Village Hidden in the Desert
Leader of Sabakugakure, the Sabakukage
Nahaji Sankuro
Clans
The two main clans found in Sabakugakure are the Sankuro and the Aburame, as the founding clans of the village the higher ranking members in the clan's hierarchy are revered as royalty within the walls. There are several other clans that populate the village to a degree such as the Zeppeki with their strong religious beliefs adding to the culture of the area. The "royal" clans however are the ones responsible for keeping the sandstorm barrier in place and reinforcing it with kikaichu soldiers.

Weather
Weather in the Gust Country isn't for the weak minded. The Country of Desert is always dry, and HOT. Temperatures on average in this area range between 105-115 degrees Fahrenheit during the day, but can get down to about 40 degrees Fahrenheit during the evenings. The reason for the cool nights, is due to the cold fronts and low pressure systems brought south from the Blizzard Country. This also brings slight rain to the area. It is said that once it rains, the desert grows lush during the spring into summer seasons, bringing in much wildlife and allows Sabakugakure to use the vegetation in their markets, as well as exporting and medicinal purposes. Sand storms are very commonplace surrounding Sabakugakure, appearing and disappearing much like miniature hurricanes.
History
Storms of all kinds have always raged in the gust country's deserts, everything from intense sandstorm to slight drizzles once a month to the storms of hatred raging in the hearts of man. This country was originally inhabited by only a handful of clans, two of which were more well known for their power than the rest were, the Sankuro and the Aburame.
These two families were always at war with one another from the first time they encountered though no one alive has any idea what sparked it all, the only fact known is that a blood lust was formed between the two that raged on for generations without halt. The bodies piled high enough to build entire cities if stacked properly but neither side seemed to notice, save one pair composed of a single person from each clan.
Konchū Aburame, heir to the entire clan when his father passes on. This was the man that started the winds of change, he was sent on a mission of assassination to kill the heiress to the opposition's throne, lady Suna Sankuro. He approached her tent but when he caught sight of her he couldn't bring himself to cause any harm to such a beautiful creature no matter what the consequence.
He revealed himself to her and the two fell into a secret romance, they were forced to hide their love for each other at all cost because both of their clans would kill them without a second thought if they were found sympathetic of the enemy side. So they loved from the shadows for months before a series of unfortunate circumstances got them both found out.
Suna was held under house arrest and was not allowed to see the light of day again, Konchū however was severly beaten to the brink of death before having one of his own medical class kikaichu sting the inside of his throat to put himself in a coma he would never be able to awaken from. His father shed tears over the loss of his son and traveled to the Sankuro lands with Konchū resting in a casket procession of peace behind him.
Suna's father had his hands full with a different kind of problem, his daughter was in the middle of giving birth as the Aburame procession reached the gates to the Sankuro compound and the leader of the insect users was rushed to the delivery room to meet his grandchild but once again tragedy struck these people. Suna had lost most of her physical constitution from her time kept indoors and died during child birth.
The clans called a truce on the day of the child's birth and traveled to a large flat area with a layer of sand stone only a few feet below the sands to construct a village with their own hands. When time for a leader came about the Aburame man stepped down for the safety of his people while Sankuro took the throne.
It was after the buildings and communities were constructed that the clans looked to set up some defensive procedures for their home. The Sankuro used their powers to lift the sands into the sky and surround the entire village in a seemingly natural eternal sandstorm that could be opened and closed at their will. However, in order to maintain fairness the Aburame added thousands of the finest kikaichu colonies into the storm with passage in and out through tunnels carved out of the sandstone beneath the village just large enough for the insects to squeeze through.
This defense worked and over the years other clans such as the Zeppeki joined into the alliance and the love child that brought everyone together grew into a fully adult man. His grandfathers named him Saisei meaning rebirth and they cherished the boy equally as their own to try and fill the hole left in their hearts.
One day while researching the village history to complete his mission with ease Saisei came across a text that was thought to be long lost; "Scarabs and Sand: The War of the Clans". By reading through this text Saisei learned of the evil doings his grandfathers had committed against each others clans in order to advance their own personal agendas without even considering the well being of their own people. Then he came to the entry about what happened to end the clan arms race when his parents were found out and murdered.
He was furious, he arranged a coup d'état with several other members from each clan and overthrew his Sankuro grandfather and his Aburame grandfather. With both of them rotting in the desert he claimed the seat of second Sabakukage and grew bitter in every aspect of his life. This new attitude transferred into village policy and was the founding of the interrogation corps. His rein is still referred to as a tyranny that citizens wished they could have avoided but he died of old age and passed on the seat of kage to his children that retained his harsh outlook on life.
The village still has harsh policies high on the brutal scale from those years and the sewers are the most constant reminder, they were created by the third Sabakukage and was looked at as a violation of clan territory since it invaded the Aburame clan's kikaichu tunnels, though there was still space for them to enter and exit through it was a type of holy ground to the insects so tensions grew between the clans that has still not completely settled.
The village now rests in constant tension under the reign of the seventh Sabakukage Nahaji Sankuro however things for the first time since this began has a chance of changing.
