Catch a cat, eh? Can't be that hard. Spira said to himself, as he walked cautiously through the area, searching high and low, but alas, he was not seeing the cat in question anywhere. He walked all across the Glade, climbing every tree, some taller than others, until he noticed a cat stop in front of him as he passed through once again. The two stared at each other, unblinking, as if preparing for a chase, and a chase it was. The cat took off, turning on a dime, and Spira trailed closely behind.
Spira ran and ran, but the cat was faster than he though it'd be. He continued to chase it, however he tripped on a fallen branch as he was re-entering the open circle. He flew for a couple seconds, then landed on his face, sliding about a foot or so before flipping over like a pancake. Spira, now lying on his back, stared into the sky, realizing that he might be in over his head with this mission. He thought he was hearing the cat laugh at his face-grind, and became agitated. ARGH!! That stupid cat!! He shouted as he jumped to his feet.
Spira now chased after the cat, not because it was his mission, but because he felt he had something to prove. He chased after the cat like a relentless demon, letting nothing stop him. He slid under high branches, and jumped over low ones, however as he jumped over a low branch, he failed to notice a higher one behind it, and ended up taking it to the face, landing on his back once again.
He laid on his back once again, contemplating how he was going to capture the goal unharmed. Alright... this is getting ridiculous. Spira stood to his feet once more, brushing off the dirt and such that had stuck to him, and started walking towards the opening. As he stepped toward the center, he sat down, as if getting ready to meditate. Spira felt that he must clam himself before something were to happen, and to do so, he meditated. He did so for an hour before hearing the cat meow. He opened his eyes to see the cat jump and trample his face before running off again.
Alright cat... This means war. Spira grumbled as he stood to his feet, now with paw prints on his face. He watched the cat climb an acorn tree, as if daring him to follow, and follow he did. He activated his bone claw jutsu, and began making his way up the tree. Before he could make it to the third branch, the cat began to knock off acorns. Spira took several acorns to the face, one of which hit him in the left eye, causing him to fall off the tree entirely.
As Spira lay on the ground, he realized he hadn't lost his left eye, rather he had blinked before any damage could be dealt. Regardless, he was now angry, and he would stop at nothing to catch the cat the cat that had caused him so much trouble. He began to climb the tree once again, and the cat had seemed to realize that it was stuck, yowling and whining out of it's apparent realization that Spira would indeed catch that cat.
After about ten minutes of climbing, Spira had finally reached the cat, staring at it as if contemplating what he was to do at this point. He reached for the cat, stretching his hand, hoping the cat would come quietly. The cat would climb onto Spira, as if going to use him as a way down, and a way down he would be. Spira began his climb down, but lost his grip, falling, only to be saved by one of the lower branches. Spira was now hanging by his coat, holding the cat out in front of him, staring at it as if he were going to say something.
A few seconds passed, and the branch cracked, loudly holding the combined weight of Spira and the cat. Spira, now annoyed, looked at the cat, and said three words. You're the devil. After he had said this, the branch snapped, sending Spira and the cat to the ground, ten feet below. Spira had landed first, on his feet, trying to maintain his balance. The cat, who had seemed to escape Spira's grip during the fall, landed on Spira's face as he looked up, causing him to fall backwards. Spira grabbed the cat, holding it above him, as if he were going to speak again, but Spira wouldn't say another word as he stood to his feet, holding onto the seemingly unharmed cat with the fierce determination to finish the mission.
