anything, the man gripped the blade of the Kazuma's sword and began prying the two apart, not seeming to care much about the electricity still coursing through it.

Blood On The Leaves Empty
PostSubject: Re: Blood On The Leaves   Blood On The Leaves EmptyTue Apr 08, 2014 8:08 am

The masked man was in all intensive purposes on the verge of murder. The air he would give off as well as his posture would show that games were over and that his wrath was about to soon be unleashed. As he took hold of the electrified sword, the shock was there but with his own jutsu in effect, his muscles were mere instruments to his blood's will. In one swift and powerful motion, he dislodged the two sword and threw both the swordsman and the katana away from him as he would lift his sword up to his own eye level of the mask.

He would raise his free hand up and run it along the blade till it would reach the gash and stop it there. He would then look back to his finger to see the cut that he had just made, though minimal, it was just what he needed. He would then lower the sword and hold it in the grasp of both his hands and point it at the ground and slowly let it dig into it before looking over the handle at the electric jutsu of the sword. "But the only thing that will save your life..." He would then place his hand onto the broadside of the sword as he would let his bleeding finger rub against the metal of the blade. "...is that it IS repairable when in the right hands and those hands..."

He would increase the blood flow from his small cut to pour more blood onto the backside of the blade, it instantly absorbed the fluid and the gash in the sword seemingly self-regenerating till there was no sign of actual damage. "...are my hands." There was a light chuckle that came from behind the mask as his free hand would rise and cover where his mouth would have been as if he found something truly funny.

Blood On The Leaves Empty
PostSubject: Re: Blood On The Leaves   Blood On The Leaves EmptyTue Apr 08, 2014 8:47 am

Kazuma watched in mixed awe and horror as the man pried the two blades apart. Then he felt himself once again lifted off of the ground and thrown into the air. However, this was a much more vicious action compared to the last time he had been lifted by the man. He was able to twist himself in the air so that he wouldn't land on his back and landed on his feet and free hand as he slid away from the man. Though he couldn't see his face, Kazuma could feel the anger coming off of the man who was now almost twenty feet away.

He watched as his masked opponent made a cut in his hand and let it run across the blade. As the blood reached the damaged portion, the blood started disappearing into the sword and the incision itself began to disappear. Kazuma stood up as he watched the spectacle before him. "Well that was... a bit disturbing." he said as the masked man chuckled. "Must be a handy ability for a sword to have." he said, dismissing the jutsu still surrounding his sword, not wanting to tempt the man again with a repeated incident. "Where exactly did you get something like that?"

The masked man held firm to his sword as the other white eyed man seemed to be taken back by his posture and what would seem to be his increase in anger. But as his demeanor began to turn into a more pleasing one and away from one that was hostile, things began to calm down. At the speaking of how disturbing it was, the masked man would merely shrug lightly and dismiss the statement. "A very handy ability for those willing to risk themselves for the sake of their blade and to defeat the enemy at hand if time should rise to fight them."

The crackling of his sword slowly began ti dissipate till it was nothing more than a silent sword once again. It would then be brought up on where it was that he had gotten such a weapon to which he would turn his attention to the sword and seemingly look it over from behind his mask. "It was given to me by a member of the Ketsueki clan that resides in the hidden glacier. It has come in handy more than once in my life and I'm sure that its usefulness will only grow in the coming days."

He would then raise a free hand and point at the sword at the younger man's side "What about yours? Surely someone that carries around such a weapon has no intent on actually fighting with it. Why carry it at all?"

Kazuma listened to the man as he described the origins of his blade. He thought back to his recent confrontation with Vex and the powers that her weapon's held. He sighed as he realized that a great deal of clan artifacts should have such powers and was a bit ashamed that he didn't figure it out on his own. He found himself wondering if the Hyūga had such an artifact and made it a point to check next time he was in Tsukigakure when the man brought up his own weapon.

Kazuma looked at the old blade that he carried on his hip. "Well, truth be told I don't usually carry this blade. It's actually my mother's. She wanted to teach me keninjutsu and this is what I've been using for training." He paused for a moment before adding "Truth is, I don't actually have a sword of my own." He had been meaning to purchase one, but the opportunity had never presented itself to him. He let out a sigh and looked at the drawn katana that he held in his hand with longing. He sheathed the blade and tossed it back to the masked man. "Here you go. I don't wanna chance another situation like that so I think I'm done sparring for now."

The masked man had listened to what his sword wielding partner told him of the origins of the rusted blade that belonged to his mother. It seemed that it was her that set him down the path of swordsmanship to which would be an honorable path indeed. The masked man would then watch as he would take the blade and sheath the earthen blade and toss it to the original owner to which the masked man would raise a free hand and snatch the weapon out of the air as it came close enough.

The masked man looked down at the katana's hilt and then would raise his attention back up to the man as he spoke of not having a true blade to call his own. "It is one thing to train with a blade but it is even more so to have the proper tools to do so. I know the feeling of having the ability but not the means to make it a true fruition. " The masked man would then flick his wrist as the katana would spin around his hand in a twirling fashion and with another flick of the wrist, it would pop from his grasp and back toward the young man.

He would move his hand to the large swords on his back and then point at the sword that was now in the younger man's possession "I will reclaim that sword one day but for the time being, I think that I can make due without it. Take care of it, it is a special sword but I'll let you be the judge of how special it is. A sword is only as great as the one who wields it and I expect great things from you."
