The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

It was Kouketsu who stood at the Sakurakage's office entrance with multiple people behind him. It wasn't to greet the Kage nor was he there to talk about anything friendly. In fact, the previous Kage had brung it upon himself and his own village. He left the village to fend for itself, the people in disarray and the ninja underneath him without guidelines to ranking up. They couldn't do missions and couldn't gain renown. The Kage refused to show himself and would pay for it dearly, for Kouketsu had sparked a revolution inside of Kusamuragakure. He was staging a Coup D'état, one that was unseen of in Kusamuragakure. The time was now. If he wanted the village to change in any way, he had to act while the people were tense and uneasy. He needed them to be rallied against the Kage and he needed ninja to back him up. He was using ninja that saw how wrongfully governed the village was. They would work fine in keeping loyalists suppressed enough for him to reach the previous kage.
The people standing behind him were all ninja. They would become the sparks that would ignite the fire. They would start the brief civil war, and Kouketsu would end it. Kouketsu would raise his left arm and ball his fist into the air. The revolutionary army knew exactly what it meant. Once Kouketsu had spread his fingers apart, the fire ignited. The shinobi that once stood behind him, dispersed to meet the loyalists that stood defiantly before them trying to keep their Kage in charge. Kouketsu briefly stared out onto the village at war. The streets filled with war cries and the clash of steel on steel. It was music to his ears. The streets had already been cleared of citizens beforehand. That way, none of them got harmed and would blame him for causing the injury. Everything was going accordingly to plan. All he needed was to cross the streets and actually make his way towards the door that led to the Kage's room.

Kouketsu stood upon a miniature battlefield that was all created because of him. It had to be done though, Kusa must change for the better or it will fail to become a glorious village. Kouketsu took a second to let his actions sink in. He had started a war for the rank of Kage. It wasn't something that someone could take so easily, especially if they truly cared for the well being of the village. Even if history marked him down as a cold hearted Kage, he would see to Kusa becoming a powerful village. He had to keep up his charade for the good of the village.
Kouketsu regained his senses amongst the chaos that filled the streets of Kusamuragakure. The war cries and the shouts of men being torn apart. It pained Kouketsu to see Kusa in such a fragile state, but Kouketsu would stifle this pain and surge forward into the crowd of men. Kouketsu would dodge the occasional kunai that was thrown his way, some he would merely deflect. Kouketsu didn't fair much opposition other than that until he met four men standing in the middle of the street that kept him from his rightful seat. The one standing in the middle he knew quite well. He was the only person he could safely call his friend. Kouketsu wasn't anything more than a friend to this person though. They had briefly played together in the village and then it stopped as soon as he had gained even more friends. Kouketsu silently cringed on the inside as he watched his only friend stand before him defiantly.
"Kouketsu.... Please don't do this to the village. If our childhood meant anything to you, you must stop this now!"
Kouketsu looked up with the same blank face he held many times to so many other people. He held the stare momentarily and then broke it.
"I vaguely remember you leaving me on my own as soon as others flocked to you. Either stand by or fall to me. I cannot stop once I have started."
"Kouketsu, stop now and you may be forgiven."
Kouketsu listened to as much as he needed to hear. His only friend saw him as some sort of mad man that lusted for the power for the wrong reasons. He may have lusted for it so, but even if he truly did, he did it for a good cause. Kouketsu threw each man a single kunai to momentarily distract them in the midst of chaos and he leaped for them. They each blocked the kunai flung at them and braced for the onslaught.
Kouketsu saw the three men and his one friend brace themselves for impact. That alone wouldn't keep them from his now enhanced taijutsu. He had become a much better shinobi then from the time he had fought the Bijuu. He trained his body and his jutsu for this single moment in Kusamura's history, the civil war. Approaching the man in what seemed like slow motion, Kouketsu would dispatch the first man. He swung his left arm in hard as though he was going in for a sideways punch only to fully swing and extend the arm all the way to the man's right arm which he grabbed a hold of tightly. The inevitable left hand that would reach out to block the fake hit would fail and leave him open for a single yet lethal counter attack. Kouketsu jabbed twice into the stomach of the victim and then turned and set him flying into the chaos with a single kick as he turned to his right. The man would fling into one of his comrades that was fighting one of his own enemies and both crashed onto the ground without getting up.
Kouketsu turned his sights on the other two who both punched at the same time from two opposite ends. One swinging with their right hand and the other with the left. Kouketsu ducked and swept underneath them both. Both men came crashing down on their ass and received a foot in their stomachs when Kouketsu stomped on them and left them gasping for air. Kouketsu's friend looked at him with an alarmed look on his face. The boy he once knew was gone. No longer kind, gentle, and shy, but seemingly cold hearted and callus. A tough world that shinobi lived in.
Kouketsu turned to the man and asked, "Will you move out of my way please? I will not ask twice." The question was more of a demand then anything and his friend recognized this. He found that Kouketsu was ready to throw anything and everything for what he thought was power, for Kouketsu it was the village. The man merely looked at his now lost friend and stepped aside as much as he could in the tide of war and let Kouketsu advance. Seeing him dispatch those three so quickly left him feeling helpless. Maybe it was time for change.

Kouketsu walked down the street full of chaos and embraced the sounds of war around him. The clink of steel on steel and the sound of Kunais whizzing by with explosive tags attached to them. It was music to Kouketsu's ears. He was going to take control of the village by any means necessary. It was his destiny to do this and you'd be damned if he didn't take this as his opportunity to do so. Several men tried to subdue the revolutionist but to no avail. The soon to be Kage countered each man and mercilessly cut them down with his own Kunai. Some may say Kouketsu was cruel others say he was a man sent from the heavens to save the village but in Kouketsu's mind he was neither. He had plans for the village that would come to fruition soon. Right now he had a war to win.
Finally arriving at the place where the council and the Sakurakage took refuge, the Cherry Blossom Tree. It was a symbol for Kusamuragakure and the life of the people in it. Next to the tree stood the gigantic Kage Building. Inside, Kou wished to see the Kage in alarm and the council cowering behind him. Kouketsu walked in to see a frightened secretary and walked right by her without the slightest glance or a phrase coming from his mouth. He simply walked by confidently and with a purpose. He glided up the steps to the Kage's office in excitement and anticipation. When he reached the door two guards stood side by side with a look of fear in their eyes.
"I suggest you move from your positions or you'll end up like everyone else in the streets defending this building. Dead."
The two guards glanced at one another and then shifted opposite directions to allow the young Senju in. Once he opened the doors, Kouketsu was taken back by the view quite a bit. Inside there was the Council and inside they spoke in hushed tones until they noticed Kouketsu's presence. They all looked at him and let out a sigh of relief.
"I'm glad you're here Kouketsu. We will need you to keep out this rebellion's leader."
Kouketsu stared back at the council for a moment and then spoke to them in a very agitated voice.
"Where's the Sakurakage..."
The Council looked at one another and then finally realized that Kou was in fact the leader of the rebellion. They cast their eyes down and then looked back up.
"There was no Sakurakage. The previous one left a long time ago. To where no one knows but we tried to take care of the village we really did."
Kouketsu looked between the Council and then let out a laugh while the fighting continued outside. To them he seemed crazy and out of his mind to be laughing at a comment like that. Kouketsu should have known all along. The Sakurakage was neglecting his own village because there WAS no Sakurakage. How ironic to be warring the Sakurakage when he wasn't even here.
"You two outside of the door. Arrest these people. As you've heard they took over the village without consent of the people. They will be publicly prosecuted and charged with treason."

"I will, from here on out, be known as the Sakurakage. I will defend this village with my life and do anything I deem necessary to preserve it for lifetimes. Take these people out of my site and take them into custody. I will announce their prosecution dates sometime soon."
The two men filled the room and grabbed the Council and arrested them on the spot. They were soon taken out of the room and left. All the men outside of the building noticed the council being arrested and they momentarily stopped fighting. Once they all realized that the war was finally over they dropped their weapons. Some of the men did this out of shame. Others did it out of exhaustion and some did this in relief. The Kusamura Civil War was finally over and the village could rejoice. This day in the village would be known as The Day The Cherry Blossoms Were No Longer Blood Red, or for a better name: Cherry Blossom Day. When the village would finally bloom to reach its fullest potential. Kouketsu sat in the chair and looked around the room and chuckled some more. To think he was never here in the first place. Kouketsu opened up a cabinet to the left of the room and pulled out a hat and smiled. He turned around and then left to meet all the men outside of the building.
Once outside, the men all turned to see their new Kage dressed in the official robes of the Sakurakage. They were appalled, relieved, and shocked throughout their bodies. Kouketsu Senju was the next Sakurakage of Kusamuragakure.
"The people of Kusamura hear me and take what you will of it. The Council you've just seen have been lying to the people all along. They took over the village and falsely advertised that the Sakurakage was here all this time just taking care of the village in his office. As I said, this is false. There never was a Sakurakage. He left a long time ago. These people will stand trial for treason in public for all to see and criticize on. If you want proof, check the building yourself. You will see no evidence of the previous Kage and you will see no evidence of me ever meeting the previous Kage and harming him. That is all."
Kouketsu continued forward to take a stroll throughout the village for all to see their new Kage dressed in full clothing. All the fighting ninja that were listening to Kou parted in two directions allowing him to walk freely down the path. As soon as their new Kage was gone they turned and looked at the tall and silent building. One by one they took turns entering the building in search of proof.
This day marks the day of the next Sakurakage, Kouketsu Senju.
