Shikotsumyaku: Expand - Spoiler:
Name: Shikotsumyaku: Expand Canon/Custom: Custom Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu - Kekkei Genkai Element: None Range: 10 yards Specialty: Ninjutsu Duration: Instant - Bones remain in this state Cooldown: 4 Description: Using the Kekkei Genkai Shikotsumyaku, this jutsu simply expands the size of the user's bones (subsequently increasing weight) which are outside the body. Nothing else. Properties and density remain completely unchanged. Multiple bones can be increased in size in one use. You cannot alter previously existing bone. It's like adding molten lava to an already formed rock. The rock which is already there will not change, however the lava cools and adds to the size and shape of the rock already there. One can control it to any proportion or distribution they like. The maximum total increase in volume per use of this technique is 10 Cubic Feet. Regardless of the amount of expansion, it will ALWAYS take 3 seconds to reach the intended size.
Meditation. Quiet. Thought. Peace. Bliss. These words swirled in the head of Moku as he sat high in a Sakura Tree, contemplating so many things and nothing at the same time. He contemplated nothing quite literally. Exactly what it was to be “nothing.” Nothing, no one, without a name or purpose or thought. Alert and groggy at the same time, Moku slipped out of the tree so gracefully that one could think he was free-falling in his sleep. Not a muscle moved or twitched, and when he landed from a height that would break bones of any normal man, he simply rubbed his ankles and continued on.
There was a certain part of the Jungle that he had in mind. A secluded, private piece of land that Moku owned himself. It wasn’t large, or vast, or impressive in the slightest to anyone who did not see the pleasure of living in solitude. However, to him, the three walls of Earth which took the form of great, sky-lining cliffs and the small opening on one end almost like a land-anchored peninsula meant one thing: alone time. Ever since he’d done what he had to Ryujin, the village rarely looked at him the same. People of all ages recognized him and where most Shinobi looked admiringly at him, the civilians seemed to hate and fear him. Except the elders. Elders were the only people who seemed to understand the pain of what he had done.
The Kaguya shook himself mentally and reminded himself that today, he meant business. He’d been stricken with an idea that if he could expand bones already outside his body, not only could he produce smaller bones and thus recover from them faster, he could re-use old and broken bones, and even utilize his pack of crushed bone fragments turning them to weapons of full size without further damaging his body or taking time to rip bones out of his body.
The elite ninja plunged his hand into his clothes, and approaching a tree stump, withdrew three objects which he lay on the make-shift wooden table before him. The objects were of an ominous milky-white, dense substance. At first, to any other person, they couldn’t be recognized for what they were. However, close inspection could reveal that they were, indeed, probably the densest bones that the observer had ever beheld. Most people could not break them with their own brute strength. These bones, Moku’s bones, would be the center of his training today.
He was hoping to create a technique called Shikotsumyaku: Expand. A Ninjutsu which could do exactly what it was he imagined; expand exterior bones. For a while, he had no idea how he would do this, or where to even start. Performing Ninjutsu as a Kaguya was... quite complicated indeed. Without a medium of hand seals to concentrate and apply chakra, one had to consciously and intricately mold their chakra in a way that would allow them to gain the intended effect, and even then, most known jutsu were completely unavailable to the Kaguya.
Moku stroked the bone he lay in the middle before beginning. The first time he simply tried to “make it bigger.” He thought that if he bombarded the bone with chakra and with that intent in mind, it would somehow miraculously read his thoughts and obey them. Of course he was unsuccessful. He next had the idea that he could “pull” on the edges and ends of the bone and make it stretch, or get bigger. Once more, he was unsuccessful.
More ideas and thoughts passed through his mind. He wound up trying many things, including stroking his finger across the bone, infusing it with chakra, hoping the bone would grow in the direction that the Kaguya was stroking. Then it struck him; he was trying to write the answer to the equation before he wrote the equation and worked it out. In other words, he was trying to produce the end result without following the steps needed to get there.
So now he made his attemot at his new theory; Moku held the bone in his hand and filled it with his chakra. Next, rather than trying to simpy expand the matter that was there, Moku replicated the Calcium and other material that could be found in the bone of a human and controlled its deposits. He induced the creation of cells in his bone and essentially, they grew, rather than expanded. Because it was his first attempt, the jutsu drained him, and produced very little result. He could tell the bone changed because it was rougher; almost as if the Calcium deposited incompletely, in little bumps.
As the day wore on, more attempts at the jutsu were made. He made a goal to expand small bone shrapnel to full-length swords, at a larger distance and without contact. The jutsu progressed in very distinct stages. Like the first attempt, for a long while, the jutsu was uncontrolled, small, and drained him terribly. Slowly, he managed to produce larger results; though still uncontrolled, he eventually managed to turn a small nugget into a basketball-sized ball. Not the shape at all that he intended, but it was progress that he could not deny.
Soon after he managed to expand the jutsu to what he guessed was its max capacity, or at least close to it, he began to control the deposits. The shape, and location that the bone would grow in. The previously mentioned basketball became less round. It became longer, and thinner. Slowly and ever so slowly, he could make the distinct shape of a blade. Though it was not exactly smooth, nor correctly proportionalized, it was doubtless that there was great improvement in his performance of the jutsu. It was simply motivation for him to keep going, and keep trying.
When the basketball was completely replaced by an immaculate katana made of bone, Moku was satisfied enough to move on to the next milestone; reducing the chakra cost of the technique. As it stood, the technique required too much chakra to be of any use. However, it did not take too long to rid himself of this obstacle as well. For as he practiced more and more, he began to master the technique, and after he was completely satisfied by the needed amount of chakra, about that of a C-Rank technique, he decided any other progress would have to wait until the next day. And with that, he found himself a nice, soft patch of mold and slept.
