Today was a very different day, as he was to take on another task, one that would require a delicate touch of sorts. One that would truly test his mettle against the odds. One that would involve an unpredictable foe. Children. It would seem that there was to be a birthday part for a young one and the parents thought it a good idea to hire a shinobi for the entertainment. This was all well and good and the thought of the children of Hyougagakure being pleased to see him was an enticing thought as well.
Regardless of if he liked it or not, it was a mission and one that he would take like any other. He was not one to rush things and saw no reason to start now. It was not hard to find the small get together as the group of seven or eight children running around playing a game of tag was not a hard thing to miss. The parents were the first to notice his approach and a couple made there way to greet him.
"Are you the ninja that we've been waiting for?" asked the man "
I am, I've been sent via mission to ensure that your kids are properly entertained." The woman clapped her hands together "Thank goodness, we were starting to think that no one would have accepted the invite before the day was over, please, just... be careful." The man looked to the woman "Honey, he is a trained shinobi, there shouldn't be any need for worry." "
He's right. I will make sure that nothing goes array and everyone can walk away happy."
The woman smiled and nodded as the couple called the children over to see Lee and a few were actually a bit scared of the man and he took note of. He looked around and then looked around and pointed to the man that had greeted him "
Sir, could you come here for just a moment." The man pointed at himself and Lee nodded and the man walked over with little fuss "Yes?" Lee then spoke a bit louder than normal but pretended to whisper "
I don't think the kids like me very much, I do think they like you...yes, they like you a lot soooo..." He walked behind the man and quickly formed the hands signs for the dog, boar, and the ram as he crouched and walked behind the man and as he reappeared, took the spitting image of him "
I'll try looking like you for a bit!"
Lee stood beside the man as his spitting image, right down to the clothes he wore. He then turned to the man and the man turned to Lee. There was a moment of pause before they slowly began to move, in unison, almost like looking into a mirror.
"This is pretty cool." The man spoke and Lee mimicked the words perfectly. Some kids began to laugh, minus one. Lee took note of this and held his hands together and in a blink of an eye, four clones of the man appeared and many of the kids began to clap their hands but, yet again, minus the one. Tears slowly began to fill the child's eyes and then, without further delay, the child burst out crying. One of the mother's shook her head in disappointment "He just can't enjoy himself, can he?"
Lee looked from the mother and then down to the boy and broke away from the mimic act and stepped through the small crowd of children. He stopped in front of the boy and crouched down and the boy's crying stopped as he stared at Lee as suddenly, in a poof of smoke, the clones disappeared and Lee crouched before the child "
You not liking the show?" The child slowly started to shake his head but stared at Lee for a moment longer and the shake turned itself into a slow nod "i-i do." Lee smiled and placed his hand atop the boy's head and moved his hands inside of his sleeves and when he rose up, he held his hand high so that the children would not see the cuts he had formed in his hand.
The blood began to formulate and first, turned itself into a long spear that Lee began to spin around in the air as he made his way back to the front. He stopped the spinning and the spear shifted and took the shape of a fūma shuriken that he began to spin around and as he went to throw it into the air, it shifted once again and took the shape of a short sword and as he caught it on its way down, turned into a pair of shuriken that he threw off into the air to land into the side of a tree. The children began to clap with amazement and joy.
The rest of the party was Lee transforming and disappearing, leaving a log in his place only to show up behind the children. The parents were pleased with the result as they waved goodbye to Lee.
