The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

Personality: Hakumei is an adventurer. As such, he has changed to meet the demands of an ever changing environment. Overall he has a versatile personality that changes depending on the situation. Mind you his mood may slightly alter that as well. Since he was a boy he's been traveling around, so there is no true sole personality that Hakumei fits.
As he traveled the world, Haku realized just what an evil place it was, noticing mainly the particularly evil aspects of every place he visited. He would never consider the benevolent parts to be greater than the evils hiding within the shadows. Always, he wished for the evil to be wiped out. When with anyone, Haku suspects an underlying evil that must be cleansed, whether that be through hard work or killing.
When meeting someone for the first time, Haku tries to be quite kind, gaining their trust to the fullest. While doing this he picks out all the flaws they seem to have, as well as anything he considers to be an evil aspect about them. He keeps these things to himself and holds these facts to them, making a mental note whether to fix them or destroy them.
Being an explorer of sorts, Haku rarely keeps many friends. Considering his age and his hobbies, this is understandable. However, his strong sense of goodness and urge to kill those who would dare do evil tend to keep regular people even further away. No one really gets to know the real him because he's always acting as everyone's best friend, picking up traits of people that people seem to like.
When Haku confronts an enemy, be it evil or not, Haku is relentless in getting the job done. If he had the option to kill them, he would do so, for he reasons that if they are a fool enough to fight him, then they should do well in the afterlife. If he is outmatched by his opponent, he will keep his options as wide as possible, prioritizing survival. When fighting one below his level, Haku may toy with his opponent, typically also lecturing them about their evils.
Hakumei's hobbies consist of traveling around, and if that's not possible, then just exploring the general vicinity. When not killing off those he considers evil, Hakumei likes to enjoy nature just as it is, be it a maelstrom or clear sunny day.
Hakumei's morals are quite selfish. What he believes to be evil can vary at any time depending on his view of the person and the situation. In reality his principles were set at a younger age than he is already and are changed as he pleases. If he just doesn't like someone, he may just create a reason to call them evil and destroy them.
Although Haku is determined to destroy all evil, he doesn't particularly find himself siding with the “good”. Really, he considers himself to be “Neutral” more than anything, especially since he comes up with his own version of what is evil at any rate. In simpler terms, he assigns things he doesn't like the alignment of evil as if he is worthy of judging people, but stops just short of that by calling himself Neutral.
Though Haku has aged, his opinions on relationships with others has not changed. He was confused as to what he liked at one point, but in the end he ended up not being attracted anyone sexually. The main reason for this could be because of his fears, or it could be because of his Virtue of Chastity. In any case, he views anything beyond kissing to be impure and dirty. He has no desire to kill or stop such an act, but will not allow it to go on in his presence if he has to be there.
Likes: First and foremost Haku likes genjutsu. He loves the way it can confuse, control, and bind his enemies. Being a genjutsu primary perpetuates his love for this type of jutsu, and he tries his best to use it in any circumstance that he can. However, this love for genjutsu has fostered a liking for trickery. Being a powerful ninja at a young age, he can’t help but tease others with his powerful genjutsu, knowing that they can’t escape him.
Hakumei also has quite a liking for killing. There was a stint in the past where he went to the Storm Village prison and murdered many, leaving only when he had convinced a girl that it was the prisoners who had suddenly attacked him first. The real kicker is that while he had gone in and slaughtered the prisoners, he had completely overlooked that there was a mission that asked for such a thing. Nonetheless, Hakumei’s keen interest in murder has slightly warped his judgement of people, inclining him to be more critical of a person so that he can in some way find a reason to attack and kill them.
Hakumei loves to go on adventures. Being motivated by the evil in the world, he wishes to seek out all the darkness in the world and destroy them utterly. As his search started he found that he particularly liked going out and about from his village to take on new foes, learning and growing in power as he did so. He just wished he actually got out more to actually go on more adventures.
Dislikes: As stated earlier, Hakumei has a passionate hate to those who are evil. Though, since he is the judge of whether or not a person is evil, it is more apparent to others that he simply hates people in general, and more particularly dislikes people who get in his way or don’t do as he says. Either may be true, but Haku believes that he is doing the world a favor by destroying the “evils” he comes across. Being primarily a genjutsu user, Haku dislikes people who use ninjutsu, and ninjutsu in general. There is no particular reasoning behind his distaste in ninjutsu. This explicit dislike has warped his judgement of a person, viewing ninjutsu users as bad people. Although he views ninjutsu users as bad people, he doesn’t think that ninjutsu use is reason enough to murder a person. However, that doesn’t mean he won’t attack if the person is already suspicious.
Motivation: Hakumei is motivated by his ideas of morality. After quickly becoming strong at a young age, he holds not respect for people older than him, as his achievements most likely surpassed theirs at a young age. It is this combination of power and lack of respect that put Hakumei in a position where he could not be taught any better of how to think of people. If one were to tell him that his thoughts of someone were incorrect, he would not believe them because they were likely to be weaker than him, or at the very least a failure in comparison to him. At any rate, he wants to destroy the world’s evil at nearly any cost, taking lives if necessary, and to his pleasure.
Fears: After having to grow up at a young age, and quickly gaining power to protect himself, Hakumei never had time to look for romantic interests. Beyond this, he has a phobia of sexual love, questions, and perversion, so he never really even considered looking for love. He fears sexual acts to the point of lashing out blindly to stop whatever it was scaring him. Public displays of affection typically don’t bother him, but he retains his childish disgust of it.
Due simply to his long-time possession of the Vice of Greed, Haku has a strong fear of losing money. He knows that with an increase of money he becomes stronger, so losing money means that he would be growing weaker. He does not, however, fear becoming weaker, as being A rank at age ten really doesn’t say much about his peers who were left in the dust.
Xanadu
Bloodline Name: Meikai no shugo-sha (Guardians of the Netherworld)
Bloodline Ability: Members of this clan are half-phantom and half-human. Although this is true, it also caused their Chakra pool to be completely removed from their body and deposited at a mysterious orb-like spirit of varying colour. The spirit orb can only be seen only by the members of the clan or someone who has seen death happen in front of their eyes. They have a very high level of concentration.
Genin, Chuunin: During this level, they have to concentrate and absorb chakra from their spirit half. This makes it quite troublesome for those who want to be quick on their toes in battle. Although, they can use E~C rank jutsu’s with ease.
Sp. Jounin, Jounin, S-rank: During this level, jutsu’s ranging from A~S rank will backfire on the caster if it involves chakra but to counter this disability members of the clan are able to merge with their spirit half for only 15 posts. Thus, letting them access Jutsu’s from A~S rank. Note that if the jutsu involves absorbing chakra from ones spirit half, it would require two posts for A~S rank unless stated. This can be used once per topic. Below states the weapons that can be carried by the clan members. Note that the swords are passed down from their forefathers (Explained in history).
Virtues: Chastity – Increases jutsu damage by two fold. Temperance – Dispels Genjutsu every two posts. Kindness – Heals the user passively but at a small amount. Charity – Has the ability to sap your life in return for an increase in power Diligence – Able to continue a battle after being landed a critical hit Patience – Increased focus, insight, foresight and senses. Humility – Does not feel fear or pain when used.
Vice: Lust – Has the ability to sap life from the opponent to heal yourself. Gluttony – Loves to drink blood, the more blood, the more power. Envy – Has the ability to copy the shape and effects of other weapons but its strength is 80% of the original. Greed – The more Ryo one has in hand, the more powerful the weapon Sloth – The being of slowness can have a very slow movement but very high damage output Wrath – Increase all stats by two times but at a cost of your sanity Pride – Being as pride, it does not like other charka except for its owner, thus it will push aside all other charka.
Colour to discern the seven members: Red Orange Yellow Green Cyan Blue Purple/Indigo Pink/Violet
(Note that each member can have a max of two weapons, one Virtue, one Vice and I’m stating the suggested effects but not the type of each weapon as I want it to be versatile for other members that want to join. Please take a look at the last post after approval as I’ll state who takes which Vice, Virtue and Colour.)
Location: Scattered
Clan History: Long ago, war broke out. Countless lives lost in the blood stained grounds, bodies rotting, souls left unrest. Scarlet flames swirl in wake, devouring anything in its path. Merciless. Unforgiving. It comes after each battle. It’s fate? To cleanse! It’s desire? To give peace to those who have passed on.
In truth the clan was just scattered bits of nomadic people. They have no intension nor relation to what happened to the outside world. They preferred to throw everything not normal to them and live in peace as they travelled from place to place, gaining knowledge on much of the geography of the world, not to mention some well hidden ancient temples, shires and hideouts. They also have wide knowledge over many rumours, myths and legends that held were around at that time.
Among every mystery, one of them stood out the most. The legend of the temple of judgement, Tamashī no handan. Although, none of the seven members founding members of the clan went there as of yet, the legend spread like a virus, unrelenting, ever putting people in a trance state of desire. Everyone thought it was salvation and eternal bliss that will be found inside but the clan founders stayed away, fearful that the corruption will get to them.
Alas, they couldn’t escape the fate that which the temple already predicted. Soon, all of the ten leaders and their families meet at the temple. The famed mystery of the temple of black and white. One side it was rotting with darkness, malice and sin, the other with pureness, clarity and virtue. Stunning it was but something or someone stood out. A certain elderly caretaker, stood to greet them. Unknowingly, their life has already been changed when they first came to know about the temple.
Time passed and each of the founding members changed, their families were told to wait for them far away, at the nearby river they all meet. Soon a ritual started, the caretaker revealed to be an immortal lady named Shikieiki Yamaxanadu, her job to get people to help her judge the living and send souls to their final resting place. She granted each of them a power they will never forget. Separate souls representing seven colours, their hairs having the colours of their respecting souls and weapons each depicting a vice and a virtue. Their gold was simple, to help people leave behind regrets and finally leave the world in peace.
Shocked by their predicament, each of them went down the path and the only way to move on was forward but slowly, each member will find themselves ever tied to this path. Unable to run away. “The truth is that peace is always within..” Shikieiki said before the seven founding members left the temple and it will forever stay the same as time goes on for eternity.
History:
Birth:
Hakumei's birth was really of no importance. Being from a traveling family, he was hardly noticed with their constant struggles with survival. Really, he was just a nuisance to the family; taking up space, eating their food, wasting their time. Hakumei wasn't even his birth name. Of the few things Hakumei knew about his past, his time of birth was one of them.
Just as the sun was rising, the twilight of the day, the night falling to disappear on the horizon, Hakumei was being birthed. This, Hakumei knew about only because he asked his mother before she started to really dislike him. While his mother nor father gave him a name, Haku was left to give himself a name, deciding to go with the time of day he was born, Hakumei; Twilight.
Growing Up:
Hakumei's childhood was not a normal one to most ninjas. Considering the fact most ninja lived in a village, he was already askew from the norm. Haku lived only with his parents and siblings, of which he had two, traveling between villages constantly. Though he had siblings, Haku found himself spending much of his time alone. He did not know that eventually he would become a ninja like most, yet did just as much if not more preparing for the Academy.
The parents of Hakumei never gave him special attention despite he was the youngest of the three children, opposite what seems to happen with the youngest of families. More often than not, Hakumei has been scolded by his parents for wandering off. Being a traveling family one can see why this would be a problem.
Although it seems like they care, Haku's parents didn't really. One could argue that they cared enough to tell him not to wander off, but this is not the case. The people that gave Hakumei life only did things that would benefit themselves and having an extra hand to help them with their dirty work was always useful. Beyond that, they would be responsible for any kind of trouble Hakumei would get into if they were in a village, something quite inefficient indeed.
Bad Parents:
Hakumei's parents were ninja of course. Once affiliated with a village, they rose in the ranks of the shinobi system only to find that selflessness was a need for one to reach the highest ranks. Though personal training would grant them the power of a high ranking ninja, they wanted more.
Greed is a deadly sin, a sin that has taken the lives of many a man to the point of being eternally damned. Ever wanting more and more, Greed overtook Haku's parents while they were Jounin to the point that they could no longer stay within the confines of society's rules. They were smart enough to realize that if they stayed the way they were they would be punished for the crimes they committed on the side of their regular ninja missions.
In an effort to at least stall this, they left the village, but not becoming Missing-nin. Their crimes were never discovered, and they decided to hide under the cover of being 'retired'. While this is never true for a shinobi, they augmented the idea by saying they would live out on the countryside away from the strife that comes to people without jobs in the city.
While doing their traveling, Hakumei's parents did assassination jobs among many other crimes to make money. Instead of buying things in each village they came across, his parents would buy only from traveling merchants, hiding their trail of money spent. If they could, they would steal instead of honestly buying, but never going so far as stealing from someone they knew was more powerful than them. Of course, this kind of lifestyle was never good for a growing child.
Realization:
“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him. “
As they say, “all good things must come to an end” and to people like Haku's parents it was only a matter of time. While they seemed to have cut their ties with their village, this was not true. Since their supposed leaving of the ninja world, they were kept under watch, the style in which they fought noted, and their specific mannerisms adequately researched.
For people like Haku's parents, there was no epic fight before their death. They expected to coast the rest of their life, living the life of traveling murderers without regret or sympathy towards those they killed. Living this way, they felt invincible and this was their downfall.
On an average night, not unlike any other, the ANBU of their village came to dispose of the traitors. Haku's parents were sleeping soundly, the invincibility they felt that they had no need to be prepared even during sleep for battle. Like a true assassin, the ANBU that came killed Haku's parents, far from where Haku himself was at.
Haku's siblings had slept with his parents that night, so unfortunately for them they would die as well, the ANBU destroying any evidence of Haku's parents of ever being alive. Haku, being the little explorer he was, left before the ANBU came to a nearby pond and was skipping rocks across its still surface.
It was silent then, the only sounds coming from the forest around him and his own breathing. This silence was broken as he skipped stones across the pond's surface to ease his mind. Haku often did this when he was feeling particularly bored or unloved. The silence of the night was then broken with the sound of an explosion, causing Haku to immediately turn his head towards the sound. As he did this, he saw flames burst far above the treeline enough so that he could tell that it came from where his family was last at.
Haku wanted to go see what it was, but then he remembered that his parents told him to never disturb them. When he was more foolish and young Haku would occasionally follow his parents to their jobs, when he would normally be left alone to do as he pleased or stay under watch of his siblings. This action caused him to see just what exactly his parents did during the day; the crimes they committed on daily basis. Haku never knew that what they did was a bad thing, so he never asked.
Eventually feeling tired long after the fire that had started burned out, Haku returned to the place his family was staying only to find cinders and hot black ash. Haku did not cry, nor did he smile. Seeing something shining within the ashes, Haku ignored the still-hot ash and made his way to where it was. He kicked away the ash to reveal a Xanadu family Virtue weapon. He took it and felt its warmth from the burning, but ignored it. As he let it cool down, Haku felt something was missing.
Though the place was mostly ash, there was a place that had more ash than any other, something suspicious Haku had noticed when he arrived. Moving a large pile of ash again, he found the partially melted down skeleton of his father. With it, was the weapon for the Xanadu Vice of Greed. Although apprehensive about taking it, Haku knew that he must and did so.
Affiliation:
Hakumei had nowhere to go after the death of his parents and siblings. After all, he was quite young and without any information about his family. From the resting place of his family, Hakumei wandered along the road, getting help from the various passerby.
Eventually Hakumei found himself in the Heat Country. More specifically, Hakumei had made it to Boufuugakure. Despite its heavy raining, Hakumei felt it was quite homely. He wondered briefly where his parents were from, but then dismissed the thought because it really didn't matter anymore, he was on his own and no one was going to help him.
Since he had nowhere to go and nothing to do, Hakumei became a shinobi for the village and went to the Academy. Having done much while traveling, the Academy was a breeze for Hakumei despite his age and many people resented him for it. He didn't mind, his parents were always worse than what he had to put up with at the Academy.
Still being homeless, Hakumei got himself a job for a while and found that he loved money. While with his parents, he was never even allowed to see the stuff and since he was making it on his own now, he could truly love it for what it was. Hakumei lived where he worked, so he had a place to stay as well as a job that would make him money.
At the Academy, Hakumei trained with his weapons and found a particular liking for Genjutsu, so much so that he decided to specialize in it. Being a worldly person, coming up with various landscapes for a Genjutsu was simple. However, he was not just an illusionist. After having found the weapons of his deceased father, Hakumei trained constantly with them, making it a strategy to use a combination of his illusions to confuse his opponents while he went in for the kill with his weapons.
Despite Hakumei's love for killing, he was never allowed to engage in that particular act in the Academy. While on missions that gave him the option of doing so, though, he would, and would enjoy it like a favorite meal. For a good time, Hakumei was happy where he was in life, keeping up with a schedule of training with both Genjutsu and his weapons, as well as making money as best he could for his age, finding that he enjoyed having more and more money more so than he did killing things. He never once considered it strange, for he never knew what 'normal' was anyways.
A Demon, butchered:
The sky was blackened to the point that visibility was completely gone and the air was unnaturally cold. It was an eternal night, with the sun showing no signs of ever rising again. It had been this bleak for weeks now, but no one really knew why. That is, until the Demon had made itself known. There were rumors that there were more than one in the world, but only one was a major problem to the Storm: The Demon Butcher.
The Storm Village’s Kage asked for volunteers that would help him defeat the demon, but only two offered themselves. Those two were a random storm villager and Hakumei. Hakumei would never turn down a chance to rid this world of evil. Even still, the trio sought out on their quest to defeat the evil being.
Even before they had arrived, they knew that it was going to be a disgusting battle, as the putrid odor exuded from the building for miles and it only got worse the closer that had went. The demon’s lair was filled with the body parts of his victims, while blood flowed almost like a river out of the cave. It was lit only just so by torches along the walls, objects barely capable of being coherently seen by the human eye. Hakumei largely ignored all of this, his one sole motivation being the destruction of the monstrous demon hiding there.
Underlings had found the trio and were going to report to the Demon Butcher, but were slaughtered near-instantly. Another wave of them came, but their fates were no different. Soon, The Butcher came to deal with the ruckus, and found itself pitted against a Kage, a Jounin (Hakumei), and another storm villager. It was no match for them.
The beast fell quickly to their combination of swift attacks, having little time to recuperate or counterattack. Completely destroyed by the massive assault launched by the three, the demon and his lair were entirely obliterated. It was a satisfying victory on all of their parts, but more so on Haku’s part, as he got to keep the demon’s weapon, Blut Klinge.
They left the horrid place before it had collapsed and were greeted with a clear sunlit day. The evil creatures had vanished from the planet, and the woodland creatures returned to their merry selves. Birds were chirping again and other forest animals continued their regular routine. It was there that the trio split up, returning to the storm village at their own discretion.

Spoiler:
“The Hidden Star Village, eh?” Midnight said aloud to himself, looking at a map to get to it. Not many people knew how to find the village, let alone that it existed. Midnight didn't know of its existence either until he had gotten his mission to observe the villages and report to the Raikage. Currently, he was still within Amegakure and needed to travel to the Bear Country.
It was pouring down rain, the signature of the Rain Village and Midnight was standing in his home, all alone. He had lived all alone since he was a child, completely fine with it. This loneliness is a good thing really, living with other people probably wouldn't be a safe thing for them considering his slight insanity problem. Midnight considered the fact that finding an unknown village would prove to be difficult on its own, let alone a storm slowing him down. Still, he pressed on, knowing he needed to get this done for his Raikage, and for himself. He didn't know why it was called the Star Village, especially since stars have nothing to do with bears. Although, leaves and fire don't have that much in common either. At least, his country, the Rain Country, had the Rain Village for its village, which happened to actually make sense.
No one was really outside in this rain, no one ever really was unless they were off to do something important, so Midnight left it without anyone noticing. Not that anyone was paying attention anyway, there was no real leader that needed to be protected or anything the Rain Village had to offer to outsiders. So Midnight went on, leaving his country to finish his mission.
After a long and arduous journey, Midnight made it to the Star Village with little but a map and his skills, not without a few cuts and bruises of course. He had of course run into bandits, and as a ninja, he brutally mur-- I mean, defeated them and went on his merry way. With the rain slowing him down along with the bandits and various other obstacles, he made it there when it was nighttime. He would have to conduct observations at night and again in the morning. So Midnight had a decision to make, stay up all night and day after his long journey to document his observations or make them in the morning. Considering he was already pretty tired from the travel there, he decided with the latter.
Considering he was supposed to be somewhat covert, he didn't immediately enter the village. Not that he could anyways, the poison mist in the abyss surrounding the village would surely kill him since he hadn't the slightest idea of where a bridge might be nearby. Making a light camp without a fire in a massive tree that had a space between the trunk and its roots, Midnight decided he wanted to be dry in the morning when he would begin his scouting. With his camp set up and his internal clock set to wake him up at dawn, he fell asleep, hoping that someone patrolling the village wouldn't find him there.
When Midnight awoke, he found that it never stopped raining. What a torrent it's been lately, he thought, considering the weather for the past few days had been all rain. He had then felt lucky he didn't live in a rocky environment, there would be so much mud to deal with, along with floods and mud slides. Midnight then packed up his camping gear, which was only a blanket really, and put it in a pouch on the back of his pants. He then donned a dark blue cloak and used Henge no Jutsu to slightly change his appearance so that he seemed less threatening, also removing from view his Sugar Cutter and Sugar Extractor. With that complete, he began to travel along the crevice that separated him from the main village, taking note in his report that it would be especially difficult to invade with large numbers, a small, powerful group would be best. Also considering the gas, someone immune to poison would be useful for something like an invasion. Shaking his head to put his thought back in order, he spotted a bridge not too far off.
Midnight approached the bridge with apprehension. It would've taken such skill to have made a bridge across the crevice without dying from the gas. Who knew if it was even stable or not? Since he another way to get into the village, he decided to just go on it into the village. He also took note of this bridge, writing that a rock element user would be helpful as well, since they could make a much sturdier bridge than the flimsy one he was about to go across.
The bridge he was about to step on wasn't broken in any way, but the way it was made made him not trust it. The weak bridge across the crevice was made of only lumber and rope, a swinging bridge really. He noted its strategic importance if invaders were to come, they could simply cut off the end of it to stop their attack. Since Midnight wasn't an invader, he stepped onto the bridge and began to walk across it, paying careful attention to how close the bridge would bend under his weight and get close to the gas below. It never got close enough for it to be dangerous to him, but it kept him nervous anyways.
After only a few minutes of walking, Midnight made it across the bridge and into a few tree forest. Considering the gas probably killed some of the trees and the fact humans lived nearby, he was surprised that there were even this many trees left here. Among the trees, he could make out buildings in the distance. Nothing specific, however, since it was still raining and he had no special vision that helped him see. Thinking that the buildings were most likely the Star Village, he took off under the cover of the trees to get closer to the village, where he should be, to observe.
As he neared the village, he could tell that this was not where they would be training. There only seemed to be administration buildings where he was at, possibly even just civilian homes. Midnight briefly wondered if the ninjas' parents lived in the same village or if they had come from another village or country. The buildings here didn't seem to house too many individuals. Midnight walked to the largest building there, which he assumed was the village leader's office due simply to its size.
As it seemed no one was outside in the rain, Midnight had no problem sneaking about. He then went into what he assumed was the village leader's building through an open window, checking first to make sure no one was there. He noticed right away that he was dripping all over the hardwood floor. In an effort to hide his presence, he removed the cloak and draped it on the windowsill, he would get it later. Midnight knew that if someone saw the cloak there they would be apt to report an intruder or a trespasser, so he used Henge to make it blend in with the windowsill. Although that covered the appearance of the cloak being there, it didn't hide the water that was dripping from it, leaving a dark spot in the windowsill and droplets of water on the floor beneath it. Finishing that, he turned back to the building he was in.
Midnight was right to assume that it was the village leader's office as there was a desk and a staircase that led up to the next floor. The door to the outside was closed at the time and the windows had no panes, only open holes for windows. None of those things let Midnight know that it was the village leader's office, what let him know that it was was the papers on the desk. The papers that were on the desk seemed to be regular kage papers, plenty of forms to fill out and mission scrolls. Along with the typical kage papers, Midnight also found that there were blueprints with the papers. Midnight went through these, wondering what they were for. Upon further inspection of the blueprints, he found that they were blueprints of the main five shinobi countries. Their main villages' structures and buildings outlines in the blueprint, along with any secret tunnels that were there. Knowing they would become suspicious if he took these, Midnight left them, not bothering to make a copy either, he never was very good or fast with making such things. Realizing that the Star Village was probably planning an attack on the villages, he made sure to take note of this in his report. As he finished writing his report, he figured it was about time he checked the other parts of the Star Village.
Gathering his cloak and putting it on, Midnight jumped out of the window back into the rain. It seemed either the leader was away or perhaps upstairs. Either way, Midnight was going to move on to other parts of the village. He casually walked around the building into what seemed to be the center of what he now called the citizen area. There were several houses around this area in what was sort of a cul-de-sac, a dirt trail between two houses leading to only what Midnight could tell was a big hole. Midnight followed the trail, right through the center of the citizen area, paying no mind if anyone saw him.
It seemed no one was really there, or they were all off somewhere else. Considering it was still early morning, Midnight even went so far as to think that may be the reason why no one was really out and about at this hour. Of course, they could just be staying in their homes, hiding from Midnight. It didn't matter to him, if something came up that involved him, he would deal with it.
Midnight made it to the crater that was the hole that he had seen previously. It seemed to have two small buildings in the center of it, with something flowing between them. From where he was at, it seemed there were quite a few people clustered around the glowing thing. The crater didn't seem to be holding water though it was raining. Midnight this was odd, but didn't pay the strangeness of it as much as he did on the settlement itself. He figured it would be better if he got closer to the people that surrounded the glowing thing.
Midnight walked down the crater's somewhat steep path down towards the building to the left of him. He was careful to not cause a mudslide from the wet, steep path. Of course, this wasn't easy, the muddy path was slippery while at the same time sucking at his shoes. He didn't particularly like this, it was such an annoyance. Midnight much preferred the streets of Amegakure, no mud to be annoying like this was. He supposed that made him somewhat of an urban kid. It didn't seem like anyone had noticed his approach to the building as there was no yelling or alarms going off. Of course, Midnight didn't let his guard down, there are always people that know they're being watched. Despite those people, there are chakra sensors that could've easily detected him. With that in mind, he crept around the corner of the building to spy on the people around the glowing object.
As he rounded the corner with just his head, he noticed that the glowing object seemed to be a large rock with holes in them. Midnight wasn't an avid reader so he didn't realize that it was actually a meteor. Around the meteor, there was a couple people sitting around it, doing what looked to be meditating of sorts. Midnight hadn't done too much of it other than when he was learning how to become a sage. Natural chakra was one thing, but a meteor was something completely different.
Midnight watched as one of the people meditating fell over what seemed like randomly. He considered the fact that when one gains too much natural chakra at once, they turn into their respective summoning animal, but he wasn't quite sure what had happened to the person before the meteor. Soon after, medical ninja came out from the building to his right. He only knew they were medical ninja by the cross patch they had on their shoulders. Midnight figured now would be a good time to blend into the people and see was exactly was going on here. He ran over to the group of people that had formed around the either dead or unconscious person. The people that were with the person while meditating was with them.
“What's wrong with him?” Midnight asked one of the ninjas there. He figured since there was some confusion he could act like any of the other concerned people and ask what was up.
One of the ninjas that was meditating answered him. “This happens a lot, we who train with the meteor usually get sick from it and die. This person here probably couldn't handle it.”
Midnight wondered why they wouldn't just stop using it altogether if most people couldn't use it anyways. However, using this same thought, the people who survive it must become powerful with it. It makes sense really, but is it worth risking one's life for it?
“He should be okay, he's still alive. Go back to what you were doing,” one of the medical ninjas said, putting him on a stretcher and taking him into the building they had come from.
Midnight took note of how this village seemed to be working. The Star Village...trains with a meteor to their possible death. How odd... he thought.
Midnight wondered how much more powerful one could be with mastery over this strange meteor's training routine. It was already obvious that it was worth risking their life over it. Though, it could also just be tradition that the risk be taken for those that live in the village. Midnight made sure that he would write it down right away or remember it so he could do that later. He decided to go with the latter since he didn't feel like doing that in the rain.
Midnight didn't want to seem out of place near the meteor and all, so he began to trudge back to the main part of the village. The people that were training with the meteor before returned to what they were doing, ignoring him it seemed. The rain continued to fall, just like at home, seemingly endlessly. Midnight then realized he was feeling a bit homesick. This mission seemed like it was just about done, The ninjas who trained with the meteor were sickly people who could possibly gain great power from a giant rock that could have quite possibly created the crater in the village. The village's name could have come simply from the rock. Midnight even considered the idea of stealing the meteor.
Midnight walked from the crater to a place under a nearby tree. He wrote down all of the previous things in his report about the Hidden Star Village. Since he wrote it in a scroll, he put it in a pouch for scrolls on his back waist. It seemed that his time here had come to an end. So with that, he left the Village and headed back to the Cloud Village, where the Raikage would be waiting for his report.
