Clans

In the village of Storms there are three main clans that dominate the culture. The least of which is the Takahashi caln who although few in numbers have proven themselves useful time and time again in times of need with their excellent combat skills in the face of danger. After them is the Tenshi clan, those who call thunder to their will. The affinity the have of the elements of fire, wind and lightning have earned them a place high in the military standards of Boufuugakure with the Thunder Clan Unit containing most of their top fighters.

The Kinzoku clan was until recently viewed at as a mid ranking clan, known for their deep desire to protect the village to their final breaths they were often personal guard for the village leader himself. With their metal crafting bloodline the helped raise the giant lightning rods which greater had a showing of how they wished to protect Boufuugakure. The clan became recognized as a noble family whenever the clan prodigy was named kage and has remained high ranking in society ever since.

Layout

A large village located in an elevated region of the land of heat. Boufuugakure was designed as an offensive unit that is prepared to go to war at any time from a strategic position. Behind the great serpent walls the villager's live in relative peace with the buildings being either constructed from solid stone or a titanium alloy which has been made especially for this region so that it could take a bolt of lightning and run it into the ground rather than kill the people inside. In the inner village there is a single mountain that has been excavated from some ancient force to be converted into a large scale prison. There is a great temple for the god Thor on the hill overlooking the village as well as a great arena built onto the graveyard honoring those fallen in battle.

The gates into and out of Boufuugakure are the only way to legally access the village, these gates are found at the top of a long covered bridge that reaches across the giant moat surrounding the village. These gates are massive one foot thick slabs of pure white titanium. These only open during the day time between the hours of six AM and eight PM and are otherwise impassible even to locals unless of course the village was under attack from the inside and people needed to exit quickly. These doors are decorated with beautiful images of the goddess Freya with a single depiction of the gate keeper god Heimdall which has half on each door.

Weather

The region that Boufuugakure is located in is a constant chaos of weather. Constantly shifting from one to the next with one hour having sunny skies to the next with hurricane level rain and winds and then on to misty air. The occasional sunny day is a rare thing in this region and more often than not the constant shift in weather is from one level of rain and lightning to another.

History

The Beginning

War plagued the lands and all but a few clans were intelligent enough to see that going on like this would never suffice for the continuation of their children and their children’s children. So in a shaky set of strings peace was formed between a handful of powerful clans willing to try working together. Though most of the founding clans have since been eliminated through means of war and sabotage only the Kinzoku remain and not on excellent terms at first. The clan’s leader Hagane attempted to steal the power from the original Kanetsukage as he believed that his clan was better than the rest and was deserving of power. This coup d'etat was however stopped in it’s tracks as he was slaughtered by his own son with the entire clan behind him. Since then the Kinzoku have been given military permissions greater than most families but it is unknown if this is from a showing of respect or if the elders wish to keep a closer eye on the metal crafters.

The Prophecy

After the failed coup d'etat the Kanetsukage went on as if nothing had happened and was escorted by a pair of Kinzoku clan members to visit an old friend of his. This friend was a soothsayer and told stories of both the past and future so it was no surprise that the trio received a prophecy. They were told of barren wastelands as far as the mother earth’s arms could reach and that it would all be caused by the actions of a single man, one who strikes without words with power over refined earth. The Kinzoku clan members looked at each other when they heard this but the Kanetsukage seemed unaware of what that meant so Ragnarök would come and it would be blood on their children’s hands.

Modern Times

In more recent years the villages construction of massive features has been completed with the great wall lining the storm dwellers for protection and other things like the massive temple on the hill for spiritual guidance. The processes were sped along when the man Kinzoku Takeshi took the kage seat and shaped the gate of the white god himself. Though there have been many skirmishes between Boufuu and Kazan full war has so far been avoided though signs of a coming apocalypse are on the horizon with a loose gun like Takeshi in power.
