The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

Subject: Catch The Thief(C-Rank Mission)[Kakusa/Merasu] Wed Oct 08, 2014 9:53 am
Kakusa Makoto ;;Jounin ;; Tsukigakure ;; Male
He had heard rumors, stories that there was a certain genin who was now the jinchuriki of the hachibi. However, who was that jinchuriki? He hadn’t yet met him, little did he know that the shinbi who had boldly asked to tag along was that mysterious genin. He didn’t say a word to the boy nor did he tell him not to join, if he intended to ‘cure’ his boredom; that wasn’t Kakusa’s concern. After attaining the required information about the mission he looked at the genin and then walked a few steps towards the door of the office, stopping after opening the door a little: ”The village gate, I will be waiting for you there” he said as he left the office. Before departing on a mission everyone takes a few things that may prove useful, for Kakusa he believed that at the moment all he needed was his skill.
Departing from the Oujoukage building, he started to make his way for the gates; instead of walking this time he rushed jumping from roof top to roof top, cutting in short cuts and moving fast, maintain a steady speed of 10km/hr; it didn’t take him long to arrive at his destination. Now all he needed was to wait for his team mate before departing. Till the youngster arrived he started to organize the data he had been provided. From the description the item wasn’t apparently of value but because of the age twas of priceless value to a faction: so it wouldn’t be wrong to assume that the object because of its age is fragile. The second thing was that he wasn’t exactly a tracking or sensory type ninja so unless this team mate had such skill they would have to resort to guesses and simple tracking. If a thief had obtained such a thing then the best thing for the thief would be to get out of harm’s way, thus it wouldn’t be wrong to assume that the thief would head for a place that can help him disappear. So it only made more sense why the thief was heading north, according to the data provided, there was a snowy peak in the north with caves and taverns; so if the thief got there before these guys it wouldn’t be hard for the thief to get away. Based on this, there only option was to stop the thief before he got to those mining caves.
Instead of working in a team, it would be better if the two divided; Kakusa would go ahead and try to reach the peak before the thief does while the genin makes way to the peak. Hence if everything went accordingly, the thief would eventually find himself caught with no way to move ahead or any way to go back. If Kakusa was able to get ahead of the thief and set up some traps it would also make it a lot easier for the pair to retrieve the item without damaging it. So the strategy that he devised relied on his speed and a bit of the genin’s resolve, of course the thief wouldn’t be someone of no skills; if the thief decided to stay back and take on the genin while Kakusa was heading forward. That could be very troublesome to deal with.

A rather hasty move by the Kage. A impish smile had quickly come into existence on Merasu's lips, the estranged feeling of freedom nipping at his heartstrings and encouraging a devious amount of rebellion in him. This was his chance, he could rid himself of his pent up frustrations on this mission.
I'll... slaughter the enemy. Toss them to whatever hell they believe.
Paying no heed to the man that he had just volunteered to join, Merasu left afterwards, only to head straight for the gate. His skills or rather, power was all that he needed. He was the Jinchuriki of the Hachibi, the beast that was said to rival the Kyuubi. The only beast said to be even capable of holding a candle to the dragon. Cracking his neck as he walked down the earthen street, he glared at anyone that dared cross his path.
A few of them glared back, others simply stepped aside. Ten minutes or so after Kakusa's arrival, though Merasu was unsure of that himself, the orange haired male came walking down the path. His hand tucked in his pockets, his sharp, wide eyes directed at the male in front of him. He paused five feet in front of the ninja, his expression lacking of emotion.

Kakusa was standing next to the gate, leaning against a wall with his characteristic grin on his face. Finally the genin arrived and he stood straight, looking at his face. The boy had an emotionless expression on his face, had he come across an equally cold individual as himself? ”My my, this boy.. he isn’t hiding his true self from anyone.. is he?” he questioned himself as he continued to stare for a moment. He also noticed that the boy didn’t bring along a huge bag or even a small one that would normally be filled with weapons or snacks or some essentials. It seemed that like himself this boy relied on his abilities as well. Based on those deductions he decided that if the two worked together it would be a catastrophe, so it would be far better to divide; just like he had already planned.
He turned to face the pathway leading outside the village, with his back towards the genin; Kakusa spoke: ”We’ll divide and box in the thief, I’ll go on ahead and you hurry on from here. I’ll cut him off from the mines, you get there in time for him to be unable to go anywhere. If you can’t get there in time… I’ll take care of it, without you”. In a calm manner he finished the concise details he wanted to give the genin and then he continued on sprinting as fast as he could (30km/h). If the genin had any questions, it was already too late to ask them now. Kakusa was never the warm and welcoming type, neither was he a conversationalist; introducing himself or asking for an introduction of the genin is common courtesy but he was deprived of such manners. There was one thing about this genin that he did find interesting, unlike so many glorified shinobi out there who hide their true selves and do their best to appear good and kind, this young individual was true to himself; he was aware of the beastly capabilities of a shinobi and didn’t seem like he was ashamed of them. That one look on his face said it all.
After sprinting on the pathway for some time he moved to the trees and began moving at a speed that he could maintain constantly for a longer period of time (10km/h). If he continued to sprint he would get tired easily and then would take the time to rest, that would eventually prove as a bad strategy; as compared to that a constant speed that would remain unaltered and wouldn’t tire him that easily was a far better choice. Now all that he needed to do was get to the mines before the thief did, hoping that the thief was in fact heading that way and hadn’t decided to change his path.

Kakusa continued on his path for quite a bit of time while moving on ahead he heard the rustling of leaves a few meters ahead of him. He stopped and took cover, he was already on top of a tree as he was moving from branch to branch. From the size of the movement it didn’t seem like a small creature, it might be a large boar or may be some spy. This wasn’t the right time to be indulging into a fight, in either case that was a waste of time and he had to catch up with the thief. He began to devise strategies in order to take down a boar or an enemy spy, quickly and efficiently.
As luck would have it, it wasn’t an animal or a spy; that was the thief that Kakusa was looking for. After managing to steal the item, agitated and frustrated that the object seemed priceless; the thief had taken refuge in a hiding spot in the forest. Conveniently his hiding spot was in the path that Kakusa had chosen. The thief was baffled at his situation because of the item, the item wouldn’t fetch much of a price if he sold it in the black market and now he had ended up making unwanted enemies. So now going into hiding seemed to be a convenient option and where else to hide than right under the enemy’s nose. That was indeed a clever plan by the thief but lady luck wasn’t on his side sadly and now Kakusa had pondered upon him.
The thief emerged from the bushes, a young man, slim build with a dagger tied to his waist and a small bag as well. From the looks of it, Kakusa deducted that this must be a spy stationed here to gather information about the village. The young man was laying traps around his hide out and didn’t notice the shinobi on top of a tree, hidden and watching at his every move. Kakusa moved from his location and got a little closer, slowly he moved on to the tree that was above the thief. His movements were fast, efficient and stealthy; the thief didn’t notice him. Kakusa snapped his fingers and focused his chakra, he was aiming to cast a visual genjutsu. After the propagation of the sound, he poured in his chakra and used the jutsu. The young boy continued to move for a moment but then he began to scratch his feet, slowly he felt thousands of feet moving up on his body. Not only from the outside but also from the inside, it felt like he was being invaded from the inside out.
Kakusa noticed his target’s movements, satisfied that he had succeeded in putting his thief under his genjutsu, he jumped down from the tree; in front of the thief. The thief saw Kakusa and withdrew his dagger, already agitated by his failure as a thief and the feeling of so many little creatures invading his body; he charged blindly. His attack struck Kakusa in the face or so it appeared that way; what the thief saw was Kakusa’s face broken and thousands of ants emerging from his face and climbing on to the thief. The young man’s eyes reflected his horror, the sight was terrifying, the feeling just grew and grew. Black colored ants began to make way out of his mouth, his ears and his nose; helpless he fell to his knees, having no clue that it was all a visual genjutsu. What was happening in reality was that when the thief attacked Kakusa, he just dodged it and now he was standing in front of the young man who was on his knees and trembling with fear.
He was a spy or so Kakusa thought so it would make more sense for him to search this shinobi’s belongings. He looked around and got into where the thief was hiding, wasn’t much; a small hole in the ground with the basic utilities, quite a convenient place for a spy. He looked around and found something wrapped in a piece of cloth. Upon inspecting he found the item that was described to him as stolen; then he realized the error he had committed in his deduction. Kakusa rewrapped the item in the piece of cloth and walked out, he grabbed the thief by the collar and picked him up on his shoulders; slowly he began to make his way back to the village with the thief and the stolen item.

Jutsu Used:
Name: Mugen Kuroari (Infinite black ants) Canon/Custom: Custom Rank: C-rank Type: Supplementary Element: Onmyoton Range: N/A Specialty: Genjutsu Duration: 3 posts Cooldown: 4 posts Description: The genjutsu requires no hand seals only a ‘trigger’. The trigger can be eye contact, voice, clap, snap or a certain action: attacking a clone, attacking the character, the genjutsu triggers right after the ‘trigger’ condition is satisfied. As soon as it activates, the opponent feels thousands of small feet crawling on their body from their feet and heading upwards. When the subject searches for the reason of this feeling, they find ants: hundreds upon thousands of small ants climbing up on their body. The little critters have an impeccable bite and leave small bruises as they move up but nothing more. The feeling of ants crawling and biting as they move up one’s body serves as distraction and falters one’s concentration. If one uses jutsu to cut these ants, the ants just keep regenerating and multiplying.
If the genjutsu is not materialized it takes things a step further, if the subject tries to attack the caster or anyone else that particular someone breaks down into ants. Also, in that case the number of ants increase and in the last post (if the genjutsu is still active) the subject feels the ants inside of his/her own body. The ants slowly begin to spill out of one’s nose, ears and mouth giving one the horrifying feeling of being eaten alive by thousands of ants.
If the genjutsu is materialized it only materializes the ants, nothing else. The materialized ants only move above the body. The part where the ants emerge from inside the body is restricted to non-materialized phase of this jutsu.
Note: The ants can appear from out of nowhere and if in case of a layered genjutsu, the ants can appear from the quick sand that one is trapped in or they can be combined with other genjutsu techniques. Effect: All Genjutsu-based jutsu can either be pure genjutsu or genjutsu materialized. Materialized Genjutsus must have a 1 charge post. A Genjutsu that has already been cast can be materialized after 1 post of charge if the opponent does not dispel it. Genjutsus are cast on foes by a clap of the hands, snap of the fingers or eye contact.
