Personality: He is the straight man, you see. Someone who is more serious then not. Devoid of some of the charisma and eccentricity that some of the others in his village seem to have. In a sense, he is far more dull then the rest, but being down to earth isn't necessarily a bad thing. Not to him, anyways. He takes things like missions seriously. Not because of a sense of duty but more because of the reward. To say that money is important to him would be an understatement. It isn't just money, though. Material things as a whole intrigue him. To want more and more is a curse he has been struck by. His inner self tempting him to steal. At the same time, though, he is blessed with excessive amounts of self control. Enough to hold back his urge for everything enough to where it is no more then an interest of him and not something that swipes away his own sanity. He also is a complete dunce with ninjutsu and most other techniques requiring chakra. Almost to the point where he is unable to understand them, but with enough time he can manage to learn them. He is not dumb overall, though.
Due to his self control he is also very forgiving. He doesn't give into his emotions of anger or as well as others. He doesn't usually go overboard with things such as alcohol or food yet somehow cannot stop himself in the presence of riches or a chance of power. He can only hold his greed so far back. Whenever he has that chance too, he will take all that he can get but he is able to tell when it is best to hold back and when to indulge himself in all his desires. Its also because of his great self restraint that he is able to work under others. Although he prefers to be his own boss, as long as their is something to be gained from being beneath someone else he is able to hold himself back, but of course, the more freedom he is allowed the better. Being oppressed his something he utterly despises. Being controlled against his own will is disgusting. He absolutely can't stand it. Its one of those things that even he can't hold his emotions back from. The robbing of his greatest treasure, his freedom. It is one thing for him to give it to them, its is something completely different when someone takes it for themselves.
His feelings about his clan are a bit conflicted. He appreciates the tools passed down to him and he does find their mission quite noble and interesting, but he himself doesn't see what he has to gain from completing said mission. His feelings about his clans mates, subpar at best. Not really finding any need to meet them or care about them. After all, can they really even be called clans mates? He takes great pride in his own missions, though. He especially likes when the reward is high. He'll follow through just about any mission for good pay. Although there are even some extremes that he can't allow himself to do, even for mountains of gold. Missions are different then being under another power. Not like a king and a knight. More like a job and someone willing to do it. Even murder and assassination are fair game for him. As long as he sees the target as worthy of such. He still maintains a sense of loyalty to those who treat him well. His own pride and also his own compassion. Though kindness isn't something he views as a treasure, he still doesn't shy away from moments when he can show it. Of course, donating to the poor is out of the question but renting out his body for a short little time in order to help another is a different story. His thoughts of romance? Well thats something for another day.
Although he is the straight man that he is, he is able to tell when someone is joking or not. Whether he plays a long or not, it depends. He would find joy in being a king or an emperor, so gaining the favor of others is also something that fall under the list of treasures he wishes to obtain. Mercy as well is a divine power of God himself. You can connect the dots. He also harbors a soft spot for children of all sorts. Again, not enough to give them money, even in need, but enough to offer his services and perhaps even helping them earn some money. Even if he is against giving out money, he has no objection to giving money for something of equal value and vice versa. In fact, exchange works perfect for him. And last but not least, he does respect the Fubukikage. The power the man holds. Perhaps the man gained even more respect after taking the life of the emperor. To be completely honest, his feelings are still a bit cloudy about it.
Likes: Of course, money is one of the top, if not the top thing on his list of likes. Money, riches, power, he strives for all these. He has a particular interest with things that shine. Yes, gems, gold, silver, all of its fair game for him. He accepts payment in any of those and more. One could say that he wants all the worlds treasures. He likes treasures. Now even with this obsession for riches, he still has time for relaxing. See, joy is also considered a treasure. He seeks happiness and pleasure. The luxury of a king. All of these thing fit under his greed which he attempts to restrain as much as he can. As mentioned above, he still does like children. He also likes the determined and ambitious, but at the same time there is a thin moral line for both.
Dislikes: He hates to waste time. This is different then relaxing or lazing around. He doesn't view those as wastes of time do to his enjoyment of the luxuries. What he does view as wastes of time are him having to start something over again. Jobs poorly done, or delays of any sort. He also doesn't like not getting what he wants. Slow payment or no payment at all definitely fall under dislikes. Dislike is too weak a word for his feelings about that. He dislikes unfair trade or buys. Even if it is in his favor, just cause he accepts it doesn't mean he likes it. He greatly dislikes it when someone takes advantage of someone else, even more so when that person is him. Being used is just so disgusting. To be someone else's puppet, it was wrong. No one person is granted such power over others. Only the puppet should decide who pulls its strings.
Motivation: Money, respect, to acquire all the treasures the world has to offer. To be a king among men. All of these things fall under his motivation. But even he knows that he may be asking for too much. As long as he lives a full life whith no regrets. Thats what he truly wishes for. Anything less would be unthinkable. He wants others to acknowledge him in this world. And perhaps one day he will be inspired by the mission that the Xanadu were entrusted with from long ago. Doing the perfect job is something he also takes pride in. To be perfect himself is a dream he feels he may never achieve but to reach something close is enough to make him keep striving for it.
Fears: To lose everything. If he lost everything he has accumulated over the years, his money, rank, power, and respect, well, it wouldn't be pretty now. He fears that his greed may take over when it shouldn't. That it might one day force him into making the wrong decision. Something irreversible that may haunt him for the rest of his life. Things like these are what his nightmares are made up of. Things he makes sure don't happen. For if they did, he may not be capable of continuing on.
Xanadu Bloodline Name: Meikai no shugo-sha (Guardians of the Netherworld)
Bloodline Ability: Members of this clan are half-phantom and half-human. Although this is true, it also caused their Chakra pool to be completely removed from their body and deposited at a mysterious orb-like spirit of varying colour. The spirit orb can only be seen only by the members of the clan or someone who has seen death happen in front of their eyes. They have a very high level of concentration.
Genin, Chuunin:
During this level, they have to concentrate and absorb chakra from their spirit half. This makes it quite troublesome for those who want to be quick on their toes in battle. Although, they can use E~C rank jutsu’s with ease.
Sp. Jounin, Jounin, S-rank:
During this level, jutsu’s ranging from A~S rank will backfire on the caster if it involves chakra but to counter this disability members of the clan are able to merge with their spirit half for only 15 posts. Thus, letting them access Jutsu’s from A~S rank. Note that if the jutsu involves absorbing chakra from ones spirit half, it would require two posts for A~S rank unless stated. This can be used once per topic.
Below states the weapons that can be carried by the clan members. Note that the weapons are passed down from their forefathers (Explained in history).
Virtues:Chastity – Increases jutsu damage by two fold.Temperance – Dispels Genjutsu every two posts.Kindness – Heals the user passively but at a small amount.Charity – Has the ability to sap your life in return for an increase in power
Diligence – Able to continue a battle after being landed a critical hit
Patience – Increased focus, insight, foresight and senses.Humility – Does not feel fear or pain when used.Vice:Lust – Has the ability to sap life from the opponent to heal yourself.Gluttony – Loves to drink blood, the more blood, the more power.
Envy – Has the ability to copy the shape and effects of other weapons but its strength is 80% of the original.
Greed – The more Ryo one has in hand, the more powerful the weaponSloth – The being of slowness can have a very slow movement but very high damage outputWrath – Increase all stats by two times but at a cost of your sanityPride – Being as pride, it does not like other chakra except for its owner, thus it will push aside all other chakra.

Clan History: Long ago, war broke out. Countless lives lost in the blood stained grounds, bodies rotting, souls left unrest. Scarlet flames swirl in wake, devouring anything in its path. Merciless. Unforgiving. It comes after each battle. It’s fate? To cleanse! It’s desire? To give peace to those who have passed on.
In truth the clan was just scattered bits of nomadic people. They have no intension nor relation to what happened to the outside world. They preferred to throw everything not normal to them and live in peace as they travelled from place to place, gaining knowledge on much of the geography of the world, not to mention some well hidden ancient temples, shires and hideouts. They also have wide knowledge over many rumours, myths and legends that held were around at that time.
Among every mystery, one of them stood out the most. The legend of the temple of judgement, Tamashī no handan. Although, none of the seven members founding members of the clan went there as of yet, the legend spread like a virus, unrelenting, ever putting people in a trance state of desire. Everyone thought it was salvation and eternal bliss that will be found inside but the clan founders stayed away, fearful that the corruption will get to them.
Alas, they couldn’t escape the fate that which the temple already predicted. Soon, all of the ten leaders and their families meet at the temple. The famed mystery of the temple of black and white. One side it was rotting with darkness, malice and sin, the other with pureness, clarity and virtue. Stunning it was, but something or someone stood out. A certain elderly caretaker, stood to greet them. Unknowingly, their life had already been changed when they first came to know about the temple.
Time passed and each of the founding members changed, their families were told to wait for them far away, at the nearby river they all meet. Soon a ritual started, the caretaker revealed to be an immortal lady named Shikieiki Yamaxanadu, her job to get people to help her judge the living and send souls to their final resting place. She granted each of them a power they will never forget. Separate souls representing seven colours, their heirs having the colours of their respecting souls and weapons each depicting a vice and a virtue. Their goal was simple; to help people leave behind regrets and finally leave the world in peace.
Shocked by their predicament, each of them went down the path and the only way to move on was forward, but slowly, each member found themselves ever tied to this path. Unable to run away. “The truth is that peace is always within..” Shikieiki said before the seven founding members left the temple and it will forever stay the same as time goes on for eternity.
History: Of course, birth is the one of the most important parts of a humans life. It is the moment when humans first gain freedom. To finally be free of the womb. To be able to experience things for themselves and not be held back inside the mother. But this step is not the first step. The first step comes long before that. Where the beginning of a humans life is can be quite debatable. Is it dictated by fate? Set to occur as soon as the mother and father meet? Or does it occur sometime between, or perhaps one can stay with the most simplistic, yet technically correct answer of as soon as the egg is fertilized. that is the most common way that someone life commences, but is it truly the first step? Perhaps it was when the world first started. A predetermined birth. Something that was going to happen no matter what happened in history. Now I won't go nearly that far, but the first step of this history will not be at this child's birth. It will start a little while before that, in its own little speck of dust in the timeline of the world.
See his mother came from one of the many branches of the Xanadu clan. Specifically the orange one. The one that was entrusted with the virtue of Temperance and the vice of Greed. They were no more special then the other branches, of course, but far more unique than the average person. They were blessed, or perhaps cursed with a different kind of body then what humans had labeled as normal. Their chakra pool being separated from they own body. Something unusual. Not something normal at all. Perhaps it was because they were not normal that they wandered through the lands, Eventually settling down.
This story takes place before Shigeru's branch had settled down. See, his mother was a part of this moving clan. A beautiful young women that showed much promise. She was the most likely choice for the clans hand me downs. Even she knew this. She was the first choice for the new leader. Not only was she beautiful but she was strong and smart as well. One could call her the complete package. Still, she was not normal. None of them were and others could tell.
The moving clan was making its way into Hyougagakure during its voyage across the land. Stopping in the village for shelter and supplies. The harsh and brutal landscape was no cakewalk. They knew this. The village also knew this, so they welcomed the tribe in open arms, or at least thats how they described it. The Xanadu could feel the burn of the villagers glares. They understood the point of view that the villagers held, however. A nomad group such as theirs, coming into the village and taking their food and other supplies. The Xanadu were also low on money, so to bring even more displeasure to the villagers, The Xanadu were also taking jobs from the locals. Not only ninja jobs but other kind of jobs around the village in order to pay for the supplies. They could tell they were unwanted. That they were thought of as weird. Still, too go back out in the cold without the proper supplies. Even the villagers understood that, so they put up with them for a little while longer.
The village heads were far kinder. Inviting some of the clans own higher ups to dine and share stories. It helped the clan see that the people of Hyouga were not a bad people. They only lived in a harsh place. One that required them to work quite hard to survive and this outside and legal intrusion wasn't exactly helping them out for the most part. Understanding this, the Xanadu did their best in picking jobs that would benefit the village. One like procuring food, rather then missions that the villagers were capable of handling themselves. This definitely helped strengthen relationships.
As this all occurred, the women who was to become Shigeru's mother was taking advantage of the stop. Going out and seeing the market and other things. On their trips they got to see many different places, but they had never come across a place with light as brilliant as this one. Even at night, the sky lit up with colours. Almost as if the place was touched by some sort of divine presence. She loved it.
Even though the Xanadu were usually avoided one man made the effort of meeting her. This man didn't care that they weren't the same. That these people were outsiders. All he saw was a person. A beautiful person to be more exact. He made the effort to get to know her. He offered to show her around and she accepted. During the time that the Xanadu toke refuge in Hyougagakure, the two spent more and more time together. Eventually, the man had started being turned away and given strange looks by the villagers, as well. She had noticed. She had even attempted to cut their friendship in order to protect him. Needless to say, it didn't work.
Instead the two ended up having a bond even stronger then before. He didn't care how the village treated him while they were together. His feelings for her were just that strong. They were so strong that even the clan saw this. Although a bit hesitant at first, they eventually gave their blessings. The father of Shigeru's mother, or just Shigeru's grandfather also gave in. Having actually grown a liking to the boy and so the two got married. This helped strengthen ties between the village and the clan. Going so far as to even allow them permanent residence.
Even with such an offer, this branch of the Xanadu clan refused. They enjoyed their time but they wanted to move on. They were hoping that Shigeru's mother and the husband she just recently attained would come with the tribe as well. She was still considered the first and best choice for the next leader of the clan. She refused, though. the elders understood, but before leaving they gifted her with the two items their branch had been entrusted with from long ago. It was kind of like a wedding gift. Something that would impact the future of her own child.
And on the season deemed best by the village of Hyougagakure, the Xanadu clan toke off again. Back on track and ready to continue their journey, leaving a few people back who had grown attached to the great big ice cube. So from that day on, the village looked after the Xanadu who stayed back. Even the villagers eventually threw away their distaste for them. They were allowed to join the family. Being another addition to the surviving village of snow, almost considered a respected clan if it weren't for their lack of actual abilities, and impracticality as ninja. Being unable to use ninjutsu properly and all. But their bodies were definitely in shape, and many had mastery with weapons of all sorts. So they were not useless in the field. Merely impractical. This however didn't stop them from trying to be the best they could be.
Now even though Shigeru's mother was strong and smart, she decided not to become a ninja. His father instead being the source of income, making more then enough to support the both of them. He was a very hard worker and also became a very admired and respected man in the village. He didn't seek any of those things but somehow they had managed to find him and he wasn't one to turn them away. He remained humble about them, though. He would've made a great user of Humility had he been born into the right branch of the clan. It was also because he was not born into the clan that he did not wield the vice and virtue. Whether it was because he himself couldn't do it or because he deemed it wrong because they were not from his clan, Shigeru was never told. Instead, they were treated with great care. They were not just some family heirloom, after all. One could tell with just a glance that this weren't for decoration alone. That these things had seen combat before. Not only that, but they had controlled the flow of combat. Forced opponents to submit before the power they possessed. Feared yet revered at the same time. They were treasures that others didn't dare to take. Even the other Xanadu in the village greatly respected, admired, and were possibly a little bit envious of Shigeru's parents. Receiving gifts and visitors were common for them. It was almost a burden but they knew this was a possibility when they accepted the gifts. It would've been far worse to have turned them down. Can you imagine the face of shock and confusion?
So the two lived a somewhat peaceful and stable life. They enjoyed it. Once in a while they would travel when the seasons would allow but at the same time, the Blizzard country held many wonders and amazing sights just within the village walls. They settled down quite well and eventually came thoughts of having a child. Of course, in every relationship there comes a time when the subject of children comes up, but depending on the ones involved it could take many different turns. Now, it wasn't the first thing Shigeru's father wanted to hear right as he came home but it wasn't a subject he was afraid of or uncertain of. He wanted a child and he was sure of that much. It was when that he was shaky on. The sooner the better of wait and make sure they were best prepared for the challenge of raising a young one? It was something the two of them would have to decide on, and so, after perhaps a week of discussion they had come to an agreement. So eventually a lot of stuff happened and then in order to make this character application suitable for those under 18, the two eventually made a child. This is where Shigeru finally enters his own story. But that does not mean that everything leading up to this point was completely pointless. His birth would've never happened if not for all that and it helped shape his life and set a path for him. All of it, no matter how small or insignificant was a part of his history.
His parents prepared vigorously for his arrival. Shigeru's mom toke great care of herself. She started eating completely healthy, made sure to not get sick and prepare everything for the baby's arrival. His father toke great care of her, started working harder in an attempt to earn a lot more money and made sure they were going to be as ready for a child as someone could be. They did their best to make sure not to do anything that would affect the baby negatively. Had Mozart existed in this universe, they would have forced him to listen to it from inside her stomach. They did most things that inexperienced couples do when their first child is about to arrive.
Of course, the day came as a surprise. They had no real idea of what day it would happen. Just a general idea so when it finally came, Shigeru's father rushed to his mothers side as it came time to push. And again, stuff gets graphic with child birth and if I really wanted to describe it I would need a trash can close by just in case, cause like I just said, really graphic, not so pretty. Not sure doctors can see this shit. But you know, at least someone can do it, cause I bet its pretty damn hard to do and the new mothers probably going to need some help through that. Heck, even old mothers probably need it a little. So, you know, thats how Shigeru was born, and with that, we can move on.
Now Shigeru's first day home was weird at best. See, the ball of chakra that each Xanadu had was large, almost the size of an adult Xanadu. His father was unable to tell, not being from the clan, but his mother saw it as a sign. She could tell that it wasn't some mere coincidence. He was definitely destined to become a ninja, and with that, she decided that he was going to receive Temperance and Greed. They obviously waited a few years first. To give such things to a newborn would be outrageous. No need to explain that, but they did start teaching him at a young age many basic skills of a ninja.
At the age of 6 he was enrolled in Hyougas very own academy. His parents trusted the village. They treated both the Xanadu and their own family very well over the years. The village trusted them so they trusted the village with their child's education. Shigeru wouldn't object. He thought the life of the ninja was cool. The powers and respect they had were awesome. He looked up to them. He wanted to make his parents proud after all. He had no reason not to, and at the ripe of age of six he kind of just did what his parents asked him too.
At the academy he was always looked at a bit weird. He lacked most ninjutsu skills that the others kids seemed to execute quite easily. His lack of chakra in his body was somewhat of a hinderance. He still had yet to learn how to tap into his chakra. He was looked down on by most of the other students when it came to his ninjutsu and genjutsu skill, but when it came to weapons and taijutsu, he was just as good, if not better than the other students. He excelled at what he could and toke pride in it.
His teachers were aware of his predicament and his mother explained why the Xanadu were different. He wanted the ability the other kids had. The ability to use their chakra. In order to make for his lack of power, he trained what he could instead. Learning other skills, like tapping into his chakra in his spare time, and even with the many skills he lacked, the academy allowed him to graduate with the skills he did have. After becoming a genin his Mother found it appropriate to give him Greed and Temperance. It felt almost natural to him. As if the weapons were always with him. He wasn't accustomed to the wait but he was soon to make it feel natural. And with that, he finally became a ninja. Not only that, but here he became something else. His desire for treasure started as soon as his hands touched them. It was the first time he ever laid his hands on something of such value. It was exhilarating. The feeling was just so great.
He was put on a team with another male and a female. Two he recognized but wasn't necessarily friendly with. He figured that this would change in time. His teacher was also a master of the blade. Almost as if it had been planned, and it probably had been. Shigeru wouldn't complain. The more he could learn the better. The Xanadue, after all, were masters of weaponry. They had to be in a world where others could summon the elements and more in combat. The only way to compete was to become the very best at what they could do. So he took many private lessons with his sensei. He learned about teamwork and other people. He formed bonds and also accumulated some money on the way. His power increased in more ways than one. He first noticed how his weapons worked in this stage, still far from mastering either, but it would be an understatement to say they did helped him out of many sticky situations. Even his teammates respected the power of the weapons. And of course, they were S-rank weapons. Not something one usually gets there hands on.
What was around a year passed before their sensei deemed them all fit to participate in the chunin exams. To fight other genin for the right to move up. It was an honor. Shigeru knew he had to make his village, his parents, and his teammates proud. He couldn't show them that all his efforts and theirs hard been a waste. By this time he even figured out how to use ninjutsu. Able to fuse his chakra into his body at will. To strengthen his already powerful skills with ninjutsu. He was a definite threat in the competition, even if the others didn't want to admit that someone with almost no ninjutsu skill was a threat to them.
Shigeru passed the first two rounds. The first requiring minimal effort. Able to beat his opponent with his blade skills alone. It was nearly a flawless victory. His movements were quick for a genin. Being a dunce in ninjutsu had its perks. All his other skills were far better than the others. Not having to spend time on it left him with excess time to train everything else. It was quite the advantage. His second opponent offered quite a challenge, though. They had quite a battle, trading blows over and over till he was able to gain the upper hand, unleashing a skill he had wanted to save for later.
Unfortunately the third round was where he fell. His father had fallen ill. It was not a normal illness, now it was far more serious and he had been ill for quite some time. Shigeru had hoped he would at least witness him becoming a chunin before he passed, but that wasn't the case. His father passed away not long before the third round of the exams. As expected, Shigeru was a mess emotionally. He liked his father. He had protected him when he was young. Helped him feel better when he saw the skills he lacked. Helped him improve. Mae him a better person and taught him self-restraint. He was too devastated to fight. And forfeited the third round.
Even after dropping out, perhaps out of pity, they moved him up, regardless of what happened in the third round. From what happened in the prior rounds they were able to judge that he was still quite a capable ninja. His former classmates held a party for all those who moved up, but Shigeru didn't show up. Instead he stood by his fathers grave and reminisced.
Shigeru had taken his mothers last name, not because of any ill will towards his father, but due to the nature of his body, his chakra pool being separate from his body, and the fact that he also was gifted the sacred weapons. It seemed more appropriate before. Now he thought the decision may had been a mistake. He refrained from changing it however. Eventually he became stronger. He let the memory of his father rest in piece. He had bigger things to worry about. Like becoming a jounin.
After a long winding road he had finally reached the point for graduation from chunin. He had fought many people. Completed what felt like hundreds of missions and made a quick fortune. At one point he had even become an junior Anbu. It was about right after his mother passed away, but not before she gave him hope and helped him keep moving forward. With the Anbu he learned to work in the shadows, but as he got stronger, working from the shadows became less and less viable. He was a bit too flashy for assassinations anymore. Not with the Anbu anymore. But the experience was appreciated. He was well known by then. Not some everyday ninja anymore. He had reached the same heights as his former senpai.
Not long after, he was promoted to up to the final stage. As a jounin the freedom was great, the pay was also great, and the respect, it was all great. Everything he thought it would be. But it wasn't enough. He felt like he needed more. He wanted more. He toke many different kinds of jobs and found many different ways to enjoy himself. Still, he wanted more. Even know, he seeks more.
