The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

Name: Sandstorm Fist Canon/Custom: Custom Rank: D Element: Sand Type: Taijutsu/Kekkei Genkai Range: Five feet from user's fist Description: This jutsu requires that the user has sand nearby and must be of the Sankuro clan. The user first surrounds their fist with sand, then punches at the opponent while forcing the sand forwards, following the direction of the punch. After five feet, however, the force dissipates entirely. Anywhere within that five feet, the opponent takes damage as though they were punched, enough to cause bruising of the skin. No handseals or charge time, 2 post cooldown. The sand does not do anything except extend the reach of his punch.
Name: Sandstorm Drilling Fist Canon/Custom: Custom Rank: D Element: Sand Type: Taijutsu/Kekkei Genkai Range: Touch Description: A variation of the Sandstorm Fist and subject to the same restrictions, save for the effective range. The user surrounds their fist with sand before they punch. this time, however, the sand spins around the user's fist as they punch, creating a penetrating or abrasive cone of damage that extends as far back as the user's shoulder. If hit by the tip, the opponent will feel the full force of the drilling sand, penetrating clothing or leather-like fabric to pierce the skin and soft tissue (not muscle). If hit by the outer cone, the opponent will feel the abrasive effects of the technique, causing painful scrapes and skin-deep cuts just deep enough to cause bleeding. No handseals or charge time, 2 post cooldown.

If by "doesn't do anything" you mean that it doesn't increase damage to the opponent, then no, it doesn't do anything. It just increases the range of a punch by five feet.
