Personality: A very "Icy" person around others, he would prefer to keep his nose in a book rather than listen to others talk of their petty lives. When he is forced to speak with someone he is often to the point, and shows occasional hints of sarcasm. He is a male example of a tsundere, and those who come close to him will see him smile.
He views lesser shinobi as pawns, a typical view of his clan, they are to be used in combat only if they are used for the pursuit of peace, as opposed to war. He has a firm hatred in betrayal, and has no social skills whatsoever. He can give quite a speech, which may come from his constant mental consumption of literature.
Likes: He prefers to read books, as stated above, though typically anything that is classified as fiction will trouble him. He enjoys being left alone, preferring to live a life of solitude as opposed to one that involves the meddlesome problems of others. He also enjoys being tested, anything to prove his intelligence is viewed as positive in his eyes.
Dislikes: He cannot stand others, save for a very few, and those people were tested so that their intelligence would be proven to him. He has very little concern for others, and dislikes loud noises as they disrupt his concentration on whatever book he's currently enjoying.
Motivation: The only thing he wishes to get out of life is to prove the Takeda's intelligence, nothing more. Anything else is but a stepping stone on that path. He could be Kage of a village and not care.
Fears: He does not like crowds due to the sheer number of people in close proximity, however, he has a fear of being loved. (No joke) due to the feeling his parents said they loved him, when all they did was hurt.
Takeda Clan

Location: Originally from the Land of Iron. Now located in Sunagakure no Sato
Clan History: The Takeda originated from the Land of Iron around the same time Sunagakure was founded, they were originally positioned in a fief called Kai. The Takeda began as freelance strategists whose services quickly led to their exile, in fear of their intelligence. They were known for being ruthless and having little regard for their soldiers (or 'pawns' as they called them.)
Following their exile from the Land of Iron, they relocated to The Land of Snow, some travelled afar, and others simply tried to raise armies to conquer the Land of Iron.. However, these efforts were in vain.
Over time, the Takeda family and its retainers became idle, the cold was too much, the local Daimyo no longer respected their genius, and the local Uesugi clan formed a rivalry with the Takeda. They clashed several times yearly at a plain known as Kawanakajima, which almost always led to a stalemate. After the Takeda's supply of salt was stolen by a group of bandits, the leader of Uesugi, Kenshin gifted them with a large supply of salt, stating they fought with swords instead.
Decline:
Eventually Uesugi died out, and because of this, Takeda became uninterested in anything but the pursuit of knowledge. With that, they left for the great shinobi nation of Shippugakure, but were jumped by bandits on the way, causing many-a-soldier to die. Few survived, and because of Shippou's insane storms, the Takeda were forced to move to another village, choosing Sunagakure.
During the trek through the desert, many members of the clan either caught diseases, or died due to the local beasts (sandworms, scorpions.) Leaving but one young adult left to take the mantle of leader.
History: Born in the city of Ueda, within Kai on a January morning, the child was the son of Nohime and Shingen Takeda, two well respected strategists in their own regard, yet, his father was unable to witness his birth, and his mother did not even hold him, opting to read instead. This caused a rift to form between himself and the world at a very early age. He was also born very frail due to illness, the doctors said he was lucky to survive even being born.
Though it would seem unlikely, the boy was a genius on the battlefield, choosing to monitor the troop positions from his father's tent using maps, it was he who had made perfect calculations to destroy various warring clans, and it was he who spent all of his time reading.
By the age of ten, the boy had witnessed battle first hand within the city, during an invasion, the boy used quick thinking to deduce the one spot the enemy could not see an attack coming from, and from there, he would launch arrows from his bow at enemy soldiers.
This was not a good idea. Within moments he was surrounded by soldiers wielding swords and bows alike, and then it happened. As if from nowhere, a rain of arrows came down and skewered his foes, and when the men dropped, his father stood before him. A slight smile on his face, one of combined pride and arrogance, a problem he had passed on to his son.
"My boy, you need to think of the consequences of your actions before you act, that wuold've been a brilliant plan had you thought it through entirely."
The child nodded, his father never called him anything except 'boy' or 'child' and it depressed him. His mother was a bit more gentle, calling him 'Light' as opposed to his full name.
During the purge, the boy was given a crimson scarf by a dying member of the clan, with frostbitten fingers, and frozen tears attempting to stream down his face, he took the scarf, and wrapped it around himself. Sure enough, these fools would rather die for the child, rather than see his rule of Takeda.
Upon the family's arrival into the quaint town that would later become a hidden village known as Yukigakure, they were greeted with open arms, and many were forced to switch jobs, from freelance strategists to freelance shinobi, this did not however, include the boy, who spent all of his time isolating himself.
It was then that it happened. What you may ask? Uesugi. With the death of his father when he was but fifteen, he had become the next head of Takeda, and in doing so, forged a rival with the old warlord known as Kenshin, Bishamonten No Shin (The True Bishamonten; God of War)
The two armies marched for the opposing faction, with Uesugi gaining the high ground, the boy's vocation as a strategist allowed him to see through the original ninjutsu tactics employed by Uesugi. He had masterminded the building of the Kaizu fortress near the Saijou Mountain, where his enemy made his camp, and yet, they had let them take it without a fight.
Meanwhile, a secondary squad of the most elite Takeda shinobi appeared in the enemy's main camp, though Kenshin had yet to surrender, he was most certainly impressed by the young strategist.
The older male had sent his own attack squadron for their main camp, and as a result, this battle resulted in a stalemate.
Following the death of Kenshin three years later, the Takeda were forced to move yet again, this time, to the Hidden Hurricane Village, during the trip to the harbor that would take them there, they had to pass through another country, they met bandits at Nagashino, armed with bows and wooden barricades, the muddy earth caused the soldiers to fall, making easy targets. Most of Takeda's non-shinobi died that day.
On the boat, his mother approached him as he looked over the maps.
"My son, what on earth is wrong with you? All you do is study tactics, nonstop! You should eat, you should rest!"
The young man immediately responded with a cold glare that could freeze even Hell, and a tone to match, "Father did this, yet you never complained. Silence yourself before you push me beyond my limits."
The woman sighed, and protested, "You're a stubborn child, that is for certain. It makes me want to smile, it really does." but there was nothing but a look of sadness in her eyes.
"Your arrows, long only to find the target, your blade longs only to strike down its foe. Yet you have never once thought that failure is a part of human nature, nor that to protect is better than to destroy."
Lightning was practically ready to toss his mother out of the room now, due to being absolutely livid.
"My arrows yearn to find a target that will bring peace to Takeda." He then walked away, leaving the woman dumbfounded at her son's impertinence.
Upon arrival in Shippugakure, the family almost instantly noticed the terrible hurrcanes that plagued the area, and were forced to move, they left for Tsukigakure, but took a detour through the Land of Wind.
Though many-a-shinobi perished during the trek, Lightning was confident that his mother would survive, however, the ill child had passed his disease onto her during the trip, and this would kill her. Though he was able to survive as an infant, it is unknown how or why he was able to.
Upon entering Tsuki, he joined the academy, and recently passed. His journey is only beginning.
RP Sample: Lightning sighed, why did he always have to deal with such imbeciles? How had he gotten himself into this mess? He was beaten down, bleeding yet again, but why? What had happened was, yet again, he had unknowingly insulted another student, prompting them to take one of his books again.
He was very protective of his literature, as though it was his only link with the world he knew. This book was precious however, the Takeda clan's emblem was inscribed on the cover, it was a personal chronicle detailing the events of the family's stay in Sunagakure.
Due to his lack of physical strength, he had relied on intelligence to defeat the first two opponents, first using one's lack of skill to make him accidentally hit the other, then, a simple Bunshin to confuse them. How foolish were they, honestly? But this arrogance is what lead to his downfall.
He was aware that Bunshin could not physically interact with the environment, which is why, when an opponent attacked him instead of an illusionary clone, he was quite surprised. This fool had noticed the lack of shadow, or perhaps the inability to make a noise? Either way, one punch was all it took. His father would've said
"If you can't take a punch, then you are truly a Takeda."
This would've made Light the greatest Takeda of all. Not only was he bleeding, but he had passed out.
There was a brief moment where he cursed his illness, and his own frailty, but he had learned to focus on speed and intelligence rather than strength.
