Plundering Pirates(A-rank Mission)[Kakusa/Semasu]

Kakusa headed for the village gate, his later destination would be the source of all trade in the village of Tsukigakure: Port Caerula. The jounin walked to the gates with his usual grin and told the shinobi guarding the gate that he was being dispatched for a mission. The shinobi noted down the information and he was given permission to leave. Now he was ready to go but he was still curious about the person who was going to tag along with, though he wasn’t told to wait for this mysterious shinobi at the gates. Now he had to decide whether he would wait at the gate or head towards the port and let the other shinobi find him instead.

He waited for a little while but then started to head outside the village. He wasn’t the kind to wait around, if someone was supposed to tag along then they’ll just have to find him instead. He headed for the port moving as fast as he could. It took some time but he finally arrived at the port, a place that most would call quite beautiful. Kakusa just saw it as a place where people conveniently hid their true self, the barbarism inside them was more settled in, here. After entering the port he headed for the harbor, the data that was provided to him was that a pirate ship was docked there so instead of finding the pirates; find the ship and he’ll find the pirates.

The grinning and cold individual walked around the harbor for some time, finally happening upon a black flag with skulls on it; ”There you are..”. It was sad really, pirates were among those people, who in Kakusa’s opinion were true to their true selves. They didn’t hide their true barbaric and greedy nature, instead they allowed these feelings to drive them and control their every action. Sadly for them, they had just happened upon his village and now he was told to annihilate these fiends. Though if there was some sort of benefit in leaving these guys alive he would have done that but these guys weren’t useful in his opinion. He walked close to the ship and looked around, it seemed that there were still people on it but not all of the pirates were there.

”So … twelve opponents.. this is going to be one troublesome mission” he thought as he looked around to make sure that by now he was unnoticed. He was wearing a cloak around himself to hide the fact that he was a shinobi of Tsukigakure. His attire was hidden underneath and his face was hidden by a cloak that he was wearing, only his face was visible. He had decided to stay in stealth mode until he had a grasp on the situation and until reinforcements arrived, he was in no hurry to initiate the enemy.

Pirates huh... Semasu said aloud as she sat on the roof of the Oujakage's office; this wasn't her normal mission. Usually, she only took singular assassination missions of high-value targets... but this time, she had decided to take care of the pirate problem in Port Caerula. They had been an issue for some time and Semasu had waited to see if anyone else would step up and take the mission- so far, no one had. Semasu decided to take the mission herself before the Oujakage decided to push the mission onto some poor shinobi who wasn't prepared to fight a small well-trained force of pirates.

Semasu sat casually on the roof with her feet propped against the tiles for support so she didn't slide off and fall, while she laid backwards and held the mission notes above her head to read them again to block out the sun directly over head. She pondered over the notes, eleven Chuunin with a Jounin leader... likely all water users, and maybe a lightning user or two; but she could be wrong about that.

Regardless, they were pirates... and pirates loved onto two things- their ship & their treasure; take either two of those things and the pirates are easy to take down. Still, Semasu's mission said she would be working with another shinobi- of course she had gotten that information already from the Oujakage himself. An Onmyoton Jounin, an interesting choice, Semasu knew a young Onmyoton Chuunin herself, but had not seen the girl around lately.

Semasu reached into a bag at her waist and pulled out a round glazed donut and lightly pressed it to her lips and tasted it as she contemplated a plan for dealing with the large number of pirates. She could always blast her way through them, but then she would be in the midst of them; which is where her ally would come in handy. She stood up suddenly, her donut hanging from her lips as she stuffed the mission notes into a pocket and drew her sword. Her ally, Kakusa- had already left the village a bit ago and was probably at the Port by now.

She gripped her favorite sword in her hand and breathed easily, she could feel the desire of the sword's to travel- it responded to her own desire to be at the Port near Kakusa. She gave one swift skilled swing of the blade and a red rifts appeared from where her blade sliced through the fabric of space itself. The red slice in the air sucked Semasu in suddenly, giving her body a warped and stretched appearance, then disappeared all-together.

Semasu reappeared, close to Kakusa on the docks; her body appeared through the a rift in the air and she landed light on her feet. She inspected Kakusa for a moment, never before having seen him and now wearing a cloak; she couldn't be sure it really was him... but he was the only one around and her sword never lied.Kakusa of the Onmyoton clan I take it... I am Semasu, your partner for this mission. It was a risk to tell him she knew of him, in case he thought she was an assassin or something... but she figured he was a smart enough man to figure out she wasn't an enemy if she decided to appear before him instead of behind him.

The port was full of people of walking around, some traders selling their goods and some buying those goods. Some returning merchants finally finished with their long journey, some merchants who came a long way to sell their goods; hence covering only half the distance. In that harbor Kakusa stood beside the pirate ship that was meant to be his target; well not just his target, his and his unidentified ally. He had gotten their before his ally so he had no clue as to who it was that was meant to tag along with him. He thought it best to examine the surroundings, the opponents and devise a plan in which he could take down the opposition swiftly and efficiently.

After analyzing the environment, the people walking around, the ship and the pirates that were most likely on it; he was now working on his plan. ”Fighting on the ship would most likely be to their advantage, so it would be best to lure them out. Once out, dividing them would be an even better strategy, taking them down one by one should be a lot more convenient. Now.. how to…” his thoughts were left half way as he noticed a rift in the air, ”what’s this?” then a female shinobi appeared from that rift. Kakusa was caught off guard when she referred to him by his name and not just that, this person also knew which clan he was from; so it was hardly unlikely that she was a spy.

His characteristic grin was hidden by the cloak he wore on his face but it was still there, it was a habit by now; he nodded in reply. Not a man to indulge in conversations and neither a person who had any interest in others, normally he wouldn’t say anything but, she wasn’t someone ordinary; no. She had appeared from out of nowhere, something he had never seen before. Was it some sort of jutsu that altered space? ”Interesting.. very …. Interesting” he thought to himself as he stared at his ally. He wanted to gather information about this, how did she do it? what actually did she do? The thought of an unknown phenomenon was inspiring, motivating and in some twisted way; arousing.

”You know my name and my clan.. I am unaware of yours” of course if he wanted to know about this ability, he would have to be social with her. In order to gain knowledge, he would go to almost any lengths, right now; the mission wasn’t that important as was this revelation of this phenomenon. There was knowledge to be attained here and he wasn’t one to turn away from such an opportunity. May be conversing wasn’t his intention but it wouldn’t prove that useless, by staying here and doing nothing he would have a bit more idea of what was happening on the ship; if they were some unorganized bunch of power hungry brutes, that fact wouldn’t remain hidden for so long. According to the data, there were 11 chunin or special jounin level pirates and one jounin leader; so gaining more information about them before taking them on would obviously be the better strategy. He was never one to rush into battle, his way was to take down the opponent as efficiently as possible and effortlessly; why strain yourself if you can take them down with ease?

Sorry for the late reply Kakusa! I had a busy weekend & relaxed most of yesterday

She watched his reaction, he hadn't really given any indications of surprise or aggression... from his stance anyways. His face was hidden and he kept up good body posture despite her sudden and bizarre appearance. Wearing concealing clothes was not her style, nor did it complement her well-gifted body and curves. Kakusa was wearing a cloak and hiding his face, which was way more suspicious than wearing normal clothing and being incognito, though it was impossible for Semasu to blend into a crowd, her body always drew too much attention.

She was a Rankujo after all, female clan members of the Bakuton element who possessed "perfect" bodies, as close as possible to the gods themselves- ranging from amply sized bust, curves and a night skin tone. Tehy they also possessed unusually durable skin- because by the very nature of their element, they had to toughen up to withstand their own explosions when fighting. Semasu flicked her sword and sheathed the blade back on her right shoulder and waved at Kakusa, I guess you're right. I am Semasu of the Rankujo clan, I am a Spc Jounin

Semasu paused for a moment and let the information sink into Kakusa's mind... perhaps he had already formulated a plan... but adding a volatile element into the plan was sure to cause erroneous developments. Semasu hardly ever planned ahead; except when baking donuts for the whole day. Going a whole day without donuts was a killer. Other than that, Semasu always planned on the go, on a whim even and she usually succeeded over arduous planning. When you plan out a long plan, you leave room for more errors instead of improvising. So... How should we go about doing this mission? Normally, I would create a small diversion and then explode into action. But you are a user of Genjutsu,, at least your clan is.. Any suggestions?

She wasn't inclined to make a big plan, but a small quick one was to her liking; she hoped Kakusa wasn't a complicated person.

Kakusa couldn’t help but notice this lady’s body, it was indeed attractive to any normal person, but he wasn’t exactly a normal person. Having a harsh relation with his father and belonging to a clan whose existence is blurry; he developed quite a bit of a twisted personality, the only female he had little affection for was the one he had to kill by his own hands. After that his permanent grin set in and his feelings disappeared, so now even when confronted with a lady who had a god like figure; he was barely phased.

Now the mystery was finally revealed, this shinobi was meant to be a partner of his; so the comrade in arms for this mission was one from a rankujo clan. ”Rankujo clan… way to go Oujoukage, so much for being secretive”. His initial plan was intended to keep things silent and efficient but after finding out that his partner had a potency to explode everything she confronted; it was impossible to keep things quiet. His gaze followed her movements as she sheathed her sword, it was an interesting weapon indeed but then he returned to looking at her face. ”Ah yes, the plan” he said and then paused for a moment, thinking about the choices he had now.

”A member of the rankujo clan, you do make for an interesting sacrificial piece but if I lose you, I won’t be able to find out about this sword; what a problem you’ve presented me with. I guess I just have to trust that you’ll be able to hold your own, you should be fine seeing that you’re a Spec jounin” finishing up his train of thoughts he continued: ”Then let’s do it your way, you provide the diversion and keep them occupied”. ”Yes, if you do that; I can set up traps and finish those who survive your explosions”, he didn’t voice this thought of his though; it didn’t seem to be a necessary piece of information to be conveyed. Being not too big on conversing, he only conveyed information that was deemed necessary in his own opinion.

”Now, as for a diversion….” he looked at her and then looked at the ship that was right next to them, ”Take down this ship right after I’m gone and keep them busy for as long as you can”. That was the only thing he needed for her to do, the rest he would do by himself. Of course he wasn’t one to depend on others so he wasn’t really relying her to do everything, his plan mainly consisted of him setting up traps and trapping the pirates in his genjutsu. It would take some time to set up traps but once he was done, it would be easy pickings; though if the plan didn’t work and she somehow failed then he would turn to plan B. That was the original plan, stay out of sight; set up traps and take them out one by one. After conveying the information Kakusa moved and began to distance himself from her so that once she launched her attack; he would be at a safe distance and wouldn’t need to be involved.

Take down a pirate ship? Easy enough... Sounds like a simple plan. Leave it to me. It was the easy part, whether he thought of her as a brute or not, she didn't care; if he underestimated her, that would be his problem in the future. This will have been the second Onmyoton clan member that she had done missions with, she was eager to see the difference in the clan member's styles of fighting.

She nodded her agreement to his plan and watched as he disappeared. Once gone from her site, she turned around to face the pirate ship again; she broadened her stance and cracked her knuckles. A pirate sentry aboard the ship walked past and looked down, his eyes lingered over Semasu's body but then got a curious expression as she stepped back a couple steps and suddenly lunged forwards, slamming both of her fists down into the dock boards.

An explosion erupted from her fists, a wave of violent fury raced forwards, destroying the dock and slamming into the side of the boat. The explosion ripped apart the side of the boat and began to make it sink; bodies of two younger pirates floated facedown in the water nearby, fires burned on different parts of the ship and several pirates staggered about, confused and traumatized by the surprise and sudden explosion. The one pirate sentry who had witness it, was dead, a charred pile of meat floating on the other side of the ship. Semasu drew her sword from its sheathe and stood on the dock, taunting the pirates to attack her if they dared.

Now at a safe distance Kakusa watched as his team mate took a stance, so she was going to do it. He didn’t have much time to waste then, if she was going to do her part there was no way he would be left behind. As the explosion echoed and echoed in the entire port, Kakusa had by then removed his cloak and begun moving. The sound of the explosion was confirmation that the diversion was successful, of course those pirates would now aim for the one who had abruptly and boldly sunk their ship; that was the time he needed to use as an advantage. While she had their attention he would set in his triggers for different genjutsu as stealthily as he could. He maintained his distance and remained in the shadows, hiding behind walls or shops; still moving.

He moved and hid behind a shop that was right next to a path that led to the harbor, some pirates would most likely take this path and rush ahead to take care of the intruder so this would be the best spot to set up a trigger. The shop that he was hiding next to had some portions of it made by bamboo, guess the shop owner wasn’t big on money and used what he could. Kakusa ripped off a few sticks of bamboo and spread them on that path, that would be his trigger. If anyone walked on to the sticks and the stick broke making their distinctive sound the genjutsu would active, he didn’t need to use a genjutsu that would kill or harm the enemy harshly. Considering his team mate all he needed to do was hold down the enemy so that she could do the damage.

The genjutsu that would be launched was one that invoked paralysis, considering the strength of the foes; it would be a bit tough for them to get out of and if some of them were skilled, by any chance in genjtsu, then he would know and could counter that opponent differently. So he didn’t feel the need to materialize the genjutsu; for now illusions will have to do. That way he could conserve his chakra better and use more jutsu that way; hence being more efficient. After that he moved forward instead of staying there and waiting to see what would happen. It didn’t matter if the opponent did get caught by the genjtsu or not, if the opponent got past it he would still maintain a close distance to make sure he was able to do something about it.

He moved to the other side of the street maintaining his stealth as best as he could, sprinting and hiding behind walls of shops or behind barrels to stay out of sight. Right now, if the opponent thought that they were up against one opponent and more of them were taken down mysteriously that would give them a psychological edge over the opponent. The more advantages these two had the better so this was his plan for now. He moved ahead, moving in a circular direction around Semasu; now heading forward to set up another trigger for another illusionary genjutsu.

The initial plan had been successful, the ship was sinking rapidly and already three pirates floated dead face down in the port. It was as much as she expected from her attack, sudden and brutal. The rest of the battle was up to awareness and skill; luck had nothing to do with it. Awareness was what won battles and skill just made the difference between victory and defeat.

Semasu's blood began to rush, her clan's stigma of battle-lust was beginning to show. She stood in a low defensive stance as she watched the pirates begin to get organized and start to spread out- despite not knowing Kakusa personally, as a fellow shinobi of the Hidden Moon, she trusted him. She focused her attention to the pirates foolish or brave enough to rush her head on and paid little attention to the ones circling around. Awareness was important, but so was trust. A young pirate leapt onto the broken burning port docks and rushed her with a cutlass posed at her chest; his water-logged clothes slowed him down and Semasu easily stepped inside his reach and gave him a "one-two" punch to the chest and then stepped backwards as she pivoted her foot and brought her opposite foot up in a spin and kicked him across the side of his head.

A solid snap was audible and she knew his neck was broken as his body flew sideways and rumpled into a pile on the docks and slid into the water. She was beginning to set into an easy pace of killing and letting her bloodlust control how brutal her strikes were. Suddenly the air began to get moist and Semasu's body reacted as she realized what was about to happen; she leapt sideways just as a large torrent of water crashed into the planks where she had just been standing.

The form of a large water dragon had crashed into the port and had barely missed her; she shielded her face from the flying water as she scanned the immediate area and followed the trail of water to the pirate responsible. He stood out on the water facing towards the port, a large water dragon beginning to reform behind him. So... the Jounin level pirate finally shows himself. She said quietly to herself, then she grinned as the pirate readied a second strike. Hey! I thought the Cap'n was supposed to go down with his ship!

Being reminded of his ship, sent the pirate into a brash attack. He directed his water dragon straight at her, not caring if his crew was in the way or not. The attack was very straight and very true in its aim; Semasu grabbed the hilt of her sword and waited till the very last second and swung her blade. A gash in the air appeared behind her and behind the captain- both were sucked in and exchanged places. Now Semasu stood on the water's surface calmly as she watched the captain and two of his crew get hit by the full force of the water dragon jutsu. She sheathed her sword and rushed back towards the port where the captain lay baffled on the ground; she stepped on his neck and stomped, breaking his neck and using his cutlass to stab the two remaining pirates staggering to their feet.

One, two, three, four, five, six... six dead for sure by her own doing. The Jounin leader and at least 5 Chuunin or Spc Jounin; an impressive feat for such a brash and reckless assault; she looked around to see how her mission-partner was doing. Half of them are down, Kakusa! She called out almost gleefully as she inspected the surroundings for any ambushes.

As Semasu eliminated every pirate that came at her Kakusa continued to lay traps for those who were thinking of setting up an ambush. After setting his first trap he moved on to place right behind her and intended to place another trigger there but his plan was foiled as two pirates appeared from right behind him. Sad, his stealth was going pretty nicely; they must’ve happened upon him by chance. ”Darn, I miscalculated. Oh well, this’ll reduce their numbers even further”. One look and the pirates understood this was a foe because he had removed his cloak and was now wearing the distinctive attire of a shinobi of Tsukigakure. Enraged, outraged and agitated the three chunin level pirates decided to attack, two of them rushed forward while one of them began waving hand signs preparing for a jutsu.

”Yare yare.. aren’t you guys..in a hurry to die” said Kakusa, his words weren’t only meant as a taunt but they were a trigger. All three of them heard his voice and were thus caught in his illusion, their aggressive shouts turned into screams as they saw a giant ogre, swinging a mace right at them. It was indeed horrifying for the chunin and provided Kakusa with just enough time to take them all out. In the illusion they were trying to dodge the gigantic mace while still trying to grasp what they had suddenly come across while in reality they were standing still; so Kakusa walked to the nearest chunin, grabbed the kunai that the chunin was holding and pierced both him and the other chunin that had rushed towards him. As he did this the third snapped out of his genjutsu but just then Kakusa threw the kunai aimed right at the center of his head; as the chunin had just snapped out of the genjutsu he couldn’t perceive the kunai until after it hit his head. The streets were stained with blood and Kakusa had claimed his first three kills; by then Semasu was engaging the leader of the group.

Something was off though, the third one; wasn’t he waving hand signs? Realizing that Kakusa looked at his foe that he thought he had killed. The place where the third victim should be was now all wet, so it meant he had made a water clone and had avoided the blow Kakusa had attempted. The third member of this attack party wasn’t a chunin actually, he was another special jounin. The pirate had already moved right behind Kakusa and just when he realized that his target wasn’t dead; the pirate launched a taijutsu attack at Kakusa; hitting his back as he turned as a reflex which resulted in a kick hitting his stomach, Kakusa took the full damage and was pushed a few feet away. He was caught off guard, another calculative mistake. Well, he wasn’t one to make that many mistakes; the special jounin thinking that he was at a certain advantage launched another attack at Kakusa but then stopped after taking only a few steps; he was already caught in Kakusa’s genjutsu which he had cast right after the second kick hit his abdomen. The special jounin felt thousands of little feet crawling over his body and when he tried to attack Kakusa again in the illusion, he found that Kakusa’s body was made up of ants right after that he felt ants moving out of his own mouth, nose and ears. The pirate fell to his knees, helpless and trembling out of disgust and fear, Kakusa walked towards him took out the sword that the pirate had on him and then inserted the sword right in his mouth; piercing through to the insides of his body: killing the third pirate this time for sure.

After that Kakusa heard his team mates voice, she had impressively taken down half of the enemy; so that meant only three remained since he had taken down three of them himself. Now the enemy no longer had the numbers advantage so coming out of hiding wouldn’t be a bad idea, he stepped outside of the shadows and appeared in the middle of the street; heading right where Semasu was a moment ago and now the leader of the pirates lay dead. ”Three more down” he said as he placed his hands in his pockets and grinned carelessly, the calculated cold individual wanted to provoke the enemy by doing so. Of course seeing the ones who took down their team mates and their leader so relaxed would agitate the enemy and thus force them into making a mistake; that was what Kakusa was counting on.

The naïve pirates fell for it and came running after Kakusa right after he said that three more had been killed, one of the came from where he had set the trigger so Kakusa didn’t even look at him; the other two came from another side and Kakusa turned to face them. One chunin set off the trigger and was caught in a paralyzing genjutsu; the other two got close just when that happened, Kakusa made a few hand signs as a result of which three clones emerged and ran straight for those last two. The clones ganged up on the pirates and launched a series of taijutsu attacks which the pirates defended successfully but right after that; all three clones used a jutsu which resulted in a total of 90 shuriken headed straight for them. The attack was from three sides and the sheer number of the projectiles was overwhelming, the clones exploded in a harmless light explosion after the light disappeared the last two enemies were now lying on the ground; killed by the projectiles. The only alive pirate was the one still caught in Kakusa’s trap.

”That settles that then” he said as he walked towards the two dead and picked up a shuriken from one of the dead body. Aiming for the trapped chunin Kakusa threw the shuriken; being caught in the illusion the chunin was hit directly by the shuriken; blood gushed out of his body and he fell to the ground lifeless. Kakusa turned to look at his team mate who had done quite an impressive task; which he wasn’t really expecting. It was sad though, he wanted to see her use her sword but he was so caught up with the opponents he couldn’t see her fight.

She hadn't reacted at all as Kakusa approached casually, she couldn't be for sure that it was really him- because he was no longer wearing the cloak. Could be a enemy pretending to be her ally. She watched him with interest just to make sure he didn't try anything weird; though she worried for not. His pose was just to lure out the last three pirates and slew them in quick order.

Good job Kakusa. All of the pirates are dead and their ship is sunk... now, let's get out of here before someone complains about the damage to the port.. She nearly let out a chuckle, thinking about the fisherman who wouldn't be happy to have part of their port blown up, or the ship wreckage in their waters. The ANBU would b there later with medical shinobi to collect the corpses for the village.

If you want, I can get you back to the Oujakage's office in the blink of an eye.. or you can take the long way back. She pulled her sword from her sheathe and waited for an answer, surely he was curious how she had gotten there so quickly.

The battle was now ended ; Kakusa carelessly strolled towards Semasu with his hands in his pockets. So someone would later come to take care of the mess they had created, well that was pretty convenient for them. Getting away from the place was a good idea, otherwise he would have to listen to the merchants and fisherman complain about them causing damages to the place; not that he had cost any of it: that’s what you get when you have a rankujo for a team mate. When offered to be teleported along with her, his eyes lit up as bright as the sun itself. ”So I get to verify my initial hypothesis about this sword’s abilities myself? That’s just too good to be true but if she really is offering me that, then this is just perfect.. perfect indeed.”

The grinning individual replied: ”I’d prefer getting to the Oujoukage’s office rather quickly since we have no more business left here”. Now all that was left to do was for Semasu to teleport them there; was she really capable of using space-time ninjutsu? Or was it this sword’s ability? Were there any other swords out there like this one? The possibilities just began to multiply in his head but he contained his questions; first he wanted to experience the abilities of the sword before asking his questions. Maybe she wouldn’t mind answering his questions; besides it was only harmless curiosity.. or was it?

Kakusa had already accomplished what he came here to do in this mission and he would soon gain the rewards of that but now; this new target was right in front of him. She didn't have to wait long, no longer with his cloak covering his face- she could see that Kakusa was very intrigued with her interesting ability to teleport. She nodded slightly at his response, unsurprised. Of course, we should report back to the Oujakage right away. She had been standing a bit away from him with her hand on her hip and her sword idle pointing down.

She could feel the sword's desire to travel, the sword was sentient and had chosen Semasu as its owner. It was a legendary sword made from a blacksmith who had used taboo jutsu when crafting the sword. Now with Kakusa's agreement to fast-travel, they were ready to travel a good distance in the blink of an eye. Good, now that we're ready; I should warn you that for the first few times travelling like this- you will likely be disoriented. Last time Semasu had used this on someone, they girl had been so disoriented that Semasu had to support her with her weight. Looking at Kakusa, Semasu didn't really want to support his weight if that was the case... but she figured he was level-headed enough to gain his composure very quickly.

She walked up to Kakusa suddenly and placed her hand on his shoulder and slashed her sword out to her side. A rift opened up in the air and sucked both of them in like a vacuum; a rift opened up in the Oujakage's office and both of them appeared from the rift standing in front of Eden's desk. Aaaand here we are! She sheathed her word and bowed softly to the Oujakage.
