Last Name: Sho

Weight: 80.1 kg
Birthday: March 15th
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Relationships: Affiliation: Shipuugakure No Sato
Rank: Genin
Element(s): Doton/Raiton
Specialization(s): Ninjutsu
Personality: Tarou is what one might call "eccentric." Growing up his whole life in Shipuugakure, he's grown used to the harsh storms that wage through his home country. His father was a fisherman, a profession not often endeavored in that area of the world due to the danger of being out on the seas, and Tarou's adventures with him shaped his personality more than any other event in his life. He's always seeking new thrills and tough challenges, never hesitating to fight with great effort and vigor whether it be with a friendly rival or a fierce enemy. Because of this he can come off as quite intimidating to strangers, always wearing a smile on his face no matter how dire the situation, and always accepting a duel request no matter how much weaker he might be or seem to be.
As a Sho he is able to use Shoton, or crystal release, and most likely because of this he has a fascination with gems and jewelry. Wearing something shiny around him might lead to an interesting and potentially awkward situation where he'll go ahead and examine your adornments without having asked. Several times Sho has gotten in trouble with authorities who believe that he's stealing something expensive, when in reality he just wanted to examine it's properties, value, and quality. His favorite gem is Obsidian, which has sparked an obsession so deep that Tarou has gone to extensive lengths in order to make his own Shoton appear similar to the rock. This is the reason he's known in some circles as "Onyx Shard Tarou," since he primarily relies on using his black Shoton to fight.
Growing up with a fisherman father, it would be surprising if Tarou had no interest in fish. As a matter of fact, his favorite food is fish, with lobster coming in close second. When seafood is involved you can be sure that Tarou want's to eat it. Really when anything edible is involved you can be sure that Tarou wants to eat it. Some people say that he's like a bottomless pit devouring any food that dare cross his path, when other compare him more to a fire that burns up whatever's put on his plate. Regardless, he certainly has an extreme appetite.
Although he isn't necessarily interested in relationships, if you had to sum up his type, it would be:
"A woman who can fight, likes food, can cook, and likes jewelry. She has to enjoy all of those at least to the extent I do, if not more. Coming from me, it's hard to match that level of excitement."These unique guidelines have made it so that Tarou has never met a woman he's actually been interested in long term, which is unsuprising.
Lastly, Tarou has an odd phobia. He absolutely loathes bats. According to him
"If it has feathers it should fly. If it has scales it should slither. If it has fins it should swim. If it has fur it should walk. Why do bats have to break these rules?" Even talking about the creatures is enough to send a shiver up the Shipuugakurenin's spine.
Likes: As stated, Tarou has a fondness for minerals, gems, and jewelry, despite the fact he wears none of these things himself. He also enjoys eating, most particularly fish and other seafood, fighting, and challenging himself. Aside from that Tarou enjoys going for walks, an indulgence he rarely if ever can experience living in Shipuugakure with the dreadful winds. Tarou also enjoys sailing, which similarly is difficult for him to experience in Shipuu.
Dislikes: Also as stated, Tarou has complete adversity to bats. He can't stand those creatures at all and in the presence of one will most likely run screaming. It's an irrational fear of his. He also dislikes restrictions on his freedom as he likes to be an independent soul, doing whatever it is he chooses and fighting whomever it is he wants to.
Motivation: Tarou's secret ambition is to rise the ranks and make his name known throughout the shinobi world. He wants the name "Onyx Shard" to be something that Genin will gawk at and criminals will cower from. This is the primary reason he's such an eager fighter, since he believes by conquering strong shinobi he can become well known.
Fears: Tarou's worst fear, conversely, is to be lost in obscurity. He wants so desperately to be a well known that the idea his name might one day be lost to history is terrifying.
Sho
Bloodline Name: Shoton
Bloodline Ability: People born the with ability to use Shoton can create and manipulate chakra created crystal formations. Said users can create almost anything with said crystal using chakra to manipulate its shape, density, and even color. The crystals are actually weak against Doton jutsu even though it plays a part in its creation. The crystal hardness and durability depend on the user. (These really only pertain to jutsu that create weapons as defensive jutsu can't be stronger than their respective ranks. An example would be if a Crystal armor is still a D rank for all users but if a Jounin used the shuriken in Hexagonal shuriken wouldn't be destroyed by anything less than a B ranked Doton jutsu.)
Location: Shippuugakure
Clan History: The Sho clan wasn't born with the ability to control crystals like some clans are born with theirs but rather they developed their skills over many decades. The clan itself is new as well and if thought about isn't even actually a clan just a family with tradition. It all started about a century ago when a skilled shinobi of the Sho family going by the name of Scourge combined his elements of Doton and Raiton together to form Shoton. By refining his doton jutsu into small sand like particles and adding his raiton element it created crystals. It took plenty of time but eventually this skill was refined together and its own chakra nature. Scourge passed these skills down to his children and then them to their children each decade developing the Shoton element until it was force to be reckoned with.
Now almost a century into the future members of the Sho family can use the shoton element to create and shape the crystal to their desire. The family is still growing however and many new jutsu continue to be developed as the years go by.
History: A huge typhoon hit that dreadful day. Tarou was a mere 2 weeks old when the unexpected storm washed over the village hidden in the hurricane. The casualties of that event were greater than normal since no one saw it coming, and it was a category 6 storm. That was also the day Tarou's mom disappeared, assumed to have been dead. A few months later, it was confirmed when her body drifted up to the port. His father, absolutely devastated, gave him to his sister to take care of. Meanwhile, he used old shards of crystal produced in the past by Tarou's mother to create tools that could be used to predict oncoming storms. Although she had no children of her own, she was an experienced caretaker of young people, as she was the eldest of 4 siblings. He knew that he could count on her to give Tarou the things he needed to grow into a strong young man. Little did he know that Tarou would grow to be more than just strong.
Ten years later, the boy finally began living with his father again. He had met his other aunt and uncle over the years, and visited him from time to time, but that was the first time he actually lived in the same house with him. It was excellent bonding time for the two. Over many months they became like father and son should, one leading, the other learning, and both enjoying themselves with a person who they can see themselves in. It was around this time when Tarou began learning his clan's Kekkai Genkai. Although his mother was the one from the Sho side of the family, he was miraculously able to hone his skill with the crystal release pretty well by himself. His father even said that he progressed much faster than his mother had in her early years and that she would be proud of the young man if she were still alive.
Perhaps it was that kind of thought that drove his father to do what he did. The next few years were very happy. The two of them lived out their days together, fishing and fighting together, being happy together. As the years passed however, the father began experiencing the grief of his wife's death once more. Tarou would come home to his father intoxicated and crying, and the latter began writing dark poetry in his free time. The young one, age 13 now, did not understand what was going on, but he was concerned for his father's sake. He tried to create amazing sculptures of crystal for him, but only managed to succeed with small models. Nevertheless he would always make something for his father. Without fail he left a delicate present to try and cheer him up every day.
In the end however, his efforts were in vain. The father left his suicide note on a table one day and went out to sea purposely getting his boat caught in one of the many hurricanes in the area. Tarou, now 14 understood what had been going on since his aunt was kind enough to explain it to him. His father felt guilty that he let his mother go out that day to the market to buy fruits. It was him who requested her to go buy something and so when she died, he felt like it was his fault. As Tarou grew better and better at Shoton, it reminded hi more and more of his deceased wife. Finally when Tarou gave him the small gem figures, it broke his spirits to the point where he saw no point in living anymore. He couldn't bear living everyday with a constant reminder of what he believed was his fault, which is why he killed himself. Tarou, inheriting this guilt, moved back in with his aunt, crushed by what he had wrought upon his father.
4 years later he was passing by his old house when he realized that he had left something in there all those years back. Against his better judgement he walked inside. It was hard to keep calm when he was back at the site he had grown up with his father in, but he managed. He rummaged through the drawers, searching for whatever it was that he had left, but he soon forgot. As he opened one draw, he found his crystal miniatures all kept in small cases to protect them. Tears began to trickle down his face. Regardless of how his father was effected by them, he was still proud he had a son who could strive to do things like this. Filled with renewed inspiration, he began his work to be skilled with Shoton once again and become the greatest shinobi that Shipuugakure had ever seen.
RP Sample: The young girl watched intently as a figure flashed back and forth. She thought about how impressive it was, being a shinobi, and how limitless their power seemed to be. Tarou was training his speed when turning around. For whatever reason, a little girl from the village was interested in tagging along. Well whatever it's not like he was going to say no. He tapped the ground and spun around running back to the other side of the mat in his old house. He had, since the discovery of his old miniatures, turned his father's house into his own shrine and dojo, respecting the dead in one room and training himself to be a chunin in the other rooms. The ninja could feel the girl watching him however. Her gaze was very focused, very intent, and her widened eyes made her appear almost bespectacled. That was one day what all children who saw him would look like. That's the thought that crossed through his head as he continued training.
Tarou finished the workout of his legs and walked over to the girl, "So have you ever wanted to be a kunoichi?" he asked. The girl nodded. Smiling, he told her, "Then here's the secret. To every man there's a dream. To every dream there's a reality. If you believe in your dream and work hard, then your dream will come true." She lit up at these words and nodded confirming that she had heard him. He patted her on the head gently, "Alright then, this place is yours to use whenever you want to train, so long as your parents say it's okay," he told her. She looked stunned at first, but then ran off, presumably to ask her parents if it was allowed. The shinobi smiled as he watched her, a warm smile of nostalgia. Shipuugakure was a strong village. It was a good life.
