It was another normal day in Shippuugakure, the increased humidity and dark clouds spread throughout the sky marked the imminent arrival of another storm. Citizens scurried to and fro, attempting to finish their daily tasks before the oncoming storm soaked them to the bone. Thaddeus found himself in search of a fellow shinobi willing to be a test subject for his latest genjutsu idea, but most were understandably reluctant. Most people didn't trust genjutsu, and Thaddeus didn't exactly have a reputation for pleasant techniques. Normally he'd just test them on himself but this particular technique required outside participation. Thaddeus kept a steady pace as he made his way through town, heading for the Umikage's office building. There were always shinobi coming and going from there for a multitude of reasons, surly one of them would be willing to assist him? After a couple failed recruitments he spotted an old classmate of his from his relatively brief time in the academy and jogged over to greet him.

"Shima, do you have a moment?" Thaddeus said as he tapped his old classmate on the shoulder to get his attention. "Hmm? Oh hey, what's up Thad? It's been a while, almost didn't recognize you." Shima grinned a little as he recognized his old classmate, extending his right hand for a handshake. "Yeah, too long. Mind helping out with something?" Thaddeus responded with a faint grin of his own, accepting Shima's offer for a handshake. "Sure thing, what do you need help with." "There's a genjutsu technique I've been developing and I need a 3rd party to make sure it works properly." "Whoa whoa whoa, genjutsu? Don't tell me this is another one of your mind washing techniques." "No no, nothing like that." Thaddeus laughed as Shima panicked a little, attempting to assure him that his mental health was safe. "I think you'll enjoy this one." "Yeah, that's reassuring." The irony was palpable as Shima rolled his eyes. "Fine, what do I need to do?"

"Hold still..." Thaddeus put his right hand on Shima's shoulder, who reluctantly complied with his request. "You're going to feel a very small pull on the chakra in your head, I wan't you to sustain that pull." "A-alright." Shima replied nervously, shifting a little as he did so. With a little bit of effort Thaddeus planted a small amount of his chakra in both Shima's brain and his own, but didn't activate the technique yet. "So... what now?" "Just stand there for a moment and wait for my signal." After making sure his chakra was placed in the right spot Thaddeus jogged towards an alley about 40 feet away. "Wait, what's the signal!" "You'll know it when you hear it." Shima let out a sigh as he watched Thaddeus disappear into the alley. Hey. Shima nearly jumped out of his socks as Thaddeus's voice ran though his head. "Where are you?!?" He said in a partial state of shock, looking around in every direction in an attempt to find the source of Thaddeus's voice. "In the alley." "How the hell can I hear you then!?" My jutsu, it works like telepathy. "Really! That's awesome!"

By now Shima had managed to make quite a few people question his sanity, but he didn't care. You know, you don't have to yell, or talk for that matter. As long as you think about talking I can hear you. Testing testing, one two three. I already told you I could hear you, you don't need to test it. Thaddeus couldn't help by laugh at Shima's reactions, but he got what he needed. There was no reason to beat around the bush now. I'm in a rush so I won't keep you, thanks again for the help. Thaddeus said, or thought rather, as he reappeared from the alley and gave Shima a farewell wave. No problem, let me know if you have anything else this cool that needs some testing.
