The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

It had been less than 24 hours since she had been made an official genin of Boufuugakure (the shiny hadn't even had time to wear off of her hita-ate yet), and Miyuki found herself waiting as patiently as she could for the team she had been assigned to to arrive. As she waited, she wondered what her team would be like, and if they'd get along.
She also hoped that she wouldn't end up at a disadvantage having grown up in a civilian household. In theory it shouldn't have mattered if she came from a long line of shinobi or not, and certainly she'd maintained pretty good marks across the board, but the reality of it was different. Kids from ninja families more often than not started training earlier than kids from civilian families and were able to get help with their training from their ninja relatives. Not to mention any jutsus that might be handed down within a family. She didn't think that such things would hold her back all that much, but ultimately it all depended on what kind of team she ended up on; what if any jutsus her sensei would teach her (she'd of course heard the rumors about sensei who took a nearly completely hands off approach when it came to actually teaching their genin), and what her teammates' (if she had any) attitudes were like regarding civilian raised ninja (sadly there were always a couple of ninja who thought that only those raised by ninja should - or even could - be ninja; which never made sense to her since, didn't someone have to be the first ninja in a ninja family).

Kazuma found himself very nervous. This wasn't really a familiar feeling for him. He was on his way to meet his first student and wasn't really sure what he was going to do. He thought back to his own mentors and realized they wouldn't be much help. Takumi's training centered mostly around the Byakugan, and there was no way Kazuma would wish Yui's training regimen on anyone. That left his and Chiharu's sensei. Kazuma's worry drifted to the back of his mind as he smiled, recalling their mentor. The man had a bit of a drinking problem and a rough personality, but Kazuma couldn't imagine a better sensei for him.
Kazuma looked up in time to narrowly avoid bumping into a group of men who all seemed like they had drunk a bit too much. He looked around and realized that he was near park which was his destination. He walked around the corner and the park into view. Kazuma scanned the area and found a young girl with a brand new hita-ate and assumed that she was who he was here for. "Hey there. Am I correct in assuming that you are Miyuki?" he asked walking up to her.

Miyuki, who had embarrassingly enough been paying more attention to her own inner thoughts than to the world around her startled at being addressed; and perhaps for one solitary moment she even forgot to breathe. But to her credit, she was able to recover quickly. She nodded as she stood to face the man that she thought was to be her sensei. "Yes; I am Hasegawa Miyuki. It is a pleasure to meet you." she said with a bow. Once she straightened up, she waited for her maybe sensei to speak again; it never paid to be rude, her step-mother had taught her and doubtless it would be doubly so for the man who would hold her future in his hands.

Kazuma smiled as he looked at the new genin. "Well it's nice to meet you as well. I'm Kazuma Hyūga and I guess I'm your sensei." Kazuma recalled how excited and nervous he was when he first met his team and sensei. There was some tension at the beginning and he wanted to try to avoid such tension here. He sat down on the grass and looked up and his new pupil. "Well now that the awkward introductions are out of the way, why don't we get to know each other?" he said. "Tell me about yourself Miyuki. Where you're from, your likes, your dislikes, why you wanted to be a ninja, etc."

The land was arid, and the dust that filtered through the air as the wind carried it across the village was like a suspended blanket that only added to the lack of moisture present within his mouth. It perhaps did not help that Tategama had found himself a wall for which he could perch himself upon. While it brought him within the mercy of that stream of dust moreso than being grounded; the vision it allowed gave him access to the park he was told to arrive to, though on the other hand--it was far enough from it that his presence wasn't necessarily obvious to those he observed.
I cannot see much from here....
He didn't speak but rather thought this to himself as he rolled the ball of his palms along the grainy, and consequently rough texture of the top of the wall; slender digits sliding across the very height of the wall's face and both feet dangling as they swung to and fro; his heels patting against the wall as he watched them. His appearance matched the manner in which his demeanor was presented, a loosely-fitting shirt that has seen better days coupled with dark gray, almost black, shorts that ended just at his knees. As he was sitting, his knees would be visible, dirty from the village's less than immaculate environment.
He would remain there for a moment or so, his peculiar yellow hues remaining fixed upon the duo who were conversing. As it became evident that they were delving further into conversation and becoming familiar with one another--curiosity seemed to over ride his hesitation to approach. And so, as the thick within his palm continued to roll, inevitably coming closer to the edge, he pushed upon the wall's height and moved his form from it's grasp. He glided in the air as any normal person would do due to the momentum of his push before landing cleanly upon the dry earth beneath them all. He then began to walk.
His arms remained close to him, coiled around his girth to the front as they settled within a garment suspended around his chest--a green cloth riddled with yellow sun flowers that were decorative in theme. As he came upon the two, before then dodging the groups of people that were herded by duties within the village both professional and pleasure, he stopped at the opening of two walls before they met which led him into the park that they were at.
"Hello..."
With his approach, he found himself behind the jounin-sensei and to the side of the genin just enough to where she would have to either turn or even more move back to look around Kazuma to see him. With that said, his voice in composition was soft and friendly, not one that was often accompanied by the headband that stretched across his forehead.

"Well..." Miyuki began as she thought, biting at her lip absentmindedly. The likes and dislikes were easy enough to rattle off, taking little to no thought , but the other two - where she was from and why she'd decided to become a ninja - were a bit harder for her to answer. Unlike some of her (former) classmates, she hadn't been born in this village, but as her parents had come here when she was just a baby, this village was the only place she knew. And being refugees, her father and stepmother rarely spoke of where they had come from. And as for being a ninja, she couldn't really put her finger on why she'd decided on that. It just seemed like such a natural thing for her to do that it almost seemed silly of her not to. Luckily a distraction from her senesi's question presented itself (even if she couldn't quite see who it was who had spoken) "Oh hello?" she replied.

Kazuma watched his new genin struggle to find words. He could see that she was nervous and he understood. He gave her an encouraging smile and was going to give her words that went with the smile, but found himself interrupted by a voice from behind him. He turned to find that the voice belonged to a young boy. Kazuma looked the boy over, identifying that, despite the boy's strange garb, that he was a genin. He nodded back in greeting. "Hello there. Would you happen to be the other genin that I am to mentor?" he asked taking a look at the paper that held the information. "Tategama? If so please join us. We were in the middle of introducing ourselves."

It would be a thought exercised in fallacy to say that the boy before the two was not nervous, however he had learned overtime to stomach such emotions as a result of the daily routine he endured with his stern father. With that said, a gentle smile crept upon his features as those peculiar yellow eyes examined them more thoroughly now that they were face-to-face. The Jounin's eyes were odd, a depth which he had seen before in his ventures through the village as a student. As for the girl, he did not find any notable features other than her gender though an appropriate glance was given for acknowledgement.
When the Jounin spoke, instructing Tategama to assimilate into the group for introductions, he did so--venturing around the jounin so that he could formally do so. He realized he interrupted the conversation and so he simply awaited for them to proceed, the same smile equipped in the arsenal of his demeanor.
"Sorry for being late.." He noted, feeling that the apology was necessary despite the fact that Tategama was intentionally late, or rather--had reasons that caused it.

Crud; it looked like she’d have to answer all her sensei’s questions after all (not that she’d really had a choice in the matter Hyuuga-sensei not only out ranked her in terms of pure rank – being a jonin to her genin – but by being her direct superior in the form of her jonin sensei). Ah well, hopefully he wouldn’t be too picky about things and she could fudge things a bit. Not outright lie to him; that would be a bad idea of epic proportions after all, but not answer him fully – at least on the stuff that she didn’t have a definite answer for. “I like keeping busy, training, and mystery stories. I don’t like stupid people, snobs, or bees. I’ve lived in this village for as long as I can remember, and as for why I wanted to become a ninja…” Here she just petered off with a helpless shrug hoping that he wouldn’t press her for the answer to the last bit since she didn’t rightly know and had a sinking feeling that ‘it just seemed like a good idea at the time’ (which was actually the motivation for over half the things she did) wouldn’t cut it.

Kazuma listened to the genin's short description of herself, noting any her likes and dislikes and the fact that she trailed off at the end of her statement. He gave her a smile and decided not to press her for more. Hopefully Miyuki would open up as they grew closer as a team. He then turned his attention to the shinobi who had just joined them. "Alright, well now it's your turn Tategama. Why don't you share a bit about yourself and then afterwards I'll tell you guys about me." Kazuma wondered if the boy would also be as limited with his answers. If so, then it might take a while for the three of them to get to know each other.
