Relationships: N/A
Affiliation: Shippuugakure
Rank: Umikage
Element: Suiton, Fuuton, Katon
Specialization: Fuuinjutsu, Ninjutsu, Kenjutsu
Personality: Saizo is very approachable and kind to most. Usually avoiding any sign of hostility. He remains calm in most situations. Usually able to take pressure with no signs of worry. He is a skilled lockpick and pickpocket, having been taught young, but he doesn't usually use them if he has no immediate need to. He isn't very good with children and has terrible luck with games, like slot machines or card games. He doesn't like to be disrespected (who does?) and hates it when someone other then himself is disrespected when it isn't deserved. He also respects the rules of society very closely, sometimes even punishing himself for breaking one, but tends to be more lenient with other people.
He is a very modest person. He doesn't like to make a big deal about his abilities or even the fact that he is a kage. He is quick to congratulate or compliment others. He doesn't like those who believe themselves to be higher then others. Those kind of people are the kind he dislikes with a fiery passion. He just finds people with too much arrogance and pride remind him too much of the past. Thats not to say he doesn't believe a little pride is a good thing to have, but excessive amounts can lead a person to ruin.
Saizo likes animals, though many don't like him, this doesn't stop him from approaching them and petting them but it usually leads to disastrous outcomes. He is a terrible teacher, unable to explain even the simplest of techniques to others, which is why he could never be an academy professor. Although he has tough times teaching he can learn much easier and can do so at decent rates. He tries to go out with others often, enjoying the village harbor because of its sea breeze. The village offers him favorable living conditions and so he loves living there, even if some of the people urk him.
Likes: Saizo enjoys cold beverages, mainly water and also enjoys fishing, or rather the fish after he has caught them. He is very loyal to his village and such appreciates it as his homeland. He likes using ninjutsu a lot, mainly water style. He loves company as being alone is depressing and leads to awkward moments. Being alone is also one of his fears but it isn't a very powerful fear of his. He loves seafood and is able to get an abundance of it due to Shippuugakure being right on the beach, thus he loves being near the sea.
Dislikes: He hates pirates and criminals of all sorts, petty or major crime. This is due to his father and the bad rep he had accumulated. He strongly dislikes high temperatures and can't stand being in the sun for extended periods of time. He has a distaste for electronic equipment, as he has a tough time using them cause he is often wet. He has a deep dislike for his father which use to dominate his goals as the man he wanted to beat and get better than. He isn't very fond of genjutsu believing it to be a cheap trick and not worthy of really learning.
Motivation: He wants his clan to be acknowledged as a major power of Shippuugakure and regain its nobility, breaking the streak of pirate ninjas that the clan is known to create. He wants to keep his comrades out of harms way if possible.
Fears: He fears the possibility that he loses his current ideals and fall into the same category as other criminals and pirates. He also hates small inclosed places, having anxiety attacks when inside them for he can't escape with his hydrification. He also has a fear of being alone but he can usually stand it for short periods of time.
Hozuki Clan Bloodline Name: Hydrification
Bloodline Ability: A kekkei genkai that allows the user to absorb water into the body which then causes the user to liquefy portions or their entire body with enough water, making it impossible to receive damage from physical attacks. From a single hair, to the skin and muscles, everything can be liquefied and solidified at will of the user with enough liquid. Be it to evade an enemy's attack during a short range battle, to infiltrate a structure, or to launch a surprise attack in a liquefied state, this technique boasts a high strategic value. When the user passes out whilst transformed, they turn into a jelly-like state. Since this technique turns the body into water, the Hozuki are extremely vulnerable to Lightning Release techniques.
Location: Shippugakure
Clan History: The Hozuki Clan is a group of ninja pirates that originated from Shippugakure with the ability to turn their bodies into liquefied form using the Hydrification Technique. It is said that they might have been part of a more noble family at one point, but the actions of one rebellious son changed his descendent's fate when he stole a boat and through use of his water jutsu and inherited ability, started his own pirate gang that eventually began working against and occasionally with more notorious pirates. But all still knew the Hozuki name and kekkei genkai and many feared it. This ability however seems to require that they stay hydrated at all times and as such, members are known to carry water bottles around with them. Eventually many of the clan members were either incarcerated with help of the Shippugakure Navy or killed from battles with other pirates or infighting. One of the more renowned Hozuki clan members remaining is, Suitomo Hozuki, pirate Captain of the ship Kurajira Kira.
History: Saizo was born to a loving mother and a pirate father, who was almost never around, so his mother would usually take the responsibility of caring for him. She was a normal women of Shippuugakure, not a ninja , just a merchant, making a decent living on the docks. Saizo grew up at a steady rate like any normal child, till he started showing signs of early Hydrification. His father whenever he was present and didn't have anyone chasing after him, would teach his son the special clans jutsu and an extremely young age so he become quite proficient at it. at the age of 6, Saizo entered the ninja academy already knowing a small amount of jutsu even at such a young age, having been trained by his father whenever possible. His father was quite rough and mean man though, so his relationship with Saizo was a very rocky one. Saizo didn't like his father but he accepted the lessons so he could get stronger. In the academy Saizo was near the top of his class with all his fathers lessons giving him a considerable boost, but at the same time he was also bullied because of him. Others would stare at him funny and talk about him behind his back. He was son of a pirate and born into a very troublesome clan, known to make many infamous ninja pirates. At one time, he even racked up a mischievous streak, where he was stealing and vandalizing the village in protest of the treatment he was getting. He soon realized that he was becoming the very thing they were expecting him to become. He then changed his ways and decided he would remain focused in becoming a ninja.
Saizo decided he would end the cycle of Hozuki Ninja Pirates. He had set his mind to becoming a high ranking ninja of Shippuugakure so people would stop believing that he would become another rouge, going around causing mayhem, like his father. He grew hatred for pirates and their criminal acts. His father stopped visiting him less and less as he grew up as well. His mother still owned the little shop and was making a decent living for the two of them. Saizo soon graduated from the academy and put into a four-man squad like most gennin were he spent his days taking missions with his teammates, creating a reputation for himself in the village. His father would no longer visit the village as he wouldn't risk getting caught to see his family. Saizo hated him for this and told himself that he would be the one to put him away. After a few years of training and improving his skills with his comrades and sensei he had become a very capable ninja. Most of the missions he undertook with his sensei and comrades were chore like missions, not worth noting, but this didn't discourage him, and he continued to train, set on surpassing his father so he could be the one who finally defeats him and brings him in to justice. Through the course of time he had taken on a few high priority missions with his team, which were important to the village and in due time had started accumulating the respect he wanted out of the village, but as time passed his mothers time started running out too. His mother soon passed away of an illness.
This had absolutely destroyed him. He had blocked the world around him for a long time, ignoring his duties as a ninja. This is when he decided he would keep on going. He entered the chunin exam with his comrades, easily passing through the first challenges and entering the tournament stage. He beat his first two opponents with some ease as he entered the next round. After intense fighting and injury on both sides. He decided to forfeit the fight, having seen that he was no longer strong enough to keep going. despite the forfeit he was granted the rank of chunin. Not long after this, he had set out on a journey. He went out to sea. Many thought he was finally becoming a pirate like the rest of his clan. This was not the case however. He was traveling to find his father, and explore new lands.
After a long journey he was unable to find his fathers location, instead he had learned of other villages and cultures and honed new jutsu and skills. He also came across many other things, such as a massacred village and battlefields. He witnessed the despair of others across the land. He had grown not only in body but in mind as well, and after 2 years he returned to the village. Even though he failed in locating his father, he learned much of the world outside of the village. He returned to his old duties after coming back, till one day his father had appeared. He had shown up to mourn the death of his dearly beloved wife. That is when Saizo confronts his dad after not seeing him for several years. After a long talk(which I am too lazy to write) they started their final confrontation. Saizo thrusted his sword at his dad while he blocked with his own sword as they continued to exchange attacks and blocks. They hacked and slashed at each other uselessly as they could bypass the blade by liquifying themselves they both realized this was pointless. Saizo and his father quickly jumped backwards and started launching jutsu at each other instead.
Water and wind jutsu were flying everywhere, they were both at equal power. Saizo was hit head on and flew into a wall but got up and continued the fight. After they both were exhausted and out of chakra, Saizo rushed at his father with a kunai. His father, believing he could bypass the attack started liquifying, but he soon was unable to as his body could no longer move. The kunai had been infused with lightning chakra. Suizo had acquired the kunai for the specific purpose of deactivating his fathers Hydrification jutsu. Being successful in beating his father a small smile found its way to his face and his fathers face as well.
Not long after, he became a jounin due to his intense work and training. During that time he picked up the use of seals, fuuinjutsu. Though, he originally planned it to accompany his other skills as a sort of support, it ended up becoming his main speciality after showing great prowess and talent for it. As a chunin he expanded on it and continued to do so after his promotion. The village was also acknowledging him, no longer as the son of a pirate, but at a talented ninja. He was finally receiving the recognition he had wanted since childhood. At his young age he was the most proficient sealing expert in the village. Greater then even the kages before him had been. His other skills were also quite impressive. Not on the same level, but they were not something to laugh at.
Although there were many other, probably more experienced and wiser choices for the position, when the kage was ready to retire, he had called up Saizo. He believed that the village needed a young leader, someone without prejudice towards any group in the village. Saizo was his first pick. It was obviously a surprise. He wasn't the strongest ninja in the village, not the smartest, and definitely not the most experienced. At first, he tried to talk the kage out of it. He didn't feel ready at the time. So much responsibility on his shoulders. Usually he was calm under pressure, but this was a load to great for even him. To be picked out of the hundreds of more skilled people to lead. He felt like he wouldn't be able to live up to their expectations.
The former kages mind was set. He was not about to choose anyone else for the job. Saizo, reluctantly gave in to the old mans wishes, but only if he was willing to teach him. The former Umikage agreed to teach him for the first few months, and he would always be there if Saizo needed advice. Saizo, no longer cowering down from the immense pressure and responsibility and he pridefully toke up the mantle of Umikage.
The Ninth Opening -Saizo Edition-
Saizo's side of the story was debatable far less interesting, perhaps due to the fact that he truly didn't know what was happening at the time, only having sensed the disturbance in the force so close to his village (It was at a former Umikage's tomb). The power of whatever had just been unleashed was so great that the weather around the islands was far more chaotic than usual, small windstorms turned into vicious cyclones, whirlpools seemed to drag the entirety of the ocean inside, and lightning storms turned into electrifying maelstroms that could very well burned down several villages in a single lightning strike. Something like this was impossible to ignore and as the current Umikage, Saizo had to do something. How did he let something happen in his lands? The very lands he was sworn to protect and care for. But yet right under his nose he allowed something to occur. He didn't know what but he was angry at himself for letting it slip by unnoticed.
Although he was the first to arrive, many others followed soon after. In fact, it was quite shocking how many people showed up. Saizo could only infer that Shippuugakura wasn't the only place suffering from unusual phenomenon. The chakra in the air felt thick. It was rare to feel chakra at all, but for it to be as thick as it was. It was truly terrifying to say the least. Saizo wasn't one of the many to underestimate the beast, in fact, he would have much rather ignored it if it were possible, but the damage it was causing to the entire world wasn't something he could just let slide. The shadow of the beast was huge. Far more massive than the other tailed beasts he'd fought in the past. Saizo was able o sense the gap in power between tails as well. He didn't truly understand how simple tails had ranked the beasts power but now he was truly able to see it. He began to see just how different it was from the other beasts. It also didn't help that its main element seemed to be Raiton. Guess who didn't like Raiton, yup, this guy.
Perhaps what was most terrifying was the numbers of lives it could take with a single attack, a small flick of its wrist could end the lives of many, but its jutsu could end the lives of hundreds. He could see many village leaders underestimate it and attempt to capture it. Saizo was also one of those fools who thought he could restrain it. He didn't care so much of who managed to capture, but that was contained. They could worry about politics later. If Saizo had his way than no one would gain custody of it and that it would be return back into obscurity. Of course, Saizo's way of handling could be viewed as running away from the problem, but he didn't care. He didn't want to see that giant snake ever again.
Who would have guessed that Jake Rubbinuts would be the one to stop the dragon, though. Not only that, but turned out Mr. Rubbinuts was also an emperor. It was a tad shocking, but Saizo was much to tired to be shocked. Soon Saizo was proven wrong. He was shocked. Not about Isais, but about the ninja still alive. They all joined together to fight this common enemy yet as soon as the enemy was gone and taken care of they immediately switched focus back to each other. There was no break or chance to regroup. They simply continued the massacre. This was mind boggling and Saizo was disappointed. Saizo restrained as many shinobi as he still could with his fuuinjutsu and ordered all Shippuu ninja back, but many continued to fight. This was still their land after all. Many probably had no intention of letting them wage a war on Shippuu's front yard. Saizo understood that thinking and didn't feel angry that his orders were ignored, but he did feel that this was the wrong way to go about all this. Saizo wasn't this great leader, he wasn't this almighty commanding voice that could unite these people into stopping and he felt terrible because of it.
Then to make matters even worse, the nine tails came back. Saizo was confused, angry, scared, a whole mix of emotions, but deep within he almost felt happy. As if this is what these bloodthirsty monsters deserved. If they wanted to continue fighting then how about fighting that. It almost seemed like the gods were punishing man for their impudence. Yes, deep inside he was chuckling. At the same time, he couldn't let the beast slaughter anyone. He was still a kage and his people still depended on him. Where there is shadows there is also light and as such, he couldn't let his disgust for one wipe out the other. Instead of giving any rousing speech, Saizo just leapt into the action, because after all, actions speak louder than words. Saizo couldn't remember much after that. When looking back, the last thing he remembered seeing was a bright light. The next thing he knew, he was back home, as if it had all been some sort of twisted dream.
RP Sample: - Spoiler:
He sat down in a rock, leaning on what seemed to be a cactus that just barely survived the explosion of whatever this was. The explosion was quite immense apparently. He was able to lean on this cactus for many reasons. One, he had his hierro, two, it was at a nice angle, and three, he felt like it. He was all alone from what he could see, but he was looking down, not anywhere else. There could have been an army above him and he wouldn't have noticed. His eyes were filled with what humans called, sadness. Arrancars called this weakness, but Siegal was full of this weakness. It made it kind of ironic that a young man full of "weakness" was also one of the strongest among their ranks. So was it really a weakness, or could it actually be an asset? Who knew. It may never be fully understood how emotions truly function. Some say it comes from the heart, but this cant be entirely true, for Arrancars have no heart and even they can show compassion and traits of kindness, though rare. Sure, the human and shinigami scientist surely say it is the brain, but could it be even more complex then that? It could lie in ones own soul, In every molecule that makes up the body, but this was just a hypothesis.
As Siegal sat on the rock, a small kangaroo-like mouse hopped over to him. He just sat there as the animal stared at him, and he stared at the animal. "h-h-Hi.", he had attempted to mutter out as the creature looked at him with those deep black eyes. The creature would sniffle a little before turning around and leaving from the hole it had come from. Siegal stuck his arm out, almost in a grabbing motion towards the mouse, "W-wait, come...back." he tried to say before the critter got away, leaving Siegal by himself. He was all alone again.
That is how it has always been though. Through his human life all the way to joining the Espada, he has, deep down, always been alone. Trust was something he no longer believed to exist, friendship was something told only in fairy tails to him. Something he had never truly experienced before. All he ever experienced was the cruelty and evils of this world. He found this world to be a sick joke. He no longer believed in happy endings, for there was always a loser, to achieve ones goals, someone else must be broken. It sounds depressing and rather emotional, but in a way, this was as true as the sun rising in the morning. You can prevent yourself from seeing it, but that doesn't mean it wont happen.
A tear was starting to form within his deep green eyes. Crying. It wasn't something a soldier should do. So why was he consistently doing so? Was being a soldier that tough for him? Did he truly hate killing others that much? Maybe being an Espada was something he just wasn't cut out to be.
