Personal v2Personality: Nia has never been particularly boisterous and loud. She's always been kind of resigned. Aloof, some may say. She doesn't like to express her weakness -- although, don't take that the wrong way: Nia will express her joy, and often times her frustration if it comes down to it. She's just rather independent, and doesn't like to bother others with her troubles.
Aside from this, Nia is still relatively easy to get along with. She may seem reserved at first, but transforms into a pretty easy-going girl. When she isn't on missions, Nia likes to enjoy her time having fun, as one might say. However, when it comes to missions and training, Nia can transform in the blink of an eye. She becomes level-headed and cool, always trying to seem undeturred in the sight of dangers and strife. She does not become brash or challenging, but likes to observe her opponent, hoping to find a weak point. She calls back all the knowledge that she's read in books, and tries to think strategies through in her head -- although, she's never been particulary good at strategizing, she can follow instructions quite well, and will try to follow things to suit to others' needs.
Nia is independent, and doesn't like to allow herself to seem weak. Even when in pain, she tries to "walk it off" -- one of the most valuable lessons ever told to her by her father. This notion, however, has gotten her into some trouble with her knee before. She ended up needing surgery on it, although her father told her to quit whining about it. Now, Nia tends understate things, for fear that others will think that she's whining as well.
However, outside of the shinobi world, Nia enjoys the "simple things". She's what one might consider to be a "simpleton" as she doesn't like fancy, complicated things, but rather enjoys the things that have always been there: wildflowers, walks, the river. One of her favourite things -- which she rarely gets to do now, because she has to act mature as a shinobi -- is puddle-jumping. She adores the rain, especially thunderstorms. She loves watching lightening and hearing the thunder and the rain pounding down on the house.

HistoryHistory: Nia grew up with her mother -- a very talented artist, but a woman who never had any pain tolerance -- and her shinobi father. From a young age, Nia's father, Jubo's, absence was well known. Nia would stick with her mother for quite a while during the day, until Nia's sister's, Kira and Sayuri, would come home from the academy. Seeing as Jubo was no blessed with sons, all his daughters seemed to have taken on his enthusiasm when it came to becoming shinobi, and protecting their nation. Kira would often train Nia, seeing as she was only a chuunin -- Sayuri was a healer, and was often busy with missions, or at the infirmary, and their father was a tracker shinobi.
Kira had trained with her own shortswords -- with which she wielded in both hands -- and decided to find someone to craft Nia her own weapon. She managed to find an old scythe -- something a farmer no longer had any use for -- and Nia was training with that after she'd come home from the academy.
Things went smoothly for years until Nia was nearly about to graduate from the academy. News came round that Nia's father and Nia's sister, Sayuri, had been killed while on a mission together. Nia didn't know how to react -- though it wasn't with anger. She would seek solice at the end of the academy day, roughing it out so that no one would take pity upon her. When she came home, she fervently begged Kira to teach her special techniques. Kira ended up teaching Nia how to push her chakra through her blades. While weak at first, Nia continues to get better and better with each passing day.
Although she trained hard, it was difficult for Nia to keep her mind on her studies. She failed her first academy exam, and feeling this dishonourable defeat on her shoulders, Nia buried her face in books with her father's greatest advice "walk it off". Nia decided to "walk off" her pain of losing her family by training all the harder -- but not in search or revenge. She trained harder simply to make her own as a kunochi, and to one day be in a place as honourable as her family once was.
When Nia finally did pass her academy exam, Kira took Nia to get an actual scythe crafted for her. With Kira's help, Nia learned new techniques, and even managed to come up with some minor ones on her own that Kira helped her devise.
As Nia gets closer to becoming a chuunin, she still keeps her father's advice close to heart, and still trains hard, hoping to one day be like Sayuri or her father.
more recent:
Since graduating from the academy, Nia moved on to becoming what is considered an "advanced genin"; she was placed onto squad sixty-six, alongside advanced and skilled genin -- both of which were well deserving of the title of "chuunin". When Amegakure hosted the chuunin exams, Nia felt the pressure that most genin do -- and she realized that up against other shinobi, she was an insignificant kunoichi who had not yet realized the lengths at which people will aim in order to gather power, strength, and knowledge.
During the first task, Nia's team room was assaulted while both of her teammates were out attempting to retrieve scrolls. In an attempt to seem cunning, clever, and worthy, her prideful attitude cost them the scroll, as she attempted to remain collected and dignified. She felt guilty immediately after that, but felt the guilt heavier -- a crushing weight that was constantly nagging at her mind -- when Amegakure was brutally attacked by the Kusagakure nation. Her two original teammates were killed during the battle, and Nia was left to wonder why she was possibly left when she'd disgraced her shinobi team, taken away their chance at becoming and chuunin, and -- further -- was given a chance to continue on with her life when theirs were both cut short.
The debilitating guilt was not something that Nia was prepared to deal with, as she soon found out. While repairs were being made by the village, she spent much time working in discreet places -- places where she was not likely to be found. She felt much fear when it came to meeting face-to-face with people she'd been familiar with before. She was afraid to face their condolences, words of advice, grieving expressions, and -- worst of all -- their constant reassurance that she would some day do her teammates proud.
During this time frame she seemingly disappeared until Amegakure got back in order, ready to function feebly, but fully again. She was soon placed back into a squad with team members with whom she barely recognizes. She feels evermore like an outcast, and has turned to hiding inside her shell to prevent herself from getting attached, and from disappointing her team members. During training she has begun to practice only the bare minimum, afraid to show her truest of attempts, afraid for the actual criticism, wanting the leniency of the excuse of "I'm not actually trying" to fall back onto.
But most of all, she's afraid of someone actually telling her -- though she already knows it -- that she has no skill, and that her teammates didn't deserve to die ... but rather she did.
RP Sample: The hidden rain, a true example on how, with proper guidance, even the smallest plant, can grow into the largest tree. For many years it had suffered, having been the battlefield of the greater villagers. Many happy homes had been crushed, many dreams had been taken away...and worst, many lifes had faded. All its suffering did lead to one good thing through: the rise of god. With god`s leadership, the village was now in its prime state. Despite all the years god had been leading them, only very few had actually seen his face. Sometimes, the only proof of god was his messenger...God`s angel. Again only a few knew her name, but she had been seen now and then, watching the village from god`s tower...
Ruffled white sheets moving, a mane of silky blue hair moving across the black pillow, and at last, the opening of eyelids, revealing two beautiful amber colored eyes. a low moan followed, and a smooth arm was placed over the eyes. The sun wasen`t shinning, it rarely did, but the light from the lamp next to the bed was enough to annoy the eyes. Remaining motionless in her nest of soft sheets, she tried to find a reason to wake up. In her dreams, she could be with Yahiko, Nagato and sensei...no war, no blood spilled, just them trying to learn new jutsu and catch fish for dinner.
