Personality: A gentle, meek person, Mitsu is very similar to that of the traditional personality of the Saitama. Courteous and generally silent unless spoken to, the Genin can easily light up a room with his oddly perky personality. To be frank, Mitsu is not the first person you'd notice in a room. He prefers to go with the flow (a true pisces) and not draw attention to himself; that of a true Saitama. He generally has nothing to say, occasionally offering small responses by issuing a small "hm" or gently cocking his head in question, perhaps offering you a raised eyebrow when he's curious. But other than that, his cerise hued lips stay sealed as if cement had glued them together - and granted, Mitsu isn't "shy". When exposed to people he's comfortable with like his family or a close friend, he's a firecracker that's been lit up. Exuberant and happy, it's almost as if his personality has done a complete 180 degrees. Rather, Mitsu is a simple introvert. He shines the brightest when he's close with a small amount of people, especially close friends, and that's where his true "personality" is revealed. Most people are incapable of understanding how the introvert functions, however, and due to his passive silence, he comes off as cocky and aloof; perhaps suggesting that he's better than someone else, when it's hardly the case.
Raised with a very heavy emphasis on respect and courtesy, Mitsu is very, very polite and respectful. To those of higher rank and respect, he speaks their name with the appropriate honorific; -senpai, -sensei, or -sama. With his peers, excluding close ones, he goes with -san behind their first or last name. He only pipes it a conversation when directed to do so or expected to do so; otherwise, he believes he should be "seen, but not heard". Very skilled at keeping up a facade, even if he's annoyed about something, Mitsu typically maintains a very passive, neutral facial expression. Although being blind has rendered him incapable of knowing what his facial expression actually looks like, he can feel when he's frowning or furrowing his brows - and does his best not to do that, knowing it makes him easy to read as if he was an open novel.
Motivated by the belief that he should represent his clan and the death of his sister, Mitsu is an extremely hard worker and perhaps it's the fact that he
is blind that convinces him that he has to work harder than most. He doesn't stop working on something until he feels that it's complete; a perfectionist, which generally can be both beneficial and detrimental to him. He feels unsatisfied and disappointed with himself if he isn't capable of completing a goal, which can then cause him to lose focus from his other goals, which may be more important than what he couldn't complete. He doesn't accept failure in himself and generally has a hard time accepting the failure of others, even when it wasn't possible to succeed. He is also exceptionally patient with others and selfless. His dedication towards Seppugakure is omnipresent and he has no problem with putting his life on the line for the sake of both his clan and his village.
A dedicated pacifist, Mitsu will do his best to avoid conflict; which makes life as a shinobi difficult. It often requires him to analyze the situation and decided what to do - but he's completely against killing an opponent, whether a true enemy or not. He would much rather immobilize or stun the enemy and flee rather than being reduced to using deadly techniques to kill them. He has a problem with those who kill for fun or are exceptionally bloodthirsty and has no problem showing his disdain for them. However, it is unwise to assume that Mitsu is a complete and utter sweetheart who can do no wrong; he too has his own flaws and negative traits he has to deal with.
Although selfless, he is very naive which is partly due to his youth. Although intelligent, his lack of years makes him very unwise and inexperienced - something that books don't teach you. He is generally overconfident in his intellectual capabilities and although imaginative, has a hard time believing that he could be wrong - having spent most of his life being right because of his bookworm habits. His naivety also leads him to being easily led, even in the wrong direction. A true neutral person, he judges no one by their alliances or allegiances, but he is easily manipulated due to his innocence and general belief that most people don't want to harm others. Beyond a neophyte in keeping a facade, he is also very secretive and unwilling to divulge his secrets to others, which makes him hard to trust (to some, who believe that friends should tell everything).
Sensitive and sympathetic, Mitsu also has a weak will. It's hard to motivate him to keep going after he's been knocked to the dirt over and over and doesn't have the mental endurance that others have. He's an ideal escapist, preferring to simply ignore his problems rather than tackle them face on - which explains why he gets hostile at mentioning the death of his sister; a personal problem he still has yet to face. A true pisces, Mitsu is also malleable. Ironically, he's an aquatic sign (water being his biggest fear) and he goes with the flow. He generally does not object to something unless he knows it's against his morals. Still young, he's obviously tempted by things that are generally outside his moral scope. He can be quite possessive along with passive-aggressive.
Preferring to keep his emotions inside, he has a hard time opening up. Although very peaceful and meek on the outside, he can easily become a walking time bomb if prodded over and over again - those this is a very gradual, slow process considering Mitsu is very patient and calm. He keeps a cool, level head especially during battle and prefers to think multiple steps ahead of someone in order to succeed. Having the maturity to be a leader, he's far too meek to want to be in the limelight. Therefore, he generally blends into the background, despite it being rather unnecessary.
Likes: Although very meek, Mitsu does not let his blindness get in the way of him enjoying many things. He likes helping, learning, anything sweet, and experiencing new things. Sweets are the easiest way to his heart - like most children - and he enjoys things like mitarashi dango, onigiri, anpan, and a variety of other traditional sweets and pastries. He also enjoys sleeping, especially outside; a very earthy person, he enjoys being outside or in nature somehow, even if he's just relaxing. Mitsu has a very sweet spot for animals and all living creatures, so he's a very big pet fan and often goes out of his way to take in stray animals, even when it's obvious he isn't capable of taking care of all of them.
Dislikes: People who underestimate him or mock him because of his blindness, especially those who dote on him for being blind. He doesn't want anything for free or any handouts and doesn't see his blindness as a disability and rather, sees it as something he can use to excel like everyone else. Mitsu also dislikes large crowds and a lot of noise. His senses are a lot sharper due to his blindness and he's very sensitive to loud noises, which makes large crowds and gatherings very miserable due to everything being extremely loud to him.
Motivation: The memory of his older sister. As his parents worked hard jobs, Mitsu could only relate and depend on his sister. With her death being a shock to everyone, he used it as reason to work hard and keep succeeding, knowing she would have wanted him to succeed. He works hard in her memory, rather than grieving, and claims that she is his only reason for still living and working hard.
Fears: Drowning. His older sister had overestimated her abilities of the Heigan and although she could see everyone else, she wasn't able to completely see the large pond in front of her. She stumbled and drowned, being incapable of swimming due to her blindness; leaving her body to be found by Mitsu himself. Obviously, Mitsu has a fear of water which makes him worrisome of Suiton users and large amounts of water (whether created by jutsu or not) will definitely leave him standing there, quivering out of fear. He has no problem if someone is there to help him or coax him through it, but facing large amounts of water alone is very scary to him and his phobia is quite traumatizing.
Saitama Clan Bloodline Name: Heigan - 'Closed Eyes'.
Bloodline Ability: The Saitama are able to see chakra from far away distances and for what the cannot see they can sense. With that it gives all of the members of Saitama, since they are blind; the ability to see. Along with this ability they can also drain their opponents chakra as long as it is through physical contact. But they do not take that much chakra just five points. They can only use that ability though when they are low on chakra.
Location: Shippu.
Clan History: The Saitama believe that if you are extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness, be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness, then you will be able to direct the opponent's fate. They are known to be peaceful. They have served as the peace negotiators to keep the peace period by handling all confrontations between Shippuu and other villages. But unlike most clans all members of the Saitama are blind which makes it hard for them to learn how to do hand signs.
History: The Saitama Clan. A clan famed for its ability to see, but not to see; although physically blind, they relied on their kekkei genkai to see in order to aid their village and be useful shinobi. Most of them lived in Shippugakure, where their clan was founded at. Hanako and Bei Saitama were the exceptions. Hanako, originally a Saitama, had been a rare exception; incapable of manipulating chakra. The only one in her family capable of seeing. A failure, according to her clan. It was seen as a curse from the gods - they had been blind for nearly all of their history, yet this child could see and not make use of their kekkei genkai. She wasn't "right", according to her family. Not being a kunoichi, she was seen of no use to her family and her parents were tough on her. She did the menial, manual labor that her parents and her siblings could not do and worked as a seamstress - the only job she could do without needing a taxing education. Although she could not use chakra, her fingers were nimble and fit for hand seals - being able to weave the most intricate of patterns in her fabrics.
By the age of seventeen, she was pregnant with her first child. Not married to her then boyfriend (who too was a Saitama - though he himself was a ninja), she forcibly fled to the outskirts of Shippugakure where she and Bei raised their first child, Ai. Blind like the rest of the Saitama, she was a true kunoichi and quickly made it clear that she would be one of the fiercest her clan had seen in a while. With Bei working hard as a veternarian, Hana continued her weaving and seaming. Six years later, she gave birth to a son; Mitsu. With emerald eyes and smooth, blond tresses he was the mixture of both his mother and father. Blind too, Hana was forced to deal with the task of raising two blind shinobi.
Mitsu was quieter than most as a child, but seemed to have quite a fascination with listening to stories told to him verbally by his father and playing with animals. At the age of five, his older sister was eleven. She was facing her own graduation from the Ninja Academy, now that his family had moved back to central Shippugakure. A week before her graduation, she had drowned - tipping into the water and forcibly flailing around before she had inhaled too much water. She was found by Mitsu, who had went looking for her. With his entire family grieving over the loss of a family member, they had to move on; that's the way it went in life. You grieve and you keep going, because you don't want to let their death be in vain - and after all, his sister would have never wanted him to let her death stop him from achieving his goals.
Attending the Academy at the age of five, Mitsu excelled beyond expectations. Motivated by the fact that he had been doted on for being blind and the idea of wanting to live up to his sister's legacy and standards, he worked hard - harder than anyone expected. Granted, being a hard worker was in his genes. Both his parents persevered through hard times in their life and didn't let walls permanently obstruct them from their dreams. And when you have people offering to give you everything you needed in life due to a disability, eventually you get tired of being treated with such an innocence that you can't help but want to do something for your own. Independent and intelligent due to his own intrinsic motivation, Mitsu was able to graduate earlier than the rest of his peers - at the age of thirteen. Although glad he's able to succeed and work on his future goal, he's also worried that he won't be able to continue succeeding - wary of being a young genin and insecure because of it.
RP Sample: The sun had only been up for thirty minutes, but Mitsu had been up for over an hour. He enjoyed the mornings; they were a favorite of his. The air smelled crisp and fresh and when he walked barefoot, he could feel the slippery cool dew on his bare feet from the soft, rustled grass. But he was not barefoot now nor was he worried about the texture of the grass. He sat on the ground, legs tucked behind his knees. Orange jacket covering his bare arms, he placed a few roses in front of him. He was at a burial site. His sister's. There was no one around, to which Mitsu was glad. He didn't want anyone to disturb him or make him feel awkward for visiting his sister's grave right now. He had just been promoted to Genin - so he thought it would be respectful and expected of him to visit his sister's grave.
She didn't make it to Genin. But he did it for her - for the both of them. Now she could rest in peace, knowing that her brother was doing everything she was incapable of attaining for her. Mitsu's porcelain teeth nibbled into the flesh of his bottom lip in frustration as he felt the stinging feeling of water poking at the corners of his eyes. Biting his lip harder, he felt the unwelcome feeling of tears trickling down his tan cheek. From the pressure of his tooth, his bottom lip began to leak crimson and Mitsu meekly wiped the blood from his lip with the tip of his thumb, leaving a stray, dull trail. The remnants of copper left a foul taste in his mouth, but he said nothing as he closed his eyes - which may have been seen as unusual to those who observed him. After all, what purpose did a blind person have to close their eyes? They couldn't see in the first place. Closing your eyes is what people did to stop seeing; yet he couldn't see at all.
He closed his eyes to find peace. To end the rampant questions that rummaged throughout his brain. To block out the chirping of the speckled blue birds around him or the distant sound of waves crashing into the rocks at the shore. To find peace; that's why he closed his eyes.
