Village News
The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

Catch a thief? Well now, that is more my style. Spira was determined to make his current mission an outstanding success. He felt his previous mission didn't go too well, but at least this time he wasn't dealing with a cat that was an expert escape artist. Spira knew could bring the thief alive or dead, however, he would prefer it if he could keep the bloodshed to a bare minimum. He would bring the thief back alive, not because it would boost his reward, but because he would prove to that he could keep the promise he'd made to himself so long ago.

As Spira made his way to the Glade, he found that someone had beaten him there, and was carrying a suspicious object. He thought to himself for a moment or two, deciding the best course of action, and the best way to approach this mysterious person. Spira decided he would talk to them, and try to subtly get them to hand the sword over, or at least trick the person into thinking he wasn't after them.

Spira approached the person, not in a nervous manner, but confidently as if prepared for the worst. Hello, are you lost, sir? Spira asked abruptly, as if trying to break the persons train of thought. As the person turned, they were putting together a string of hand-seals, then launched a fireball at him. Spira, as if on instinct, jumped to his left in a flip. Hold on, I'm not after you! He would try to persuade the thief into handing over the sword, but to no avail. Every time Spira said he wasn't after the sword or the thief, he was simply called a liar, and had another fireball launched at him.

Damn... This isn't good. If he keeps this up, this jungle will be nothing more than a pile of ash. Spira thought to himself, trying to find the best way to go about detaining the thief without killing him. Spira, in between the blasts of fire, inched his way to the thief, closer and closer to the point where he could almost touch the hands of the thief as they made one hand-seal after another.

Before the thief could make the last hand-seal, Spira placed his right hand on the opponents as they nearly completed their next fire style ninjutsu. Please, stop before it's too late. If you keep attacking me like this, there may not be any way around it, I may very well have to bring you down. Spira wore a serious look upon his face whilst say this, hoping that it wouldn't come to any more violence.

In your dreams, kid. I've got no intention of being beaten by a brat like you! The thief shouted as he swatted Spira's hand away, and proceeded to string together more hand-seals. Spira backed away, unable to speak any further as he saw no point. He activated his Bone Claw jutsu, and prepared for a fight. The thief used a jutsu called "Phoenix Flower", which launched several small fireballs at Spira.

Spira ran to one side, then jumped to the other, avoiding taking hits so that he could complete his mission. He dashed, dodged and evaded, flipping and spinning in the air. His movements were so coordinated that they were almost like that of his sisters, in a sense. The thief continued to unleash fire jutsu after fire jutsu, trying to keep Spira at bay, however as the thief had failed to see, Spira was falling right above him. As Spira made his landing, he also made a downward strike, cutting the thief's fingers and hands on the sharp edges of the bone gauntlets. However, once firmly on the ground, Spira jumped back. Face it, you've lost. You're skilled, I'll give you that, but I'm on a whole other level. As Spira said this, the thief made an accurate deduction, asking Spira if he was one of a Kaguya clan member.

Spira nodded, confirming the thief's suspicions. Spira had hoped for a nonviolent solution to this conflict, but was wondering if this may very well be what he was after, and took a couple steps forward. The thief, however, would threaten to break the sword if Spira were to move any further, so he stopped. Spira pondered his situation, trying to think of every possible ending he could, some good, some bed, and some where the thief gets away. The more Spira though, the more focused he became on the thief, watching his every movement.

As the thief turned, and began to walk away from Spira, he seemed to have dropped his guard, leaving Spira open to attack him at any moment. Spira took a flying leap into the air, roughly at an appropriate angle to tackle the thief and get the sword away from him. The thief turned to find Spira in the air, and descending quickly upon him. He lifted the sword, fully intent on breaking it, saying something that Spira couldn't hear as he roared, switching to his Dead Blade jutsu, and piercing the thief's skull with the attack, killing him instantly, and pushing him to the ground.

The sword fell, clattering to the ground as blood burst from the dead man's face, spraying everywhere, and even onto Spira, the one who had miscalculated his attack by an entire 13 inches. Spira had then canceled out his jutsu, leaving his middle finger still touching the opened forehead of the thief as he lay dead on the ground. Spira eventually stood up, and retrieved the now blood soaked sword. As he picked it up, he saw that it had taken no damage from the fall, but at the same time the blood that had splattered onto it hid any scratches.

As Spira began to make his way back to Jojo, his sister who happened to be the kage of the village, he thought he heard the thief's voice say something to him. He turned to find the thief still dead on the ground, but he knew that this day would haunt him for the rest of his life. Damn it... This sucks.
